Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. This is indicative of our society that we live in. While unfortunate, this was not my primary rig, so whomever took it is getting my leftovers.
  2. I had the misfortune of leaving my LH ghost holster, safariland belt and 3 pouches c/w 150 rds of supercomp in 3 ammo boxes in a black bag in the parking lot at Universal rangeon Saturday. After somewhat of a time delay, I discovered that the equipment was never turned in to be claimed. I have ordered new equipment due to my mistake, but for someone not to turn in the found equipment is inexcusable. I guess not everyone in USPSA is honest.
  3. Some differences are: IPSC Make Ready - This command is given for an unloaded started. You may check your dot and if you point the pistol to within a 3' radius of where you are standing, you will not have an issue. If you rack the gun and drop the hammer with the trigger, you will be given a warning for the first occurrence and subsequent times you will issued a PE. This is noted on your scorecard. They will say something if you try and sequence the targets with your firearm. Load and Make Ready - This command is given for any start where there a round in the chamber. Again you may check your dot within the 3' circle but ONLY with a unloaded pistol. During the walkthrough, you are not allowed to have anything in your hand(s) to point at the targets with. Not a mag, coffee, towel, nothing. This might be considered to be over the top, but different ROs will call different things, don't put your fate in the hands of an official. Unless specifically restricted, the bounds of what is considered safe handling of a pistol reload or otherwise is 90 degrees in all directions (180) in USPSA. If there is a restriction like not pointing over a berm during a reload it will be stated. I have seen this in Europe but not North America. I think those are the main things that can cause you grief at least in Open. Good Luck! R&G
  4. Thanks for sharing the video and advice. I check around my area for some matches, etc. Thanks again, R & G
  5. Background: I shoot open in USPSA and have shot a rifle and shotgun but have never competed in 3 Gun and now live in Mesa, AZ. Question/Advice: Given my extremely limited knowledge of 3 Gun which is something I would like to try: 1. What equipment should I be looking for to compete in open in 3 Gun? 2. What would a ballpark figure of hard costs, i.e. rifle, shotgun (make/models/caliber), general equipment requirements to gear up? Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks, R & G
