  1. Alright havent even read this yet but saw its already making fun of my state. My parents are not first cousins and i do not own or screw sheep. Now I will read the joke.

Edit: that was pretty good. Glad to see a WV joke not related to either of the above.

  2. I live near Huntington, West Virginia and seen two clubs close by that host matches. I am wanting to start competing this year and would like to know of more places I could go. So far I know of Putnum County Gun club and Ashland Gun Club. Only day I can travel to compete would be a sunday. I am willing to drive a couple hours any direction to get to a match. I searched my Area website and didn't see to much info on where I could go.

Any information you all could give me would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

  3. I wish you wouldn't have posted this. I just ordered my gun from Matt earlier this week and have many months to wait and it is already killing me. Your guns look great.

I'm in that club! I'm worried my head might explode before the months are up!

Well I am sure your ahead of me in line so when you get yours please post pictures so I can see how amazing his work is again. I know it is well worth the wait and the anticipation is killing me.

  4. Well Parsons, your questions hard for me to answer, as i have no other experience to compare the club to.... When is the next shoot over at Putnam? In terms of the range itself, I can say its well organized. The members of the range that run and care for it seem to be extremely dedicated to our sport, which shows come match time. I am hard pressed to imagine a better environment for fostering shooters who, like myself, are new to the sport. Most everybody present at the matches seem knowledgeable, and more importantly are willing and even eager to share their knowledge. It is a pleasant atmosphere where safety is taken very seriously. A very noticeable change from Beach Fork, where I feel as though I should be wearing body armor most of the time. :surprise: That being said I still find myself at Beach Fork at least three times a month,(sans armor) as there just doesn't seem to be an alternative.

I know what you mean by feeling like you should be wearing armor at Beach Fork. I usually just shoot at my house or at the gun club in Putnum county but every so often we go to Beach Fork. I am not sure when the next one is at Putnum gun club. They are supposed to be having some more meetings and gonna set the calendar up soon. Both clubs shoot in same division.

  5. TruePunisher, I don't remember which website it was on. It was on a google search and i clicked on a post to one of the gun forums and read it. It was mostly about their triggers messing up.

Also, I was wanting 5.56 because thats what my other AR is and would be cheaper buying ammo if they were both the same and didn't have to buy two different calibers.

  6. I know these topics are discussed over and over but I have searched many forums and can not really find what I am looking for. I know there are many other brands out there that are good but I have read nothing but good reviews on these two companies. The reason I can not decide between the two is because I am going to be using this gun for more than just competitions. I have read that JP is outstanding for competition but doesn't hold up great to harsher environments while Noveske is more duty use friendly. I am going to be using this gun at competitions but also out on my property doing run and gun and other scenarios with my friends.

If I go with JP the gun I am leaning towards is the JP-15 or even a lower cost one like the JP-15D if it is just as good but just not as fancy. With Noveske it will either be the Rogue Hunter or the VTAC in 16 inch. I am looking to spend at most $2000.

If anyone has another model they think I should look at between these two companies please let me know what model and any additional info as to why it may be better for me. Which ever gun I order will be in 5.56.

    Thanks everyone,

    Brandon

  7. Hey guys been reading here a lot lately as I am about to buy another AR. My name is Brandon and I am from West Virginia. I have been shooting for fun the past few years and recently my buddies dad joined a shooting range and they hold competitions. This coming year me and my buddy are wanting to enter as many as possible. I have never been in a competition so I am looking forward to it.

I have already learned a lot from reading on this forum and can't wait to learn more.

    Thanks in advance,

    Brandon
