  1. If throttling back means closer to minor or thereabouts then any of these should be a good starting place. CONSULT a RELOADING MANUAL These are soft, and accurate loads from my Bianchi guns 115gr JHP bullets loaded in the 1.245 - 1.250" OAL range around 1100 - 1150+fps CLAYS around 4.2 - 4.4 gr Titegroup around 4.5 - 4. 8 gr WW231 around 5.0 - 5.4 gr 124 or 125gr JHP loaded in the 1.245 - 1.250 OAL range around 1030-1070+ fps CLAYS around 3.9 - 4.1 gr Titegroup around 4.2 - 4.6 gr WW231 around 4.6 - 5.0 gr Be Safe, MJ Yes, that's about right. Thank you. I have a pile of manuals starting from the mid-70's to early 80's, then another batch of more recent vintage. The older ones are a little hot (and list unavailable powders like older Winchester powders and the Alcans, for example) and then the newer ones drop off low. Something in between there, with powders I actually have or can buy, was what I was after...and got. Thanks.
  2. I just traded for a new Colt Gov't 38 Super, just for fun. I used to load quite a bit for the 38 Super, BUT, it was all for fully ramped/supported chamber barrels and a lot was for a Hybrid comped gun. I need to throttle back for the standard Colt barrel. Anybody got any loads for a standard barrel? I was planning on shooting Zero 124 grain bullets, and maybe some 115s. That is, if I ever find my dies and brass in the garage.
  3. Thanks for that. I got an 8000 about a month ago, am seeing the same marks, and assumed the same thing. I'll put some film on there now.
  4. Just for fun, I shot mine at a club's fundraising rifle side-match this Summer. I was concerned about how far they would shoot, and if the Carbine could handle it. As it turned out, they re-shot a stage used in the pistol match earlier, whose targets were at something like 3-8 yards! I only had 15-rd mags, and it was a 21 round stage, so I was one of the few that had to reload. Which I fumbled. The mag didn't have enough weight to drop free with only a couple of rounds in it, so it had to be pulled free. I already had my fresh mag in hand, so had to do some juggling. Still, I placed fairly well due to getting good hits. I had an advantage in that the Carbine's bore-to-sight line is low as compared to the AR15s that most used. They had to compensate for that, or take hits on the no-shoot. I could hold dead-on. Like I said, I shot it for fun, but I learned a few things: -The bore-to-sight line allows holding dead-on at ultra-close range. -I need to practice mag changes with it. -It handles very well. We shot around a barricade, and I had no trouble keeping the muzzle from striking the wall while staying in the box. -It stays on target pretty well. There was some bouncing around, but mostly I just had to shoot.
  5. I've shot my P220 in IPSC/IDPA, but it's been a few years. At the time, I carried it a lot for self-defense, so it seemed natural to shoot it. The Sig 8-rd mags were new when I last used that gun, so never tried them. So I had to reload a little more often- it was good practice for my purposes. Besides, when I did OK, I got to hear "Good job for what you were using". Which is the highest praise I will ever get. Do you use the P220 as a carry gun? If so, just keep shooting it. An couple more reloads per match won't hurt.
