    9mm

I'm just getting into reloading, I do not have any problems with reloading the 9mm minor. Can someone help me with the formula to meet the 9mm major requirement? I am shooting a Glock 34 with a KKM barrel and a Jager comp.

    GLOCK 34

THANKS FOR THE HELP.... I went to the Autocomp reloading data information. I thought the major factor was l65. How many grains are you using and what is the bullet weight. I love this site, the people here are certainly helpful.

    GLOCK 34

Defiantly stay away from the ported barrel. I built a Open Glock 17L for a buddy of mine & it was kinda hard to make run consistently because the slide was soooooo long! He eventually bought a G17 slide & barrel & used his original comp. Now he is experimenting with comps, Jager, Carver (both minor & major) & SJC. His gun makes major with 3 powders, Power Pistol, HS6 & AutoComp with 124grn JHP's. AutoComp is the most consistent of all & feels the best to both him & I. He started his build using the Leupold Delta Point (bigger window then STS), but has switched to the SJC Mount & a full size C-More. If you want to do it on the cheap, buy a threaded barrel, a comp, which sight you like & a magwell, built some magss & have fun! Don't spend a ton of $$ if your only going to shoot it every once in awhile. Hope that helps

    GLOCK 34

Not a big fan of ported barrels. One thing you can do is leave the G34 top end as is and buy a bare G17 slide and get a kit from Jager that has a barrel, comp, guide rod, and C-More sight. You can swap in the internals from the G34 and put it on the frame and you have an open gun. Add a magwell and extended mag release as well if you wish.

    GLOCK 34

I have a Glock 34, that I had been shooting. Used it to shoot my first USPSA match in Production. I just got a STI, that I will be shooting in limited & limited 10 class. I just don't want put the gun on the shelf, so I thought about converting it to an Open gun. I have seen these on the internet and they look like a lot of fun. Any thoughts if this would be a worth while project. I already have a ported barrel for it. I like the looks of the JP sight, mounted right to the slide, the weaver mount makes the gun look to bulky. I would like to get pros and cons on the mounting systems. Also, I am just now getting into reloading will I be able to load the 9mm to shoot in major. I haven't made a study yet of what possibilities there are. It would be used merely as another type of match I could compete in. I'm a new shooter that has been severly bitten by the shooting bug. thanks....
  7. Thanks for the information, but!!! - what do you mean count the coils? I am confused, and a new shooter. What's the difference? I bet you can really tell I am a newbe.. thanks
  8. Thanks for the help, I just ordered the springs 1-12.5# & 1-14# see which one I like better.
  9. I am a new shooter and need help finding a spare guide rod and spring. Can someone please tell me if I can use a 5" spring or do I need to find a 6" spring. Also, were is the best place to get them. I am using Federal ammo for now, what wait spring should I get? Thanks, and can't wait to get into this pistol shooting.
  10. I have just received and STI 6.0 Eagle 40. I would like to get a couple of extra guide rod springs for it. Question, can I use the 5" spring or do I need to find a 6" spring, and were would be the best place to buy them? For now I am shooting Federal ammunition, what weight spring should I be using? As you can tell, I am a totally new shooter and have actually shot at 3 matches so far using a model 34 Glock, but my boys decided to by me a retirement present and got me the STI. Thanks - Steel3924
  11. Glad to see another Floridian on the site.
  12. I just started shooting USPSA pistol, and I am having a blast. I was an avid sporting clays and trap shooter but those clubs started to fall by the side of the road here in florida, the travel was and is getting more expensive. But, thankfully I have found something that is more challenging, social and just plain fun. I started with a glock (which I still and will always have) and shot production class with it. Now, after a great birthday present from my kids have a STI EAGLE 6". That is one fine gun. I started shooting the Limited Class with it. I was told about this website and I can see why you guys are here. The information is great. Well, I am looking forward to having a long relationship with this site. I want to wish everyone good shooting, and maybe someday our paths will cross here in a HOT! HOT! Florida shoot.
