  1. That's OK. I've already exchanged emails on the subject, and have it on good authority that the USPSA president is happy to grant "approved" status to the match despite the January changes. No problem having the buck-on-paper and still being a USPSA match. Cool, huh? Hey, speaking of which... Carl, will there be any place where I can function test a couple of things on Friday afternoon? In particular, I have some 8-pellet buck loads, and want to see if they "behave" the same as the 9-pellet loads through my chokes. (hey, nothing like being prepared *before* the match, right?) Bruce Bruce, hey question what buckshot # do you recommend going with? I'm heading over Friday night is there a hotel close to the range any help will be appreciated? cheers,

  16. I made major with 7.5g of True Blue with 124's. I had fireworks coming out of the comp that was very distracting. Sparkles of unburnt powder. It bothered me enough to abandon the powder. It's worth a try, you may not have any problems with your gun. I'll let you know after I burn another 40 pounds of the stuff. Hands down, it was the best load that I worked up. If you listen to the rumors and the naysayers....I'll be the first one to burn out a barrel. I'm using 115g MG bullets and HS-6. All of which are supposed to cause excessive wear on a barrel. I just picked the components that worked best in the gun that I have. Bobby- If you haven't gone through the entire post that 9Major-Caspian put a link to, you should. While my gun was being built I printed it out and highlighted every powder that was listed. I made a list of starting charges and bullet weights and then worked up a load for my gun with each combination. You have twice the information that I had a year ago... Use it!!! Good luck. THANKS A BUNCH! I REALLY APPRECIATE ALL THE INFORMATION. I WILL START WITH HS6 AND WORK MY WAY UP.
  17. THANKYOU FOR REPLYING, I HAVENT REALLY SHOT THE GUN WITH A MAJOR LOAD DO YOU FEEL THAT THIS IS A FLAT SHOOTING PISTOL COMPARED TO A FULL SIZE OPEN GUN. HAVE YOU EVER TRIED TRUE BLUE FOR POWDER. HOW IS THE HS 6 POWDER? WHAT IS YOUR LOAD FOR THE HS6 POWDER I CAN BUY SOME TODAY.
  18. Before you drill ANY holes in the barrel, you should first find out which powders will make major and how much room is left in the case. You may need all of the case volume just to make major. I doubt that you'll make major with a 3.9" barrel and holes in the barrel. I'm using 8.8g of HS-6 and 115g bullets. There is plenty of room in the case. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT TRUE BLUE? WOULD IT WORK BETTER THAN HS 6?
  19. HERE IS MY NEW STINGER, DO GUYS KNOW IF I HAVE 3 SMALL POPPLE HOLES MACHINED INTO IT; WILL THERE BE A PROBLEM MAKING MAJOR? IF CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OUT ON A LOAD FOR THIS GUN? I WILL BE USING SVI MAGS.
  20. thanks for the info, people are recommending putting three small popple holes, same as the brazos sx shorty to keep it flat. if I put popple holes do you think i can make major with the three powders listed? which powder would be best to make major with? with the popple holes. I am also using SVI mags. I just loaded up a few rounds to try I loaded 7.2 gr 7625 at 1.187 oal and the powder is almost to the top of the casing. if I go with 8.6 grains of HS6 will it over fill the case? I am new to open class; sorry to bother you with all the questions. I am wondering because my local gunshop has 8LBS of HS6 ready to sell me. thanks again. B-
  21. can you give me the OAL and Powder charge I should start out with for HS-6 and Silhouette also will SR7625 work good for 9mm open gun? thanks
  22. thanks, do you think i can get to major with HS6 and a 125 grain bullet safely?
  23. HELP PLEASE LOOKING FOR A (MAJOR)LOAD FOR A 9MM STI STINGER, I HAVE 5 LBS OF VIT N350 I NEED TO USE. WILL THIS POWDER WORK OKAY FOR THE STINGER?
  24. yes, we used a reamer that was centered by the bore. I am thinking about sending it to SV
  25. You should have a gunsmith check it =it could be all it needs is reamed I have a reamer and it sorta lines bores all of the comp. Jim Anglin I had a gunsmith ream it out to .374 we believe that it is a barrel issue?
