  1. Not go back to Production if/when I get flustered with my new division of SSTK. Remember I do not have 10 rounds and learn how to count no higher than eight. Take the safety off before yanking on the trigger....which would lead to other goal of more dry firing so I'm not slapping the trigger.
  2. Thank you for clearing that up! I was actually holding my 1911 up against pics of high rise found on Midway and Brownell.
  3. Been reading about them but embarrassingly do not know if I have or need (want) one. I don't get slide bite. Seems my grip is good. But any way to get a lower bore axis and higher grip would be nice. Does a STI Spartan and Trojan have a high ride or "normal" grip safety? What about a Springfield Range Officer?
  4. One of the things I did correctly last season was release my grip to complete a mag change and slide release. The gun just fit and could be flicked and come back to a nice front sight. Medium hands. Finger groove in left grip panel (don't know if that ever helped). Everything else I sucked at.
  5. I took a lesson from David Neth, and we discussed how many brains are disengaged when that buzzer goes off. For some it's fear. Others it may be the actual sound or public performance anxiety. Who knows. He told me to get excited! He looks forward to that buzzer sound. He knows the training was done, you're loose and can sprint, the equipment is good to go, and all that's left is to get the game going. I brought the topic up because I was having some Pavlovian type reaction. The anxiety of "when, when and will I miss." Who cares! When I hear "shooter make ready" I feel as if I'm about to get my match entry fee's worth. Wonder if I can make my cell phone ringer the exact sound of my Pact shot timer???
  6. Bookmarked! That Ed Brown looks good and priced right.
  7. Power Factor got hosed by the search engine gods. Website?
  8. Purely for gaming. Looking for a extended wide non-tactical/slim RH safety and Brownell's has great input about the Gunsite. About $41. Of course the Wilsons are about $10 less and the EGW are about twice as much. Brownells lists the Ed Brown as tactical only. I presume all are well made and are near drop-in. Or are there subtle differences other than price?
  9. Thanks. I'll try again tomorrow. I called COM a couple of days ago and they picked up no problem.
  10. Maybe the holidays 4 weeks ago set them back. SHOT show or traveling. But my emails bounce back and phone message not returned. It's been 6 weeks since ordering a COM competition belt. Thought someone would know the scoop before I tried again tomorrow.
  11. Thinking of putting a Techwell SP on my SSTK 45 and wanted to clarify a few things. The SP allows for a greater mouth opening than, say, a S&A, and you don't need extended mag base pads like the Dawson unit. The SP can work with any flat bottom grips ala VR4's mods, too; what is the advantage of not using the Techwell alumagrips? I need new grips anyway and a magwell but wanted to ask before making a $150+ investment. Thank you.
  12. My first match was a snowy windy day so I wore a big thick fleecy flannel hunting jacket. And since I had read all about grip tape and the benefits of a lot of grip tape, well, my G34 had enough on it for an entire skateboard store and the boat deck we rode in on. Buzzer goes off. Draw firearm. And pull out a giant ball of white fleece with a 9mm barrel poking out the end. Between the BANG of the 9 I could hear my friendly match competitors howling in laughter. I'm still laughing about that day.
