Thanks for the idea, I have a ton of old post around here, just have to wait for the snow to melt so I can find them back. Or wait for the ground to thaw and I can go pull some newwer ones

I just installed a cmc flat shoe trigger in one of my ars acouple of days ago. I have shot it a couple times to verify everything work right. I Like the trigger but the flat shoe will take some getting used of. Im just used of the pressure spread out across my finger from a curved trigger. You can rest your finger on the little tab on the bottom of the shoe and then the pull is very consistant. I was worried about not always getting my finger on the same place on the trigger and getting a differant feel from time to time but I dont think that will be an issue.

I always stand, plus it seems like alot of the stages that start you seated with a gun on the table also have you starting with the gun unloaded so in that case your loading the gun while coming up. No time lost there. If the start is with a loaded gun then unless its only a couple of easy targets I would stand up. It would have to be a real small stage to not have to relaod in production or ss. Always easier standing.

7000 of centerfire pistol
2500 rimfire
maybe 500 combined between .223 and 12ga
I would think that my 12ga count would be higher since I bought 2 shotguns last year, but I dont think that Ill shoot them much more in 2012 then I did in 2011

I wish that you would have posted this a day earlier. I just finished stippling a m&p at 10:30 last night.

Not to give anyone any ideas, but just wait until they disable fastfoward for the commercials on your dvr!

I was at a gunshow a week ago and it seems like there was a XDm 5.25 on every table. Makes a me think they just build the guns to get the numbers to get them on the list without caring if they had a home for them or not.

Any type of agility exercises would be good. The type of suff that we all did in highschool when warming up during football practice. We dont really have 3gun around here so I do mostly uspsa pistol, but the one of the biggest advantages that I have over other shooters is that Im very light and quick on my feet. When shooting a stage I never really have to think about moving because its so natural for me that I can focus on everything else that I need to be doing during a stage.

The biggest thing I noticed when gripping the .22 is the thumb safety makes the whole gun feel a bit differant then a Pro the way I grip it, but its the closest thing we have in a .22. You could get some cheap quality practice but make sure you also get plenty of practice in with the centerfired M&P before going to a match.

I know the feeling, since I got used of my m&ps I almost never shoot any of my 1911s anymore

I was also wanting to stipple my production m&p but I think that I might hold out for a while now. God knows that might be the next thing to be considered illegal on a production gun, then I will have to buy a whole new gun.

While I agree with almost everyone on this thread and in no way in favor of a 3# trigger rule, I think that if they want to keep production guns close to stock there are better places to start. I could see if they wanted to not allow people to not have aftermarket match grade barrels that could give someone a clear advantage, but to regulate trigger wieght is uncalled for. If we start to regulate trigger pull, one of the most basic necessities of a target gun, where will it end? People will leave the division because they will fear that thier gun will not be legal the next season. Why destory the one of the most popular divisions in the sport?
Just my $.02

I started with limited for a couple years then switched to production. I like seeing the combined division match results knowing that I finished where I did in what is one of the hardest divisions to compete in when it comes to combined division results. I also think that with the limited round count in the gun and minor only scoring make you work more on the fundamentals since you have to make every round count.
-
The limited round count in production mags will make you a better shooter just because you will have to learn to make all your rounds count so that you dont get caught doing a standing reload
-
m&ps seem to have a long sight radius for a 5" gun, the drop in trigger kits are very easy to do yourself, and they have the best grip size changing system of any gun
-
Never had to replace one at a match but i always bring extra fo rods just in case

dont know were the parts come from but para ord moved to from canada to north carolina a year or two ago.

ive had my slide lock back a few times also. normally with about 2 rounds left, but out of the 10000 rounds through the gun its only happened about a dozen times so i havent worried about it too much

mine shoots 147gr jacketed bullets with titegroup just fine, sounds like to much crip. You may have the seating die screwed down in the press to far. If you look in richard lees reloading book the directions for reloading handguns are differant for setting the seating die then the ones that come with the dies.

I have shot a cw9, I was surprised at how well it shot. I thought the trigger felt almost more like a double action revolver then anything else though. Ive shot my fair share of m&ps and glocks but never messed around with the compacts. If it was me I would go with the m&p or the glock. You should look at a Ruger SR9c also. They seem pretty thin and are very "glock" like or with ever one of the main poly pistols you want to compare it to.

My friend decided that it was time for an ar15 so he gave me the cash and I ordered a parts kits and it was shipped to my house for him. He was on his own for a stripped lower but I think that was cheap enough to get past her. I still dont think she knows. Not my problem if she finds out.

I looked at one last monday at a local sporting goods store. They said that they are having problems finding m&ps for stock right now so when they found this one they ordered it. They didnt ask what color it was. When they got it, they found out that the frame is a darker gold and the slide is a bright shiny gold. The sights, well yeah. Nothing tactical about the color of that gun.

Great advise, I think that one of the main reasons that people feel so much adrenalin and pressure in our sport is because its an individual and not a team sport. Team sports theres always someone to pick up the slack when you perform poorly. This whole thread just goes to show how important the mental aspect of the sport is.
m&p 40 trigger question
in S&W (M&P, etc)

the trigger bar should have a 1mm or so gap in it from the factory. Also the grit feeling will go away with some dryfire practice after the parts start to wear into each other. The gritty feeling is most likely coming form when the tab on the trigger bar contacts the firing (striker) pin stop in the slide.
