I have a springfield basic competition full size .45 When I hit the slide release and let the slide go home with no ammo in the the weapon the hammer goes to half cock. I have not seen this happen before. When I have a magazine in the weapon and let the slide go closed and a round is chambered the hammer stays back. Is this a problem? Should I be sending it in to get fixed? I don't think I have seen it happen when I chamber a round but if I am at a shoot I don't want that to happen.

This is an older picture of my bench before I moved all my stuff into another room. I will get more pics of my new room and try to get them posted. The bullets I listed up above were the HPBT, not the fmjbt that you had listed. It is item number 1390. These bullets were grouping pretty good for me. I have not tried those other bullets yet.

I have used the 55 gr HPBT gamekings in my AR. I have a 24" barrel with a 1/9 twist and have loaded them with 26 grs of W748. I shoot 5 shot groups under an inch at 100 yards with that load. I have at least 15 more loads worked up that need tested with different bullets and powders to see what my rifle likes. Those gamekings were cheaper and they seem to be shooting pretty good out of my rifle. This is the BC of that bullet I shoot as listed on the Sierra web page. .185 @ 2800 fps and above .189 between 2800 and 1800 fps .193 @ 1800 fps and below
