  1. I'm no expert, but I do live in Nor Cal and shoot open. Whenever I shoot a match out of state, I just take my mags apart when re- entering the state so I only have " parts " and not importing high cap mags. I think you should be fine. Just my 2 cents
  2. Just ordered one....never could get my DAA RM to work right no matter how much I tried modifying it. Maybe operator error for sure, but looking forward to trying the "Manny Futuristic"
  3. This is a better explanation than mine. I probably went higher than I needed too in the frame. I just took a shot in the dark and went for it. Another member in a related post recommenmded "smoking" the mags with a lighter. This really helped to find the contact points in question that needed to be filed down
  4. There is a ridge on the inside of the frame. I think I started out with a file and removed a little on each side and continued to test fit. I then went to a Dremel and did the same. Once I got all the mags to drop freely, I went back and cleaned up with a file again. It's not pretty, but I don't notice it at all. Again, this is what worked for me and the whole "New vs.Old" debate is something I just chuckle at now whenever I see this come up. This just seemed like the most logical and simple fix. I had no intention of putting Mags in a vice, squeezing here and squeezing there, trying to "tune" a mag that should work,in my opinion straight from the factory. I knew that once I started trying to modify mags, the "warranty" went out the window, and the chances of me screwing up brand new mags was MUCH higher than me screwing up the frame. No mag catch hole mod either. Being in California, these mags are like gold. Hope this helps
  5. They will take care of you. EGW is a really good company with great customer service
  6. After I modified my frame, all my mags dropped free except for one of my two brand new 170's. Sent it back to Brandon, he made an adjustment to it and every things works flawlessly.
  7. Very minor mod to the inside of the STI frame and the new style SV mags work flawlessly. No spacers, no "mag tuning" no modifying the mag catch holes, or changing mag release ...nothing.Easy Cheesy. Save yourself all the headaches, get a Dremel and grind down the lip on the inside of the frame. Takes 10 minutes at best, and you will forget all about this "New style vs. Old style SV mags" and "STI w/ spacers" debate. The difference between the 2 mags is the New Style has the " Strayer Voit" with the Diamond etched into it and obviously the dimensions are a little different.Just look for the Logo etched on one side. I'm no gunsmith, nor do I claim to be some kind of expert in this arena, just a fellow shooter sharing my experience with this topic.Maybe I just got lucky, but again this worked like a champ for me. Here's the link that got the wheels turning for me. Good luck my friend and PM me if you have any questions. Just my .02 cents. YMMV http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=117850&hl=+new%20+svi%20+mags%20+in%20+sti%20+frame
  8. I've been running the Xtreme Heavy Plate 124's with no problems
  9. Was about ready to throw my DAA holster in the trash. Took it apart and mod'ed it as mentioned above. Now the holster with my PT grip is smooth as butter. Glad I didn't drop kick it across the street. Patience is not my strong point, but I do love a good project!
  10. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=188515 This should answer your questions. Worked for me...PM me if you have any other questions...
  11. Just wanted to say "Thanks" to everyone for their input on this thread. Just picked up my first Open gun and could only get "New" SVI tubes. Modified the frame and got 3 of the for mags to drop free without and modification to the the mag tubes . I'm going to call Brandon on Monday and exchange the one tube that wouldn't drop. Spent about 2 hours working on everything and had a blast doing it. The "smoke" trick works awesome!
  12. Yes, pics please. I have a SV with a PT grip that Will be here on 12/27. I'm very curious as to how your grip came out. Thx!
  13. One in .40 one in 9mm,RF100 and Mr.Bullet Feeder...Heaven
  14. Holy crap am i confused...I was lost 5 or 6 posts in....I Just looked at my Stock 2 and it has the Eric G Hammer and firing pin. DA is at 10+ and SA is 5.13 average and spongey. I don't have the balls to tear into this thing...I really have no idea what I'm doing....
  15. I just picked up a Stock 2 that has had the trigger done by a reputable vendor on this site that specializes on 2011's from what I can tell. To be honest, I think it sucks. I have a CZC Sp-01 Shadow with a butter smooth DA trigger that is crisp, clean and super short reset in SA. I'm looking for a Gunsmith that can replicate the feel of my CZ, if possible. I'm hoping to send it to the Gunsmith and pick it up at Area 2 in a few weeks. I know nothing about Tanfo's. Is it possible to get a a Stock 2 trigger to feel as good as a CZC trigger? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  16. Just received one for my SV. Had to do quite a bit of fitting as the slide wouldn't move. I slowly filed until the slide would move freely without dragging. All in all, this is a great product and it fits my hand really well. I was worried about the angle and the position of the thumb rest being a problem. But, it actually is in the perfect spot for me. I love it and it beats the hell put of drilling my frame. My buddy got one for his STI as well and it dropped in no prob.
  17. Ok, Thanks...have one of those too. My Stock II should be here next week!
  18. Will a Blade Tech for a SP-01 Shadow work for a Stock II ?
  19. Does anyone know what the stock height and width on a Stock 2 is? Also, is the stock front sight set up for POI or 6 O'clock hold? I have a Stock 2 on the way and i know absolutely nothing about these guns. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
