I did a ladder when I was going to get into service rifle and found that 24gr of Reloader 15 produced great results. That load also shoots good in my 18" 3-Gun AR so I stuck with it. I load on a Dillon 650 and only use LC brass.

Usually when there is a reduction in friction it causes lower pressures which will reduce velocity. Moly coated bullets would have a slight drop in velocity because of this.
comparing just one barrel of each won't give you any real data. I've seen stainless barrels from the same manufacturer with the same length, chamber, ammo, etc, and they can give significantly different velocities.
Barrels are weird like this.
What variations in those barrels do you think might account for the velocity differences?

I went with the Stretch-16 .308. Gun does double duty. 3-Gun heavy metal and thermal vision hog killer.

I use the plastic Magpul ones and take a 2" sanding wheel to the underside.

Wow. I wonder what happened. They made some great gear.

This is good, but I've always felt that tuning should start with the spring. I run as light a spring as is needed to strip the first round from a fully loaded magazine. After that, I use your method.
Thanks for the video! It's clear, to the point and well produced.

This carrier weighs 1.1 oz more than the JP steel low mass carrier. The AIM carrier group saves $53 from the JP group but doesn't come with JP's bolt. I like AIM, but this one doesn't look like a hit to me.

This is a second focal plain scope and a shift in point of aim point of impact is comon ...
This smells a little funny.
Yea, the POI on my SWFA doesn't shift with zoom.
-
Is the reviewers observation of POI shift with magnification change something others have seen too?
-
How's the eye relief at 6x? I went from a SWFA 1-4 to a SWFA 1-6 and was surprised how much smaller the eye box is on the bigger scope.
-
Whatcha gonna do with it? 3-gun? If so, there are better choices.
-
I'm surprised with that positive review, that there aren't more comments on this scope. They're available now, yet I don't see anyone talking about them.
-
They had one in stock. I just ordered off their website.
-
I did the same for now. Added .055. Dawson sells a .265 and I have one on the way.
-
Right. To match the stock sights, you'd have to use a .245 with either of these. Still, with stock sights my gun shoots high. I'll need a .265 front sight with either.

Thank you!

Can someone do me a favor please. My 17 Gen4 with Warren sights is shooting about 7" high at 25 yards. Can someone with the TTi sight set measure the rear sight height above the slide? I see that the front is .220 and I want to see if this will correct the problem or make it worse before I buy a set.

Keep in mind that what you read on the NJ State Police website and what the State Police tell you when you call them is their internal policy. It is not the NJ state law. I live on the border and belong to a club in NJ so I tend to stay current on NJ gun laws. It's probably a good idea to comply with NJ State Police, but not everything they advise is the law in the state.

Just picked up a Benny Hill Rolling Thunder. I'll be comparing it to Arredondo's and Miculek's. Bummed that the Rolling Thunder didn't come with a crush washer or anything. I fired up the lathe and made a spacer, but it was a PITA.

My friends from the NWRA recommended this site.
I have begun shooting in local matches held by the NWRA and joined the NWRA club. I started my firearm interests when I was living in Pittsburgh, PA. I have a KRISS Vector Carbine and recently finished building my Dissapator PSA AR-15 and got myself a Keltec shotgun. Im looking to find places where I can shoot them. Not boring stagnant ranges but interactive targets that require movement.
I have yet to get me Pistol License so no pistol shooting for me. Which is sad since I really suck at pistol. Oh well. I am having a blast shooting my KRISS at local pistol matches and look forward to utilizing the KSG in action shotgun matches.
Welcome. I'm in Rockland too. Just shot the West Point 2-gun match last weekend. Go up to the clerks office and get that pistol permit in. It'll take 4-6 months, so best to go get the process started.

Hey, solscud, welcome to the Forums. Which part of NY are you from? I'm going to be moving to NYC in the fall and I'm gonna need to look for a place outside the city to shoot, maybe you can recommend a few.
You're going to want to research NYC gun laws very carefully. If you have a collection of guns it will be a long and expensive process to get licenses for all of them. Consider the surrounding counties.

If I set mine all the way down it bumps the neck back too far. Best to set it, size a case and check it in a case gauge. Adjust to suit your press and die so that sized cases consistently pass the case gauge check. Don't worry that you shoot a Wylde chamber. That's just adds space between the neck and lands, but doesn't change any of the case dimensions.

I left a little skin on one of them. 5 of 9 from squad 3 left that stage with a bandaid. Of course, I'd do it again in a second. Twern't nut'n.
Side-charger convertible between semi-auto and bolt-action?

I built one like that in .458 for hunting with a suppressor. My thought was to get a few quiet rounds into a hog sounder, switch to semi-auto and fire for effect. Technically, it worked, but it wasn't really worth the trouble. Now I just leave the gas open and the side charger is just a curiosity.
