  1. Seveal things have resulted from the trip to the match site this weekend.

    1. We have adjusted the stages so you will shoot them in zones. There are three zones in the match with three stages each. An example, you will shoot zone 1 (stages 1,2,3) on Thursday morning, Zone 2 (stages 4,5,6) on Friday afternoon and then Zone 3 (stages 7,8,9) on Saturday morning. We did this to help make it easier on the shooters and minimize movement around on the range. With the exception to zone 3, you can park within 50 yards of each stage and walk to and from your car without having to lug gear from stage to stage.

    2. Do to some of the range not being completed, we have adjusted some of the stages in number only. Please do not panic when stage one is now stage 3.

    3. The BIG one.....talking with several people back and forth on the issue, spread the word.....the magazine length restriction for Tactical Optics and Tactical Limited has been lifted. So bring your 45, 48, 55 and 60 round mags and have fun.

  2. Peacemaker National Training Center

    1624 Brannons Ford Rd

    Gerrardstown WV 25420

    (304) 229 - GUNS (4867)

I called them yesterday to ask about shipping ammo and was told No. They said I could buy ammo there but that they would not be accepting shipments from us. Hopefully, I just got someone who didn't know or that their stance has changed since I called, but I would recommend checking with them again before you ship.

I will be there at 0900 on Saturday. I will have a direct answer.

  3. Just an FYI, the range has been hit with a large amount of rain over the summer. As a result, most of the bay construction has not been finished and may not be finished in time for the match. With that said, I am headed to the range on Saturday to find new and interesting locations to put our stages. So instead of seeing 6 stages on bays, you may only see 2. I know Jesse you were looking forward to some tougher shots however I afraid I might not be able make that happen. Also be prepared for some stage numbers to change as a result as I want to keep the match shooting in numerical order verses not knowing what stage you shoot next without looking at the schedule....again I am keeping Jesse in mind here.

  4. Chuck....I knew you couldn't stay away from the comment about the mags. I am the match director so I will take the hit for it but I was not the only one involved with the decision. If it makes a difference I am shooting Tac Optics at the 2011 FNH USA match so I will play in the same division that the new equipment rule is being TESTED in.

Back on the topic, yes I will still stand by my comment that they will miss the bus, but I ask this question, why does every major three gun sell out almost immediately but the USPSA nationals. You can send your match application with payment a week prior to the event and still get it....does that not say something?

  5. Aiming is not the arguement. To hit the target you have to aim regardless. The point is you must change to another gun to shoot major in the pistol and rifle. Daniel will show up with a wildcat round to make major and maintain the capacity. Look at the past overall tactical optics spread between first and second when Daniel shoots major handgun and rifle while the second place shoots major handgun and minor rifle. Just don't see the logic here to do a different scoring system than all the others.

  6. I had a couple people ask me yesterday about scoring for the match. I verified with the Pres and RM that the match will be run using hit factor scoring with Major/Minor PF just like it always has been. Apparently a couple folks heard it was going to be Time Plus.

Chuck, I am a life member of USPSA. USPSA is once again going to watch the tailights of the 3 gun vehicle drive off and they missed the ride. Honestly how hard it is to make this like any other 3 gun in the US with NO major/minor scoring?

  7. Rockcastle Shooting Center will be hosting a shotgun championship the weekend of April 27th-29th.

The match will consist of 20 stages ranging from short courses to long courses.

What do we consider a "long" course? Long distance or (more likely in my case) long time?

    Anyway.....I am in :goof:

If Pan Am is any example, 100 yards up hill.

Charles, I thought it added a nice little touch, the elevation only changed by 50 feet! Not like it was 250 foot change....geeez!

  8. Submitted my application today (via e-mail & snail mail). Hopefully it'll get there in time to make it into a squad, now that some spots have opened up. Any idea of the number of spots that recently became available? Just curios about my odds...

I wrote about 10 refund checks today and Linda said that the waiting list has been exhausted so we will have spots open. Send you application and if you have friends on the fence, send the match application tomorrow as the match fee increases on 1 Oct.

  9. Yeah, I kind of assumed that they were the 14" tall MGM Auto Poppers

    AP_standard.jpg

Yes these are the Skinny Sammies. However we will be putting orange foot flags on them so they will flash from the bottom to indicate a hit. We will be painting them gray so when the bullet hits, the color stays the same for every shooter.....oh but here is the best part. Each one of the rifle steel targets will have a yellow (real yellow not lime green with a white popper) card behind it large enough that no matter where you see it, the yellow will be on both sides and top of the popper.

This should make it much easier to see as this was the best contrast I could come up with that would be the same from the first shooter to te last shooter.

Also, we will be painting all the plate target stands located in natural terrain FLORESCENT RED to assist with plate posiion identification, again the plates will be gray. I will also look at if needed to assist with indetification of a plate location, a piece of red/orange engineer tape hanging from a tree limb.

I will try to make it so all the targets are visable at all times, if you miss them, it will be your fault!

  10. I have a question about my rifle comp. I use the SJC Titan. The OAL is 3.25". The threading on the barrel however extends .5" into the base of the comp making the comp 2.75" from the end of the muzzle. As I read the rule, this is legal as it is less than 3" from the end of the muzzle. Am I correct in my interpretation?

    YES

Not sure what all the questions are for as these are the same rules that are used at Superstition Mountain. However to give you the official answer the SJC is good. The 3" is from the end of the muzzle whihc covers 99.9% of all tactical comps.

  11. If you are thinking about, considering or otherwise have not signed up for the match.....this is your lucky day. After some crazy shifting, inventive design and the right thing to do, the match has created the opportunity for additional people to enter the match. Currently the waiting list has been exhausted and we are once again taking applications. Space is limited so get your application in with match fee prior to 1 October as the match fee goes up.

This is going to be an exciting event and one not to miss.

  12. Still trying to get out of this match. Larry or Linda where are you. Just trying to give guys on the waiting list a heads up. If anybody has good contact info to get out let me know. Email and PM's not being answered. thanks

I got the email....haven't seen anything from Linda but she is catching up after a brief side trip. Kamenski, you are not getting out that easy...I am switching to tac optics, I need another chance to whip up on your from Fairfax last year!
