  1. I use 7 1/2 on everthing and only switch from a modified choke to a cylnder when I have a stage of close clays only. I just switched from the 3 1/4 dram 1 1/8 oz super x to the win AA super handicap clays load. I think the harder shot in the AA makes a big differance on steel. At 11 yards on a non falling plate the AA were nocking the plate and stand over. the super x were just rocking it

  2. i AM NOT A GUN SMITH SO MY TERS AMY BE A LITTLE OFF! I was haveing a problem with the hammer following only when I fired weak hand, nobody else had this problem with my open gun. What my gunsmith found was the three fingered spring ( I thing it is the main spring) was shifting in the fram and not putting the proper tension on the hammer. This was a mystery for a long time.

  3. I recieved a call from a friend that needed 2,000 rounds of 9mm and 2,000 rounds of 38 super the next day becouse he was leaving for the ammerican hangunner match. I load on a 650 with a case feed and about 15 primer pick up tubes. I put the wife to work filling the tubes and cranked out the rounds at about 100 every fifteen minutes. The bad part was i did not have a tool head set up for 9mm. so i had to set up a tool head also. about 6 hours later i had four almo cans filed with 4,000 round that had been case gage and marked. I am in the milatary and use down days to reload. I usaly get about 1000-1500 rounds loaded every down day i get. That will keep me and the wife in ammo for 8 ipsc and 4 action stages a mounth.

  4. AT my first duty station I worked at the skeet range and I would pick up and reuse shotgun wads. With a little expementing I found out which ones would work. It was a little distracting when the fingers come off on the second reload.

I have about 5000 45 cases that where fired in an open bolt smg so the rims are beat up a little, when they don,t fit in my case gauge I file the rims till they do. I use 38 special dump pouches as 1911 mag pouches, I cut the flap off and mount they upside down, makes a great double mag pouch. I pay $ 3 in the pawn shops

  5. I have been reloading rem nickle plated 38 super for a long time. I reload it till I lose it. Some of the nickle has flaked off and head stamps are a little hard to read but I have never had any split or bulged cases. So what they say about nickle brass may or may not be true.

  6. I loaded on a SDB for 5 years and I had very few problems with it. I never broke a return spring but I have had a few that lost tenction. The priming system is the same as on the 550. I would just get a few extra primer return spring from dillion and run with it. The press comes pre set up but you may have to make a few adjustments. the manual will cover what you need to adjust. I sold my press and moved up to a 650, but before i sold it I just sent it back to Dillion and was returned with a new press.

  7. I started with a glock 19 then moved up to a glock 20. I was new to ipsc and had a carry permit so I match the load to what the 185gn hydroshock felt like(what i used as a carry load). I was shooting full power loads. In the winter we shot at a indoor range where the spectators had little room behind the shooter to watch from. The first time that I shot in the indoor range I was throwing brass all over the spectators. I was asked not so nicely to cut the load. When my wife started to shoot ipsc she starded with the G20 with mild 165PF loads.

  8. I have been shooting a 646 for a year and love it. I have small hands and the 610 and the 645 where just to big for me. I don't find the recoil to bad but may not beaing saying much. One of my guns that I enjoy to shoot the most is a 2" 357. Brownells hase the moon clips

  9. OPSA in Alamogordo NM will be haveing an IPSC Range Officer class on Oct 9th and 10th. 10. My hat cost me alot at the Rocky Mountain 3 Gun. I was on stage 1 which was a long range rifle. At the second shooting position ( under a tree) my glasses fogged up. It was aT 0730, cold moist morning and my breath fogged up my glasses. I had to lift my hat up which pushed my headset off my ears. I was not a happy camper.
