  1. It appears there is no Hogdon 1000 to be found. I have 2 questions: 1) is there anywhere to find it? 2) if not, what is a recommended powder replacement? I load mostly .300 Weatherby and .338 Norma Thank you, David Adams
  2. Another affordable option is the SWFA HD 5 - 20 scope. I prefer Mil vs. MOA. Just completed a long range class in WY where I was shooting a 24 inch plate at 1 1/2 mile consistently. Here is the link: https://www.swfa.com/optics/riflescopes.html?brand=SWFA SS&brand_model=HD
  3. I have both N350 and some N320. A friend of mine bought a Bill Wilson .38 super limited carry gun that Bill recommended the N320. So I loaded some for him, however they were not for competition. That said, I didn't know if it was a good powder for my Open STI. Seems the general opinion is that it is not. N350 would be better and I have been shooting that powder in my loads for years with no problems.
  4. Totally forgot about the plunk test. Gotta love this site. Thanks!
  5. Minor competition. Thanks! I was looking at 124 JHP Montana Gold; N320 @ 4.1 gr. OAL 1.125?
  6. l Just tricked out my Glock 19. What powder/OAL/load data is best using MG JHP 124 gr.?
  7. Somehow, lost my load data. Loading for .38 Super, using MB JHP 124 gr. how much N320?
  8. Somehow, lost my load data. Loading for .38 Super, using MB JHP 124 gr. how much N350?
  9. Thanks everyone. MaddHatter, the Stealth Gear looks exceptionally nice. Never heard of them. Thanks for sharing.
  10. With Kydex now in the market, what is the best comfort, less printable, IWB conceal carry holster?
  11. My gunsmith is enlarging the release hole in the mag. The ones I bought for my Caspian, the retention hole is cut too high up the mag causing it to push the follower up too high into the slide. Not happy with MBX as that is a simple calculation. Easy fix with a Dremell tool though so not worth the hassle of sending them back to them and waiting.
  12. Finally put my order in for my new Caspian Mags!! Merry Christmas to me :-) Dogtired: In reading the web site, these mags are good to go for both Caspian AND Tanfo. you might call them just to make sure though.
  13. Sig is really making a big splash in the scope market. While in Africa this summer, almost all of the PH's had Sig scopes on their rifles.
  14. I just got on their web site and there is NO mention of the Caspian mags that I can find? Overlooking something?
  15. Is 19 round all that one can get these days? Where is the best place to start a search? Totally rebuilding my Caspian 9mm and want new mags, as mine are shot.
  16. My C-More has finally bit the dust. Thus a replacement needed. Although I have no problem with another C-More, thought before buying would gather suggestions from the pros. Any particular brand and model? Thanks!
  17. There you go. That makes sense. BTW, it is a 550 that has probably seen over 100,000 rounds, but this is the first time this has occurred. To the other question, yes, the primer is not seating all of the way into the case. Thanks guys
  18. How is the best way to figure that out?
  19. OK, I am beginning to think I have lost my mind. I was at Dillion a while back and explained how the old die wrench kept bending on my. He said, oh, you must have an older Dillion to which I replied yes. Well here are the new nuts and a new wrench just change them out.....So I did, and thus, had to recalibrate the bullet depth, crimp and of course the primer ejector. Now, all is set and working but I keep getting high primers. Never had that happen before and puzzled. Anyone give me quick tip on why and how to fix? Many thanks,
  20. Thanks Jack. I didn't think it made a difference with bullet or powder, just mentioned it in case someone would ask. Currently at the collar, it is about .375 I will go pull that bullet and see if it creased the bullet.
  21. Can you suggest the proper crimp for a .38 super (124 MG JHP w/ 7.8gr VVN350) Thanks
  22. Many thanks guys! Actually, I have always used N350 in my open gun for a long time, however a friend of mine (who doesn't reload) just bought a new Wilson Combat .38 super. Wilson recommended the N320 so that was what I was using for his ammo as I loaded it. If you think the non-compensated will handle the N350, then I am good with that. I may have to adjust the load a bit. Any recommendations on load data for Open vs. Limited? I think I am using MG JHP 124 with VV N350 @ 1.250 OAL and 7.8gr. for my Open Gun and it runs fine. Would that mixture work for a Limited .38 super?
  23. OK, it seems that VV is no longer available anywhere in the US thanks to our brilliant administration. That said, I have plenty of N350, however am totally out of N320. In your opinion, is the N350 the best for .38 Super 124gr? Or is there a current/new substitute alternative?
  24. Thanks everyone. If anyone else comes to mind, please let me know as I check out these recommendations.
