  1. I'm liking my elite match .45acp...a lot. have done some stuff with it, and I think i'll keep it. I'm really considering getting a 6" barrel, threading it, and then shooting this one suppressed. but...i'm also hurting with ammo cost! I'm tossing around the idea of buying a 9mm upper for it...or just outright buying another 9mm all together. It's really going to depend on the price of the upper, and if I have to FFL it or if I can just have it shipped to me at home. It'll get a threaded barrel and be shot suppressed as well... so...which one am I looking for and where can i get it???
  2. i'm curious on this as well.....i'm looking to suppress my .45acp Match.....and no one makes a threaded barrel, so I'll just have a 6" one threaded
  3. it's not horrible....just...well, not my style. i really wish someone made micarta grip panels for these guns....i hate the factory rubber grips, and i'm not paying $120 for some aluminum ones lol
  4. So i'm not a fan of the factory hard-chromed frame...at all... I'm getting one of my 1911's coated this upcoming weekend and was thinking while my guys going at it on the 1911, maybe I could get the match frame done as well. So has anyone done it, yet? Any advice on stripping or prepping for cerakote? The guns already stripped down, awaiting new parts and for me to finish polishing others....so it'd be a good time for it to happen
  5. i tried searching and reading as much as i could...but the search function on this forum setup isn't the strongest. i've contemplated just putting a henning threaded pin in the gun, since i'm ordering an XL firing pin, hammer spring, and front sight tomorrow (payday...so i can hide the purchase from the g/f lol)
  6. well.....I my washers were too thick...i even took a small file to them and tried to shave them down as best i could, but even when I was getting close to the right thickness, the sheer diameter of them was making it a no-go..... I guess i'll just have to live with the wobble :-/
  7. I detail stripped the gun last night....i'm taking it next weekend to get the frame coated...and yeah, the spring wasn't the most fun i've had lol. It's doable though, there's MUCH MUCH worse things i've worked on, though lol I have some 0.0400" washer's i'm going to try tonight...i'm afraid I'll have to get something even samller though...as they hole on them is 0.1300"....so we'll see how thy work
  8. the flat trigger MIGHT make it's way into this gun...but i'm really not sure. but for as for the slop...i agree it's the trigger hole...but if i take some stainless washers and polish them with flitz...it'll limit what side to side motion there is...at least enough to make it acceptable to me, i'd think. digging i've found the pin diameter is 0.0990"...i THINK that was in reference to the Henning pin...but, i'm not sure and don't have my gun here with me to measure. I do, though, have a large warehouse of hardware I'm going to pick and choose from and try to make something work, though.
  9. is there a common washer that people choose to use? I'm just trying to avoid the flat trigger...for now... I want to shoot the gun a bit before doing MAJOR changes, ya know
  10. shot my match 45 for the first time today....and seems like it's a shooter. I was cleaning it a few min ago..and noticed that the trigger roll pin has moved over some....and now that i'm looking at it closer, the trigger wobbles back and forth QUITE a bit. With the gun field stripped, i can see a good 1/32" or more on each side of the trigger ears......does anyone ever put a spacer or small washer in place to remove this slack?
  11. after e-mailing back and forth a bit today with henning....i suppose i'll just simplify things and order one of this sites. I was informed that a new, fixed, rear site for the Match is coming out of their shop soon.....so that'll be next on the list, as well. But for now...the .140 sight, XL firing pin and a 13lb wolf hammer spring are going to be ordered Friday morning
  12. i don't WANT to change out the rear....it seems decent enough for my purposes...which is just plinking at my range. I'm a rifle shooter...that likes to play a pistol shooter on the weekends. my triggers break is great, but i'd like a lighter pull...so if i can figure out what springs and firing pin to order...i might just do an order and get the henning, since he's got the other stuff as well
  13. dawsom .160 henning .140 does the extra .020 make THAT much of a difference? a $30 difference?
  14. hi...i'm new...names Rob. i bought an Elite Match (.45acp) this past weekend at a local gun show. I believe it's an 09 build...that's seen very, very, very, very little use...as in, appears guy shot 1, maybe 2, mags...and put it up. There's no wear anywhere on the gun...so it might as well be brand new. Anyways...the sights just don't work for me...and i'd really prefer a fiber front. I run dawson on a few other guns...so of course i went there first, but with all the talk of them being so much taller than the factory....it has me a tad apprehensive about wasting the money. Yeah..it's only $40...but still, that's over halfway to the short, but still much taller, henning fiber... so..i ask...is a definitive answer as to which is the ideal sight, yet? I've read all the threads on all the forums I could find...and it just goes back and forth like an LSX vs Windsor thread, lol.
