  1. thank you, did not realize how slow I really was, I would say I timed out a lot but they let me finish

Are you kidding? I thought you did incredibly well for someone that also had to manipulate the joystick for your chair. It's all in the journey and very little about the destination.......enjoy the ride.

  2. Ok I got the video and finally had a chance to convert it from DVD to Mpeg4 so I could upload it to youtube. Right now it's on my account but if you want, you should open your own youtube account and we can get it up on there.

  3. Religious shooter, I have up to 7 pounds of Winchester 231 that I can spare. It won't come in it's original container because it's in my magazine in 70 pound kegs but I can put about 7 pounds into one jug for you. I am a Hazmat shipper so it would have to all be legal which means actual shipping from zipcode 28339 to you plus $27.95 hazmat fee to FedEx. Or if you can, pick up in Erwin NC at my warehouse during the week and avoid shipping and hazmat fees. I will only sell some to individual shooters at the same price PV has it for and only as a way to help people on this forum out. I think on PV it averages about $17 a pound. Please do not ask me to sell you this if you are going to try and flip it for 2 X's the price. And also please don't join this forum just for this powder. Members only as of this date and time. In case anyone is wondering I am a legit Ammo manufacturer that's why I have it in 70 Lb kegs.

  4. For people wanting 121gr Ifp bullets. I called them and was told to try 115 or 124 jhp as they are the same profile. They do not plan a run of 121's until it settles down.

It takes time to change machine over and that's time they can make bullets. Time is crucial to staying caught up.

They were up there on the website a few days ago but I already have 4 cases so I passed and got something else. I was also able to order a case of them on May 29th, June 4th and June 25th. Ya gotta keep looking because they are making them.

  5. I make my own lube. 10% pure lanolin 90% pure isopropyl alcohol. Dump about 200 to 300 in a shallow cardboard box with the seams taped. Push them all down flat on their sides so spray does not get in the mouth of the casings spray very very lightly then shake and pan. I have been using the same box for about 2 years so it has a nice patina to it. stopped buying lube a long time ago. I buy a gallon of alcohol and 2 pounds of lanolin on amazon. the lanolin is sold as a hair gel in the beauty section for about $8 a pound. the alcohol in the industrial section for about $50 a gallon.

  6. I can only speak to CZs service and customer satisfaction. I have been a happy customer for several years, have purchased many items and never a bad experience. I recently bought a PW autodrive from them specifically because of the great service they have provided me in the past. Just got tracking info and should have it next Wednesday.

  7. I'm not familiar with how QL works or how important the % burn before end of barrel is for determining efficient use in a compensator. But empirical evidence shows that the simple parameter of charge weight is a very good predictor of compensator function. You can see how PP compares with other gunpowders in a standard and compensated pistol in the link below.

Thank you, this was a very informative read and confirms much of what I have intuitavely learned over the years.

  8. I have a 110 pound keg of A2230 that I dont need. I will sell it in 8 pound jugs for whatever pv is selling it for. I am a hazmat shipper but my shipping prices from fedex are not as good as PVs, I dont have their volume. typically it costs me anywhere from $38 to $48 to ship a coupla jugs once you add insurance and the signature requirment. I can put up to 4 eight pound jugs in one box for the same $27.95 hazmat fee plus shipping. or pick up at my warehouse in Erwin NC and save shipping and hazmat... I work 3 twelve hour night shifts friday sat and sunday as a nurse at a hospital so I pretty much sleep the rest of the weekend....responses to pms will be sporadic till monday afternoon. during the week I run an ammo manufacturing operation in Erwin NC. I have other powders also. let me know what you need. please dont ask for powder if you intend to flip it. this just to help out fellow individual shooters.

  9. I too seem to consistently get a high rate of failure to gauge at the rim of Winchester 45 brass on a Dillon Guage. Drop checks fine in my Dan Wesson OCC and a no name barrel I keep handy. Other that that I am extremely fond of Starline Brass, the suff is just the bomb and I shoot it till it splits.

  10. I signed up on their website to be notified when they get bullets back in stock. That was awhile ago and now after reading this topic, I see they had stock but didn't notify me.... I guess this forum is better than their automated system???

And even better is to use mozilla as your browser and get the free add on called scanner update, navigate to the MG 9mm page, expand it to view all 9mm, right click and select scanner, set to scan every 15 min and select all/any changes. now keep mozilla open. there is also an app for android phones that works with mozilla.

Keep what you are looking for in your wish-list this way you just log in and quickly proceed to checkout with minimum keystrokes.
  11. when I am first setting up my toolhead (1050) I am not full at each station so I usually set the seating die so I am a few thousands long. like maybe 2-4 thousandths. then when I do my first test run I seem to fall right in place. having a micrometer seating die helps with the fine tuning. steady, consistent and even strokes really do have a lot to do with minimizing varience. I would not have believed how important it was until I got a ponsness auto drive on my 1050 and it really made a big difference in consistency of oal. Well that has been my experience. basically dont go banshi hog wild on the handle. slow and steady makea a big diff.

  12. Dillons case guage is very conservative and as has been pointed out above the only true guage is a drop check in your barrel. It is so conservative that often the rim on reloads will not seat flush, I find this especially true for some reason with Winchester brass. It is good that you investigated thouroughly since it led you to notice the over crimping. checking, double checking, walking away for a few min then coming back to triple check everything is good practice and well worth the time.

Congratulations on entering the world of reloading. It adds a whole new, wonderful dimension to the sport of shooting.

  13. I recently came into about 300 pounds of this powder and wonder if anyone here has had any experience with it. All I read seems to say that it's an excellent .222, .223 and 308 powder that performance wise is slightly slower than IMR 4198 and VV N120, equal to Accurate 2230 and slightly faster than Hodgdon’s H322.

It appears to be a beautiful, very fine, spherical, double base, ball powder that would meter very well. I am including pictures and some tables I have found.

I am about to pony up my money to be a dealer in the classifieds and this along with some other powders ( Winchester 231, Some Western Powders like ram shot and similar ) and primers along with pistol ammo ( yes I am a lic and insured FFL-06 holder with over 25 years of pistol loading experience ) is what I would be offering for sale.

Please do not contact me about buying this until I am official on this site, I will polietly decline the offer. I like this site way to much to break it's rules. I just want to know if anyone has personal experience with the powder. I am also willing to give a few pounds to a member that lives nearby in NC ( I live in Raleigh and my manufacturing plant is in Erwin ) if they want to try it and report back to the forum.

Thanks and I hope this post breaks no rules.

  14. I have no problem with 9mm Aguila brass. bought 5000 rounds a few years ago and have probably reloaded them 4-5 times without issue. Then again on personal stuff i'll reload till it cracks then chuck it out.
