  1. I've only ever had fixed sights on the Glocks I've used for production and the .40's I reload for USPSA are nowhere near factory. I do know that I need to cover an 8" plate 2/3 of the way up at 20 yards. This is a different sight picture than I need for the Limited gun which is almost a 6 o'clock hold. Then again, I don't shoot production very much. If you can't adjust for the fixed sight, then adjust the fixed sight ... send the slide out or get a local smith to put a bomar on it for you.

  2. Perhaps I need to sit more.

It normally takes a lot of rounds to find myself there, because I do love shooting so, but in the space between wanting to shoot and not wanting to shoot I just shoot.

Billy (different Billy than Richmond Billy) is standing in a metal shooting box. Can you see it?

Thanks for all the laughs to the shooters in Squad 2. Really rough day. I would do it again.

PS. I'm going to build that step on thing that lowered the window on stage 11. It was awesome!!!! I might even bring it to the range one day and put it in a stage :)

  4. I'm curious to know where you started on the list? I want to know how many "wait list applicants" made it in.

    I started out at 156.

Got a call last Wednesdy saying they had a slot for me (thanks USPSA) ... confirmed time off on Thursday (thanks boss dudes) ... going to the show ... my shooter number is 443.

  5. How many here are still waiting / hoping for a Production slot? I'm trying to decide whether to roll the dice or not.

As of this morning, I am number 8 on the waiting list for the Open, Production 10 National Championship.

  6. I've often thought about it, but I think it would be like cheating.

"It's not cheating if you're in a different time zone" ... wait wrong quote ... "it's not cheating if she knows about it and wants to participate then it's called manage a fun!"

Seriously, if it's working for you why change? If you need to save some time then go with the Dillion (minimum 650). Whatever you do ... NEVER get rid of the Rock Chucker. I did ... still regret it.

  7. That's why I wanted a backpack is because I saw your's, Alberto's and Dan's.

Yeah ... I'm jealous of that showoff Norbert's backpack too ... but, can't buy them here that's why I bought the blackhawk.

I'm posting it for comparison and maybe give some idea who wants to manufacture one.

If someone builds it, I will buy it and save the blackhawk for camping.

  8. I think that 38 super comp will give you a lot more options to play with as far as loads go (especially bullet weights) if that's what you're into. 9Major is not as economical as it used to be, but I still save some money and have a little more options than buying 1000k new starline every three months like I used to do.

I do not reload my or anyone else's 9Major brass after it has been shot. When I've been desperate enough for brass and tried to use them, the number of cartridges that failed to case gauge went up dramatically and more than the average number of case head separations seemed to happen.

I should disclose that my open guns are 9Major now and I do not have plans to go back to 38 supercomp.

value of a new factory Open gun just isn't there when you can spend a couple hundred more and get a full custom gun

+1 to this. My competition guns (even production) have become very personal to me over time. As you shoot and compete with it, your open gun will become tuned to you and you to it. If you shoot your open gun with IPSC regulatority, you will wear it out. Starting a relationship with a good gunsmith early will pay off in the future. There is some sort or magic or genius that our best open gunsmiths have that is impossible to replicate in your garage and even in the factory.

    High Performance = High Maintenance.

Will it cycle properly with 9 minor

My experience is that every gun is different. You have to try it out. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't.

    FWIW
