  1. Okay folks, we were initially not going to announce how we are going to kick off the match this year and let it be a cool surprise, but we decided to let everyone know. We will be having the shooters meeting Friday morning at 0730 and immediately following the army Silver Wings will be jumping (free falling) into the match with a huge American flag. This should be very cool and something for everyone to enjoy and remember. With that being said don't be late to the shooters meeting Friday morning! We have also updated the match website www.tfd3g.com with this information. We will also have the stage designs posted soon. We are going over them now for final touches. Hope everyone is as excited as we are for this years match! Mike
  2. Hello folks, sorry for the lack of communication lately, but please be assured that we have been working very hard putting everything together for this years match. Shot Show was great and very beneficial to say the least. It seems that the word has spread with regards to the Task Force Dagger 3-Gun Championship. I had numerous people stop me to talk about it and ask if "what they heard" was true with regards to the fun but very challenging stages. The biggest thing that took place was the fact that ADAMS ARMS has signed on as the "TITLE MATCH SPONSOR"!! I think that it is safe to say that everyone has seen what Adams Arms has done for the sport over the past couple of years. Not to mention the fact that they have supported the Task Force Dagger Foundation as well as the 3GN/TFD Wounded Warrior 3-Gun team in a big way. They want to go BIG this year for this event and we are looking forward to working with them over the next 2 months to bring everyone a great experience that cannot be forgotten. Please get over to their website and check out their new products when you have a chance (especially their new C.O.R.) http://www.adamsarms.net/ We also have a very exciting event planned to kick off the match this year which will take place immediately following the shooter meeting on Friday morning. You won't want to miss it! Mike
  3. Anyone going to shot show! If so let's try to meet up. Reach out via email grediant@hotmail.com
  4. Haha, a bayonet is not required! Very creative and because of that post we actually went back and looked at our stage designs to figure out if we could incorporate something that involved a bayonet. Vtac is a great sling and another option would be the Armageddon Gear carbine sling which I personally use http://www.armageddongear.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=75 It works great for stages that have a lot of movement i.e. climbing, crawling, pulling, vehicles etc.
  5. Funny that you mention this because we actually looked at doing just that. However, and unfortunately it's not going to happen this year. You will however do some other things while shooting and some other things on the tower stage
  6. Folks, thanks again for all the great feedback. Andy and I just finished with our stage designs this week. I'm confident that all of you will enjoy next years match!! Also, JP Enterprises has came on board as a GOLD level sponsor for the match! They are also building a Task Force Dagger rifle with the TFD logo engraved on it. A portion of the proceeds from each rifle will be donated back to the foundation to support their mission to provide assistance to our Special Operations wounded warriors and their families. So, if you are looking to purchase a new rifle for the 2014 season please look to JP Enterprises. I think everyone know's the quality, accuracy and great customer service that they provide to the community. I cannot thank John Paul and his team enough for the great support that they have provided for not only the shooting and 3-Gun community but also the Task Force Dagger Foundation! Mike
  7. Thanks for all the great feedback folks! We will be at Legion next week doing initial stage desing so that we can get them all drawn up and posted for you after the first of the year. We look forward to seeing everyone. Let us know if you have any questions. Take care Mike
  8. Great match! I would like to say thank you to Hampton, the AMU action shooting team and all the rest of the crew for putting on a great match and ensuring that it ran smooth. Thanks to Legion for opening up their facilities to all of us and a special thanks to the sponsors that supported this match even though their 2013 budgets were already accounted for. This just goes to show you that there is great support for 3 Gun and outstanding industry partners. In closing the stages were not super long, but I promise you they were very well thought out and designed to challenge every skill level. When you walk away from a match and say that your two favorite stages were the ones that you did the worst on says something! I will be back next year for sure. This years match was just a taste for what next year will bring knowing the team that is running it. Great job guys! Mike Cassidy
  9. We have not completed stage designs for 2014 but I would plan on having a sling for both your rifle and your shotgun. You will not sling both of them at the same time. The match will be challenging but def. not impossible. Expect to be able to shoot fast, be accurate, have patients from time to time, know your holds, bring your mental game etc. oh and of course, don't worry about not having enough targets to shoot at! 2013 was great and we are planning to step it up in 2014 with some new twists, challenges and excitement. If you shot the match in 2013 please feel free to chime in and help everyone out with regards to your experience and expectations. With all of that being said, I don't think you will regret shooting this match. It will be a great one to start off the season with! Mike
  10. Samson Manufacturing has signed up as a sponsor for 2014. Thanks for the continued support!
  11. You will not be "approved" to shoot the match and you will not be able to "squad yourself" until payment is received.
  12. Thanks for the message. We will get the link up on the match website as soon as possible to further assist the shooters with registration. Take care Mike Cassidy
  13. Well I'm glad to see that folks are as excited about the 2014 TFD3G match as we are. As some of you stated, the match should be "somewhat" easier this year with less heat, but we promise you that you will be challenged in some, way, shape or form at some point throughout the match. We are going to work hard this year to ensure that the match is ran smoothe, but still maintain the excitement and challenging stages with a great prize table at the end. I have already started receiving emails from sponsors and the wheels are in motion with regards to everything else included in running a great match. We look forward to seeing everyone in March and will continue to keep you posted as things progress over the next few months. Take care Mike Cassidy
  14. The 2013 TFD3G is in the books!! Thank you to all of our great sponsors that made this event possible as well as Legion OTG for allowing us to utilize their facilities to host. Thank you very much to all the great support from the staff and RO's. They worked their butts off and it would not have been possible without them. I hope that everyone enjoyed themselves at the match. Congrats to the winners Daniel Horner in Tac Optics Jerry Miculek in Open James Casanova in Tac Iron Steve Wall in Heavy Metal Scope Please be sure to contact the sponsors and thank them for the great product that you were able to pick up off the prize table. Their continued support is paramount. Also, thank you to the vendors that took the time to set up during the match and further support the event. In closing, I would like to thank the members of the 3GN/TFD Wounded Warrior 3-Gun Team for participating in the match. It was amazing watching them shoot the stages. Thank you very much for your service and sacrifice for this great nation!! You are truely amazing Hero's and I/we greatly appreciate your service. Take care and I look forward to seeing everyone throughout the year at various matches as well as at the 2014 TFD3G! Mike Cassidy
  15. Folks we have been setting up for the past 2 days. Sorry for no response to your questions. Every stage will allow you to work out of your car at this time. You should only have to carry your gear 50-75 yards at the most to get to the staging areas. That is if you are the very last vehicle to get to that stage. Most of them are fairly close to where you will park. I will be able to tell you more later, but its just Andy and I with 1 helper setting up every stage at this point. Things are coming together very well except for the weather. It has rained every day since Friday so it has made the facility a little muddy. We are hoping that it will dry up a little before the match but we shall see. If I have not mentioned it before......you may want to make sure you know where your slugs are hitting. See all of you soon.
  16. Folks, I've been getting quite a few emails asking about schedule and times for the match. If you have not read through this forum to gain all this info, we have published the basics on the match website. Look on the first/main page just under the TFD logo. Registration will be from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday afternoon. Shooting will begin each morning at 7:15 Sharp. That means all shooters at your stages ready to go hot at that time. We are not going to do the normal shooters brief before the match. The RO's will give you your shooters brief at your first stage prior to your stage brief. Hope this helps. See you at the match.
  17. Gents, the squad list will be available during registration next Thurs. It will not be published before then. We will be starting set up first thing in the morning. We look forward to seeing everyone at the match. Mike/Andy
  18. We are only 15 days out from the match and we look forward to seeing everyone there. I wanted to let everyone know that there will be food on site for purchase each day for breakfast and lunch. The stages should be fun and challenging throughout the match. We have some really nice items on the prize table thanks to our great sponsors that are supporting the match. They have really stepped up big time for this event. We will have a couple side matches going on for those of you that want to shoot a little more and have a good time. There will be a zero range available for your use throughout the duration of the match. We will also have some vendors that are planning to set up tables with some of their product on display so please be sure to swing by and check out what they have as well as thank them for their continued support with sponsoring all the great matches and ours. If you have any questions regarding stage description, rules, sponsors etc. please head over to the match website www.tfd3g.com We look forward to seeing everyone in a couple weeks. Mike/Andy
