  1. We gather at the range, all members who stand for their rights, each year just after the rains from March to June, each armed with a .22 pistol/revolver and a rifle, a case of .22lr ammo and a cooler filled with soft drinks (the beer stays in the car until after the war for celebration purposes - yes, we can not loose against evil... :D ). This gathering of unsung heroes serves only the purpose of annihilating the forces of locusts that dare to wander where they should not!

Rhino, we salute your heroic deed!

I had to revive this thread....

The time has come again...very soon...

    Here are our targets

  2. One thing that we noticed was that the windmill on stage 16 was not consistent in how it spun.  It had to be fixed halfway through the stage.

Yep, I forgot about that. I was offered a reshoot because it was spinning at a noticeably slower pace than it had for other shooters on our squad (and I foolishly said, "Yes").

That would be an I D 10 T error....but the RIGHT thing to do....

Sorry, I forgot to mention: Get a FAL!

I'm a bit obsessed with them. I wouldn't want another gun in my hands when the brown stuff hits the rotating stuff - anywhere....

  4. Which brings me to a basic question concerning any change in the Major/Minor scoring for rifles; are we trying to construct a system that describes the real world, however vaguely? Or are we trying to construct a power factor neutral scoring system, where Major and Minor balance exactly, and thus only the shooters skill is the determining factor?

(Come to think of it, the question applies for all, not just rifle. But this is a rifle forum.)

I'm talking IPSC here, not 3-gun, but tournaments and rifle matches according to IPSC....

Patrick, you bring up a very valid point. From what I gather IPSC is supposed to be a, however vague, representation of reality in a game/sport environment. This should be reflected in the scoring, meaning all A hits in the same time mean the same thing for min or maj.

A C or D hit with min or maj does make a real difference in real life and must thus in scoring. I just feel that the current scoring does not reward maj C/D hits the same way in Rifle as it does in HG, taking time into consideration. At distances up to 300m a maj hit in C/D will have a more severe effect than a min hit in the same area. Same as with HG out to 50m. (Max distances according to rules). The balance just does not appear to be right judging by the results between Rifle and HG......

  5. IMHO:

I agree that it is best to do the right thing and forget about receiving. Thats the way it should be. And because of that, me, and some others, will always be the doormat for many others.

It is a problem in today's world that people do not know how to receive (I mentioned this before around here). Can you receive a Christmas/birthday/friendship gift, gesture, some help or assistance without making the giver feel bad/un-loved/un-appreciated????? How many can receive anything - no matter how small or insignificant - and be plain grateful????

I do not expect a "Thank You" or something in return, a smile will do.

Stop finding faults with what you receive! Be thankful and appreciate that you got it! Be grateful!

  6. Rhino, what did you say in that other thread "I still don't have an assault rifle in 30 calibre" or something to that effect - sell the Ruger (I you get the export stuff organised I'll take it...it's only a .308... ) and get a nice FAL or similar. Not a think in the world you can't shoot with it.... :P

  7. Been there, seen it, done it...still waiting for the T Y

It appears that most of the people (can we call them that) on earth today did not get a lesson in manners at home, which means their parents have no manners. Those of us that still do have manners are looked upon as if we're the last of a dying, stinking breed! And because of this general attitude if've started not being as nice as I'm normally to many people!

300lb - I'll help you herd them to hell to die!!!! F$$#@!K-Faces!!!!
