Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Just found out I can go! Woo! I seem to be having a problem getting onto the web page to register. Is there an issue at the server? Or is it just me?
  2. Now THAT'S going all-in on a theme! Honeymoon at the NRA convention? Pro-am? ;-) Well shot proposal. Congrats again dude.
  3. 275 miles for me. Its a great match with imaginative/option laden stage layouts. We tend come down the night before to break the driving up. Super 8 in Staunton is pretty cheap ($50-60ish). Can't drive from stage to stage at Brittany, but the layout is pretty compact if you prefer going trooper class. No shade, so sunscreen is highly recommended. The buck/slug round count is a general recommendation for all their matches. They don't always use em. No idea what the course of fire is for tomorrow.
  4. Probably sets them up in the parking lot of his office for some lunchtime stress relief ;-) I wound up on the Nook the whole weekend and went through the RO briefing. It was a bit of a memory test (though I took notes) but I was still surprised at some of the issues (slug scoring, starts, etc.). I liked the skeet, trap, SC part. How else to have a FULL test of shotgun skills? I also agree that we should be able to spread out and ALL finish on those skills. Our squad ended on those stages and I was very thankful to not have to run around on Sunday afternoon. Just get some more teenagers to score and throw. Also, can we borrow and integrate 1 or 2 programmable throwers into a stage with static steel? Might be fun. Lastly, a few of us had some fun on Stage 4 on Sunday afternoon just running the poppers...virginia count..9 shells only. Speed vs FTN....Fun. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
  5. Here's another resource for practical shooting close to Chicago, focused mostly on southern Wisconsin, northern Illinois and northern Indiana. The calendars are pretty useful for us in the NE corner of the state. http://www.wiilshoot.com/ These are a couple of the dedicated 3-gun clubs in the region: Indiana Multigun Action Shooting Sports Gateway 3-Gun There are other club matches scattered around, but Gateway and a couple of ranges in the Indiana series would be your best bets out of Springfield. The heads of each group are active on this board. Welcome to Illinois, the last holdout against concealed carry in the U.S. (hopefully soon to change).
  6. From what I've observed, MG updates their site just about every workday evening with that day's production. They are about as "real time" as you can get (and their shipping backlog isnt bad either). Just keep checking! Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
