    938 question

I bought a 938 a few months ago and have fired about 100 rounds thru it so far. Accuracy is amazing for such a little gun. I've had no issues factory 115 and 124 grain ammo. Only issue I've had is using some of my reloads that were improperly sized and FTF. Other than that it's a great little gun and I'm very pleased with it.
  2. Sure enough tonight I removed the broken small primer punch and put on the large one. Placed the primer system back on the press and pulled the handle and wa-la the index arm didn't get stuck. Now just to wait for the parts I broke.
  3. I called Dillon Tech support on Tuesday and spoke to I thought a Tom, was told today there is not a Tom that works there. Anyway it was late and he wasn't really sure what to do about my problem but took down my info and said someone with some more experience would be contacting me soon to help me with this issue. Two days later I hadn't heard back from Dillon so I called again and spoke with Steve who was very knowledgable and helpful. He walked me through several troubleshooting steps, most of which I had already tried. He then asked me to check the primer punch to see if it was flush and sure enough it was sticking up quite significantly and we believe that to believe the reason the index arm was not moving like it should. So he is going to send me a new small primer punch and indexing arm, as both the ones I have are now bent. Hopefully in a few days I'll be able to report that my 650 is back up and running.
  4. Sorry if this already posted somewhere else in the forum but I couldn't find it when I did a quick search. I'm having an issue with my XL 650 primer system. When I push down on the handle I get stuck halfway up, the primer indexing arm is catching on the primer cam and not rotating the disc to feed a new primer. I've had the 650 for over a year now and this is first time I've experienced this. I've done every bit of trouble shooting, disassemble/reassemble of the primer system, tighten/loose the shell plate bolt. Cleaned every nook and cranny I can find. Everything I can think of to include getting a new indexing arm and primer cam. Appreciate any assistance/advice anyone can provide. Robby
  5. Not yet, but I have ordered one. They look pretty slick and the Sells are good folks and hardcore shooters, so they know what works. I'll update when I get it. I just got my armadillo concealment vest two months ago and have used it in two IDPA matches thus far. Absolutely love it, great vest and worth the price and wait time.
  6. I am by no means an expert when it comes to reloading. Only been doing it for just about a year. My first and only press is the XL650 from Dillon. I did tons of research and watched countless videos on reloading prior to making my purchase but still had a lot to learn. I will say that why I love my 650 today, a year ago I was a lot less enamored with it once I pulled it out of the box and tried to start. It took me a month or so just to get all the little details right to where I could reload with any consistency. Quite a few phone calls to Dillon made that first month, often requesting replacement parts for something I broke or lost trying to get it up and running. Don't lose heart it is a great machine but in my limited experience it can take some time getting set up and going but once you've figured out all the little kinks in your press it will bring you hours of enjoyment. Best of luck. Robby
