Have about 1500 rounds through the gun now with Daniel's work on it ( in one week ;-) and I have to save, the more I shoot this gun... the more I want to shoot this gun. I love it! Another match coming up this weekend. Can't wait. Never thought I would like a gun as much as my G34. Hopefully my bullet orders show up soon...shot up all my 147's,135's and now down to my last 1500 of 124's... which strangely enough, I think I really like in this gun with the SS guide rod and 16# spring seem to give me the quickest sight aquisition on follow up shots, without the gun "dipping" or feel like I am waiting for the slide to cycle. I'll have to run my timer next time I am at the range to check split times.

That is a beautiful gun my friend!

My FAVORITE Glock 34 has a grip reduction done, so I was left to getting waxed shooting minor in Limited . I decided to get a 9mm XDM 5.25 to shoot in Production and ESP after reading the great reviews on BE and since they are not legal in California, but there is a LGS that will do an SSE, I thought that's pretty cool and went and bought one. Picked up the gun a week before Christmas and headed to the range.
Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Thought "Uh Oh" what did I just do...hated the trigger, hated the front sight, recoil sucked...My Glock 34 was dialed in,Vanek trigger, Jager lightened striker, springs ,Dawson sights etc... Love this gun...just couldn't shoot it in the class I wanted. After researching the "big 3" XDM specialists here and reading a ton of threads, checking out all their websites, videos and calling all of them. I decided to give PRP the nod. Sent an email to Daniel explaining that I wanted a bunch of work done...here's the catch, the gun can ship out on 12/26/12....I need it back by the 4th for 2 matches on Jan.5th and 6th...which means with weekends and New Years eve and Years Day in there as well, I am asking for a miracle! Daniel's response ( at 10 pm on a Sunday night I might add ) "I could probably have it done for you but I can't promise it for sure" I thought that was a fair answer and off my gun went to Oregon from Sacramento.
My next contact was from Maygen at PRP to go over the work order. She is fantastic and a huge asset to PRP. Great follow up and communication the whole way through. I couldn't have had better customer service from her. Low and behold the gun was back on my door step where I hugged the Fed-Ex lady like a long lost friend(true story) on 1/4/13 at 10am.It's a miracle!! Headed to the local range with holster and mag pouches in tow. The PRP 2.5# competition trigger is unbelievable!!! The PRP trigger has almost not take up, super short reset, and breaks so well that I don't even notice the trigger when I shooting. Yes, it's that good!
With a few clicks on the rear sight and the new Dawson FO .100" is dialed in and dead on target. The PRP SS guide rod and 16# spring in perfect for my new flat shooting XDM.
I'm sure all of the XDM vendors on here are great and there is plenty of evidence in this forum to support that. I just want to say, that I am so impressed with Powder River Precision. What a great company to deal with from start to finish. From their website, iPhone app, email communication, phone calls and awesome Gunsmith work. I am now a lifelong customer and I LOVE my new XDM. Can't wait to get some more time behind this gun... It is my new favorite!!
Thanks again to everyone at PRP... you are a credit to the competition shooting community!

+1 for what A45100 said!

Great job on that! I paid $125 plus shipping to have mine done. Yours looks even better that mine. I love the super aggressive texture as well

Any updates on your trigger work? I pick up my XDM on Friday, going to shoot it in a match on Sunday and sending it somewhere, haven't decided where yet, to get the trigger done. Still debating on CC or SP. both seem to have a loyal followers and both are very active on this site. I definitely want to support the vendors on this site. Making the switch from Glock.... I'm am so excited I can hardly stand it!

Thanks for All the input. Ended up adding the Mr. Bullet Feeder in place of the powder check sensor. Honestly, cant imagine ever loading without the bullet feeder now that I have it. Added a LED light to see into the case. The bullet feeder and the RF100 are 2 ítems that i am extremely glad i bought and now cant live without!

G34 or G17
in Glock
Shot a friends 19 Gen3 with a grip reduction and loved it! Bought a 34 Gen3 sent it out to have the same grip reduction...It is my favorite gun! But I use that one for limited and have a 34 Gen4 for IDPA SSP. Have to say overall I like the Gen3 better and will probably qualify for ESP with it next year and shoot the 34 Gen 3 for both USPSA and IDPA. For my CCW I carry a 26 Gen4 and shot it in IDPA for months before getting the 34's. I did very well with the 26. I put a lot of practice time in with the "baby glock" and I feel it made me better shooter before moving to the 34's. I am now getting a 19 Gen3 for my CCW but sending it out to have the grip reduction as well. Based on my own experience with these guns and IMHO you are one the right track with the 19 for carry and the 34 for home and competition in the future if you so decide.... good luck with your decisions!

Running 147 Xtreme plated RN, 3.5 N320, CCI @ 1.145". Really liked 124's as well but settled on the 147 after running several mags back to back and alternating rounds in mags at range. Using this load for USPSA and IDPA. So far so good....

To the OP, you can buy high cap mags in California as long as they are in "parts" kits. Some shops that sell them take the 17 rd G34 mags off the wall, go in the back , disassemble them put them back in the package and sell them that way. Not sure what part of the state you are in, but if you are in the Sacramento area, Sacramento Black Rifle in Rocklin, has them in stock. You can also search Calguns.net for shops in your area. Also, the Uplula loader, as others have stated is a must!

Dillon gets all my business just for this reason!

+1 on the Vanek w/ lightened striker. Very happy with it

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll have to re-train my brain to do a visual check a station early.

Loading 9mm on an XL650 and want to add a Mr. Bullet Feeder but want to keep my powder check sensor. Here's want I am thinking and wanted to see if anyone else has experience running this set up.
station 1- U-Die/sizing /decapping
station 2- Powder/Bell/Prime-Dillon
station 3- Powder check sensor
station 4 Bullet Feeder
station 5- Lee seat/crimp die
Not sure if this in the right sub-category for this question, so if it is not feel free to move and I apologize in advance .
Any input would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

SIRT pistol
in Glock
I debated on shelling out the $$ for the SIRT PRO Model for several months. Finally decided to do it as I was bit by the competition bug. After shooting 20+ competitions straight every weekend, I decided more effective dry fire practice was needed. I bit the bullet and ordered the SIRT PRO and a 3 pack of mags. Started watching Mike's videos and instantly started to see my time improve dramatically at matches. I then started playing with the adjustments on the gun ( cranking up the trigger pull and break ) Then realized the gun was not functioning properly. Called customer service and spoke with Carolyn. She was extremely helpful and within one day she had a new gun in the mail to me along with return shipping for my original gun. The new gun showed up 2 days later and sent the old one back. What a great company to deal with! I was so impressed with the customer service especially the continued communication with Carolyn. She was the best. I am so glad I bought the SIRT and ended up winning my division today at our local IDPA match today. This really is a great product from a great company...

Those are some great points that I may have overlooked Thanks for the heads up. I'll definately put some more thought ( and calculations) into this before I start the build. Thanks again!

I have been wet tumbling my brass w/stainless steel media, a small amount of Dawn dish soap and a little Lemishine. I'm using a Thumlers Tumbler ( about $180 ) Tumbler for 1 1/2 hours( instructions say 4 hours, but I have experimented with thousands and thousands of pieces of brass and this seems to work best for means my lack of patience...) I then set the oven for 250 degrees. Rinse the brass in a media separator and pour the freshly rinsed brass on a towel on the kitchen counter ( my wife is the best! doesn't say a word, unless there is company coming over ;-) Then put the brass on 2 cookie sheets and turn the pre-heated oven off. Put the cookie sheets in the oven and walk away....I really push the envelope as how much brass this little tumbler can handle. I put LOTS more brass and less water( about 1" above the brass ) than the instructions recommend. I usually tumble 350-500 .45ACP or about 500-700 9mm. I am planning on building a DIY wet tumbler that can handle atleast 2k of 45 brass. There is a great thread on building a DIY wet tumbler on here if you search for it. Just my 2 cents, YMMV.Best of luck!
As someone who has made his own tumbler you think you want to tumble 2000 cases but in reality its not that feasible. 2k of 45 cases weighs approx 26 pounds. That means you want at least 26 pounds of ss media. Ideally 30 pounds. That's 56 pounds plus approx 2 to 3 gallons of water at roughly 8 pounds a gallon. So somewhere in the neighborhood of 78 pounds. Add the weight of the drum. 10 pounds for a drum. So 88 pounds. Not very easy to work with.
I do 1000 at a time. I wouldnt want to do more or I'd blow out my back and there would be water, ss pins and brass everywhere because working with that large and heavy a drum is a royal pain in the ass

Just got off the phone with MIke from CasePro. He said there are approx. 50 people on the waiting list about 4-5 months out. Good problem to have, I guess

Are you still USPSA Production legal if you remove the finger grooves? Thought that was an external mod that changed the profile.
NO, it puts you into Limited

I've shot over 20k of 230 RN in .45 and over 10k in 124 RN in 9mm with no problems at all

Yup, Charlie is great o deal with for sure. Shot an IDPA match today with the new trigger. Shot 2 clean strings and overall loved the trigger. Going to adjust pre- travel a little , but the trigger out of the box is way better than I am.....hmmmm, I may be running out of excuses for crappy shooting
Where to buy XDm 9mm mags?

Dawson Precision is a great company to deal with. Congrats on finding your mags
