Does the cerakote make them i guess...not as smooth for loading? What kind of issues would you run into with it?

I love my WSM II because it feels secure when locked in with my Glock 17.

Well got to shoot the new open gun tonight.WOW it is great.
shot about 150 rds. 100 major and 50 or so at 150 PF
6.8 gr of winchester auto comp, winchester small rifle primer
oal 1.135,125 gr jhp-c bullet. 1408 av fps
The big stick will hold 29 so i can start with 30 in the gun.
I did a 30 rd start and gun functions with no issues.
25 round rapid fire no issues and off a rest will keep
the hits in about a 3inch group at 20 yards.( im no bullseye shooter)
First match sat. in columbia s.c., I guess the proof will be in the pudding.
Well did not win the match but the gun ran 100% no issues.
A buddy shot the other steel gun only he shot minor and
it also ran 100%.I did manage to win a stage but was alittle
out of control on a couple of stages. Also both big sticks
ran with 29 rd starts.got alot of complements at the range as well.
That always makes you feel good...
Heres the video from this weekend of the new caver custom.
Nice shooting! That gun looks like it performs well!

I'm looking to get a holster for my open Glock 17 and I want to also use it down the road for an STI. Does this holster allow inserts to fit multiple guns like the DA RM holster?
Also...CR Speed has a "specific" gun fit and a universal. The universal comes in colors and the specific does not. What would be the difference?
Anyone order directly from the CR speed website?
-
its probably "gritty" because you didn't get the striker as well....or at least polish your current striker. It makes a world of difference with the ultimate kit...
I am currently running the ultimate kit and its perfect. The reset is fast and the pre travel is minimal....and it breaks smooth. I think you just need more adjusting and you'll be fine.

hahaha i have in the mail arriving tomorrow my SJC mount, Cmore, Racker, SJC Magwell and 3 port carver comp....I cant wait to put it together. I just need to figure out if im going to do it myself or pay someone to have it put in. I have a feeling its going to be put in by someone, lol
-
Im down for that! I need to get my gun put together first!
-
VERYYYYY nice...................!!!
I am curious as to what type of holster you are using ?
There is an awful lot of metal on the mount under the front of the Weaver rail on the frame.
Good luck with the competition.
Thank you! I´m using a CR speed that has been modified to fit the mount.
is there any drag on that holster with the mount? Im debating going with the carver mount with this holster...

Good call. That's what I was afraid of. Looks like dawson is the choice for myself as well.

My only concern of the DP pads is that they are aluminum. Wont these dent and get dinged up?
-
hmmm that might work. Now i see you have the SS ones...why not the tungsten?
Open guns tend to be fairly violent with major of rounds. Tungsten Ross have been known to be brittle and break, or chip. I ran one in my G34 production gun, and mine cracked after 5k. The SS rods are much more reliable.
I think i might just order the SS one from LWD because i can always use my tungsten back in my 34. Also knowing that it works without modification thats a plus. I figured i'd screw something up...should have just asked a simple question haha.
-
Or ask Bobby to mill it out for you. There's always the option of getting a guiderod from Bobby or LWD direct. Keep us posted.
I just ordered it. I think i will call tomorrow to see what they say.
The open gun was an afterthought and I already had the SS guide rods on hand.
Makes sense...

crap....mines .254
-
hmm ok would you happen to have the diameter of your guide rod?
-
Thanks!
-
Is that the carver 3 port comp? If so are you running a gen 3 guide rod?
I want that comp but haven't heard back from them on if it will fit with a gen 3 uncaptured guide rod. It seems like the best comp for what I would like to obtain.
-
Awesome thanks, I think i may have to order one! I was just worried about durability being the back plate.

I have a start....
Glockworx ultimate trigger kit w/lightened striker
Zev Magwell with heavy insert
KKM Drop in barrel w/comp (plan on putting a Carver 3 port)
Tungsten uncaptured guide rod w/11# spring
Thats about it for now. I just need to decide if I'm going to have Glockworx cut my slide up all fancy and light, and which optics I want to go with.

Any reviews on that slide racker? I am looking for the best alternative to actually sending my slide to get one installed in front of a melted leupold optic. Any info would probably save me a lot of money. haha.

Well technically isnt the slide ride, say....delta point from leupold "look" bigger since the optic is closer to you vs a slightly larger optic in front of the ejection port which is further away? I feel it would almost be a wash between the 2....but when i see pro's they generally are running the Cmore's.
Man this is going to be difficult.
All i want to do is build a fast steel gun, and it seems harder than it should be due to options :-\
SA Range Officer 9mm....I got one! What front sight?

I ended up with a 180Tx100W from DP. works perfect with the factory rear target sight.
