  1. 3 momths ago when the panic started I ordered a dozen mags from "Glock Store". The web site didn't show they were out of stock so I expected them to be shipped. I called two weeks later after 2 emails with no response and cancelled the order. It is against Visa and Mastercard policies to charge for an item before shipping it. It is NOT illegal though. Your only real recourse is to report any company that does this to the credit card comapny.

  2. Time to revisit this topic. The least expensive solution I can see are the Magpul Speedplates at about $5 each.

    Anyone have a better solution?

Yes and cheap, Go to McMaster and Carr buy a 12' x 12" sheet of 1/2" thck Rubber cut it oversized for the base pad and glue it on with barge cement. It is a contact cement that shoemakers use. It is an excellent cement. Then use a belt sander to carefully grind off the excess rubber that is wider than the basepad. It won't come off while being used but you can always rip them off if need be. clean them off and reglue. If you don't extend the bases then you should remove the magwell. If not you eventually will be dropping mags after one shot.

  3. Buy From GT Targets, For $675 you will get the star with 5 - 8"x 3/8" AR500 plates. This is the original design of the Texas star. Karl purchased the design from the guy in Texas that used to build them and Pays him a royalty for each star sold. Everyone else stole the design and copied it. You can also get thinner plates to convert to 22 rimfire. If you want to shoot rifle this may not be the way to go. They would have to be 1/2" AR 500 and even then the rifle will destroy the plates eventually. Here is the web site http://www.gttargets.com

  4. Shooting lots of groups is the best way to learn how to shoot. Watch the gun in recoil what does it do. How's your grip is it consistent. You will learn more shooting slow fire than you ever will at a match. Once you have mastered the basics then you get to start all over on the mental management. Some can, some can't , very few ever master the mental side.

  5. I had a 550 for years... loaded a lot of different calibers on it. When I started shooting steel I wanted to be able to load faster so I went with the 650. What a press. All though the 550 will crank out plenty of rounds the 650 will do it faster and easier.
