Took a look at their web site and they look very nice, something I'll have to do some more checking on. I like the leather holster but will have to say these are a little higher priced than most I have considered.

What makes them stand out for you compared to others?

Brian, I tried one of the crossbreeds and my issue was the spring steel belt clips are right in the way when trying to grip it for a draw, maybe the position I like to carry at causes this.

I usually run the front clip in the top hole(deepest the front can be) and the back clip one notch down( grip a tick higher). with about an hour of some dryfire it comes out right quick. Very minimal print on that setting(I’m  a tad thinner so have printing issues with longer grips). Usually when I get one I’ll go to the garage and move it around a bunch and dryfire till I find something that feels right.

  2. I switched from a shield to a p365xl. Have always used crossbreed mini tucks so I ordered another for the sig, and wasn’t disappointed.i carry at 4 o’clock. Friend of mine had a milt sparks for his shield and I can honestly say it’s the beez kneez. Might still order one at some point but not a darn thing wrong with the crossbreed. My 2 cents

  3. I struggled with it sticking when I first started using it if it got dirty at all. Added the thigh support(sub 10 bucks) and the muzzle support(10ish bucks) and have been trouble free since. I think it’s a solid holster with those two additions. A buddy has the Everglades and it is very smooth just not a fan of the way it looks and the lock method didn’t seem as secure(I didn’t mess with it much so the lock may very well be sufficient). Give the thigh pad and muzzle support a try. Shooters connection stocks both

  4. Thanks to everyone on this thread for contributing information on this gun. Local gun shop had one out of the blue when I was killing time and it followed me home! Still need to get a buffer set up, stock/grip and a dot. Excited to give 3gun a go now that I don’t have to sacrifice my fingers trying to learn to quad load my versamax!!![emoji23] what’s the general consensus on a dot that will hold up? I know the 510c is awesome but saw one fail at a1 last weekend due to the lens popping out(frame mounted open gun)...any input would be welcomed again thanks to all involved in this thread!9facb92157bcb25276f8a7dd91fc20ee.jpg

  5. +1 for the limcat magwell! Just put one on my chaos and I went the route of clearance on the magwell side, put it on sharpied where it needed clearance, little dremel action and it fit up rock solid. Just ordered another for my back up gun as well. Pt is said to be releasing a similar magwell to limcat that will require no fitting but not sure on eta of that one. Atlas is making one later this year and Akai offers one as well that is available now. I think Dawson would be smart to make a new insert with the convex radius as it does work very well on metal grips.

  6. Agree with cha lee on the matter. For the dollar it doesn’t make sense to not go with a reputable builder starting with fresh components fitting them together on a much smaller scale then a big company like sti. Being a machinist by trade I’m a firm believer in quality and quantity being directly related. No personal experience with Ck or cheely but have seen a lot of their components being used by a lot of high end gun smiths these days. At the start of 2018 I purchased a 40 nemesis due to atlas being easy to work with through the ordering process and delivering right on time(3 months from order date) and gun that ran like a scalded dog! At the end of 2018 shooting season I bought a used open gun from the classifieds and decided to give open a try for the 2019 season. Few messages back and forth with Adam and cat and my nemesis was on its way back to have chaos top end fitted. Was told 2 month turnaround on this (back in my hands in 2 months plus a week which is perfectly acceptable in my book when dealing with outside vendors for coating and parts). All my dealings with atlas have been nothing but great. I know there is a lot of builders that are very capable of delivering a great product, but atlas has won me over with their quality and customer service. A titan for 3600 is a steal in my opinion for a gun with metal grip and the quality of the rest of the parts used! Best of luck on your decision.

Actually, going with sti gen 2s plus basepads and springs and followers is considerably cheaper then mbx mags. Mbx mags are 130 for a 140mm. Or 50 for gen 2 mag, 30 for basepad and 20 for the guts. So 100 total, 30 bucks cheaper then mbx. Over a set of 10; it’s a considerable amount of money.

I really like the new sti mags a lot. Especially for 40, they just work great. But With 9 they sometimes need some tweaking. The double to single transition is a bit wide from the factory and it causes the rounds to stack wrong, and you get a big gap between the first and second round in the mag. And this causes rounds to nose dive. They come around .620-.630, and they need to be brought down to about .560-.570, one inch down the tube. It’s pretty simple to do. And after this they go from about 95% reliably, to 100%. But even then I still trust my mbx more. They have the dimensions right, and they stack up neatly and are just very reliable. So I practice with sti and shoot matches with mbx.

This has been my experience with 9mm mags as well

  8. I had an x5 set up for carry optics with all the normal x5 upgrades. traded it to a junior shooter’s dad in our area for a Cajun upgraded s2 so him and his son could use the same guns and have a spare if need be, and I’m partial to metal cz’s. Proceeded to cut the s2 for a dot and have practiced with it a bit. The weight of the gun is nice and trigger is pretty baller but on the clock I’m not sold that it would make a big difference at a match. I originally shot limited and when the co rules on capacity opened up I tried it with the x5. Since then I have moved to shooting open but still really enjoy having a co rig available as a option to shoot or even just as a extra rig to offer to friends, family, or unsuspecting people wanting to try USPSA for the first time(set the hook real deep). To the last point I think the x5 makes a far better gun for new shooters and still plenty capable of competing at the highest level( Max M.) both are great options but I think I’ll be moving my co s2 to set up another x5 co rig.
