  1. I have a small fortune invested in Para Canadian mags/Dawson base pads.

I ordered a Taylor Freelance base pad, installed it on a Mecgar 15 round mag for the Para.  These have not worked in Para pistols with a magwell.  It installed easily, I tossed it in the mag gauge and it had about a mm of play.

It fit perfectly in my two RIA doublestacks with Fattie magwell with 20 rounds of 40, reloadable.  I tried it on an ACT mag which turns out to be too long for the gauge without taking off a mm or so.  The ACT mag works with the Dawson base pads in the Para Ord.

I think the Mecgar for Para mags are about $20 and the TF magwell about $35, so a good deal in comparison.  I will need to do a function check also.

I cant thank you all enough for the positive and helpful insight on this topic. I have been saving for a while now and will continue to save. While I say that the Atlas Nemises is my dream gun, that will not be a first 2011 haha. I am waiting to come across a good deal on a used 2011 with a few mags to get me started. I have all the time in the world. But if any of you happen to come across any awesome sub $2k deals for a 2011 please let me know! If I can throw in my Glock 19 to help the price down I will be happy to do so! But until them I am going to continue to read the posts hear and keep learning from you all.

At times if I find a 2011 that I am interested I will share the link with you all to gain some insight as to what you think since you all are the subject matter experts and I value your opinions and advice.

Thank You all again and Semper Fi

I am looking for a G19 Gen3 for a Poly80 project.  I have a Para 16-40 in the safe.  I may be interested in some horse trading...

  3. I use the Lee 9mm, 40 and 45acp 4-die set for my progressive.  It includes the FCD.  I agree the Lee sizing die does a good job of taking out the Glock bulge but I do run the finished product thru a round checker.  I get 2-5 rounds per 100-200 that get put into the "Glocked" box for range use.

  4. I have the mags pictured.  The TTI pads fit the gauge but are a little tattered.  I assume these are the 3mm pads.  Will Dawson  “Basepad HiCap for STI/SV Extended Tool-less Design by Dawson Precision” fit and still keep me in the gauge?  They also say plus one, will it add capacity?

A refined index through repetition is the only way.

I would agree with this.  I tried the Glock with a dovetail insert and you really need to to this with the Glock.  Using the CZ or Witness the natural pointability helps a lot.  I draw the gun and use my index finger to index the gun.  The Glock index finger rides higher on the slide .  It does not take too many repititions to make it work.
