  1. Just a thought is to buy an M&P, XD or Glock that is milled for CO.  Get your mags and a red dot.  Try it for a bit and if you like the dot and want to try open you can buy a quick drop in barrel and comp from Carver Customs for around $300-$400 bucks.  It is the cheapest way to try open or CO and see which you enjoy.  If you buy a CR speed or Ghost race holster you can adjust it for CO or a comp easy.  With this setup you could shoot limited, CO, or open for a little over a thousand bucks depending on how many goodies you want after that.  Happy experimenting!!!

  2. I used to try the Slideglide lite but it was too thick unless it is 100 degrees outside.  My gun wouldn't cycle properly especially on cold days.  I messed around with Rem oil and such but it didn't seem to stay put.  So I switched to Lucas and have had really good luck.  A couple drops and they slide stay well lubricated for a long time.

  3. I have had good luck with the WE’s.  They are reasonably priced and do help with live action fire during the cold months.  However nothing beats the real thing,  but it is a great way to introduce your kids.  So I highly recommend them.

If the Glide does not provide perfect function in all temperature ranges, you can "cut it" with any petroleum based oil.

The last few comments prompted me to dig into my Slide-Glide / endorsement folder. I'll post some comments...

Thanks for the information that is helpful I will give it a try.  I always liked the concept of slide glide but when I had the hiccups I quit using it.  Thanks again!

Heh, I’ve asked local MDs to define their 180. When I did, they decided to move targets and/or throw out the stage. No reason to continue to reinforce that the rules prevent them to intentionally trap people to break 180s, we get that, but it still happens. I literally heard a dude say “I designed this stage to make you watch your 180! I wanna DQ a few of you fast guys!”

That’s what I mean when I say I hate the 180 rule.  It’s these type of guys that purposely try to get you in trouble that make it a hassle.  Cause if you complain they get upset or say that you just like to game it or run too fast.  I JUST WANT TO SHOOT!  Set things up in a safe but fun array and let’s shoot don’t try to mess with people especially since it really affect new shooters that may not come back if they don’t like the atmosphere or technicalities.
