  1. All, I am loading .45 ACP on a SDB and am having some powder charge consistency problems w/ Straight Clays. If I set the weight to 4.1 I will do the six checks and get it pretty dialed in. Then after about 10 rds I will randomly check a couple and get a 4.6 or 4.4 then it will settle back down to 4.1. This of course terrifies me as I don't want that unexpected "hot" load to sneak up on me. Any one else having this problem using this powder. A friend and reloader told me that the flaky consistency of straight clays sometimes causes inconsistency. Help if you have it. OUT
  2. BE, Still can't figure out what the white thing is. My guess? The stolen front fender of your bike. Just a guess though.
  3. Carlos, Thanks for the quick reply. I am actually using Precision (and I use the term loosely after weighing them) coated bullets. This again was on a recommendation. I have read good and bad things about the Precision rounds, but thought I would give them a shot. I had the same thought on the max load and not making Major. So that in fact terrified me to load 200 over 4.3 and be out of max load recommendations.
  4. All, I am new to reloading and have done several exhaustive searches for IPSC load data. I, after reading many posts and speaking to several friends, decided to try out 200gr RN over Clays. Looking through the reloading books and on the Hodgdons web site they have no 200gr RN data for Clays only 4.3 for SWC. Has anyone toyed with this combination before, I am sure you have, and would be willing to pass on some info. As this is my first foray into reloading, I would hate to create a load and be afraid to shoot it. From the information that I could come across I loaded up about 30 rounds with 200gr RN over 4.3, but I have not taken them to the range. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  5. Even though I am normally just a scavenger on this site, I will take a stab to start the ball rolling. The place in the pic is Casey Moore's Oyster House and Seafood Restaurant, located at 850 S. Ash in beautiful Tempe. The Irish pub serves much more than Corona, such as Harp, Guinness and other Irish favorites. My guess on the distance from your house is "stumbling distance". Casey's opened in the Spring of 1986, but the historical site it inhabits was built in 1910. I will add more as I investigate further. Oh and look out for ghosts in the area as this place is rumored to be haunted. I can only assume, searching through past posts and links that Henning's is in reference to Henning Wallgren, as you stated a good friend and respected shooter. I admit that I am going about this post in an investigatory (if that is a word) manner, but it's what I do.
  6. A good friend of mine used to say: "When the Second Amendment ends, the second revolution begins." Not meant to be anti anything. He just never wants to see us end up like others.
  7. Barkim, I am a new shooter (to IPSC) and am working out the kinks in my rig right now. I have the Safariland 771s and love them. The only thing I would recommend is the oversized tension screws. I don't have them, but I belive Arredondo sells them. It makes adjusting them in the field a snap.
  8. Thanks for the help. I actually didn't see the 11 other pages in the reloading section when I wrote the intial posting. Also I had not seen BE's reloader breakdown. Got it now though. Thanks.
  9. All, I am new to the reloading scene, but have found that it is my best interest (financially speaking) to reload. The question is this. There are so many different items to buy, where do you start. Do I go with a Dillon SDB or a 550, do I want the indexing feature or not, what options should I invest in. I am looking for any information I can get. Which primers, which powder, who makes the best bullets. I'll take what i can get and hope to get steered in the right direction.
