Just checked some brass I started using Armor-All Wash & Wax with
Carnuba wax back in March with, its still shiny.
-
Try Armour-All Wash & Wax with Carnuba wax.
I started using this with wet SS tumbling a
few months ago, with a touch of Lemi-Shine RINSE AGENT
and COLD WATER. Seems to work at preventing tarnish
on my handgun brass.
-
Canned air, blow into the hole with the little nozzle, it
should pop it right out.
Check to see if a PENCIL MAGNET will get it.
-
Max it,
Almost forgot, I also took up being an
NRA Instructor at a private club mostly.
-
I find using a Micrometer to measure the crimp diameter
is better than using a dial or digital caliper.
The Lee Factory Crimp die is DIFFERENT design for Rifle
and Pistol. The pistol design has SCREWED UP many a lead projectile by
making it undersized and the results are leading.
razorfish is correct, many new loaders believe that the CRIMP
HOLDS THE PROJECTILE, it DOES NOT, case tension holds holds it.

Max it,
I'm retired and got back into shooting,
then Reloading and Casting, then Coating all for a hobby
to keep occupied. Now I seem to be heading time wise
like a full time job. I purchased completed projectiles
also, from Bayou, & SNS.
I've in the past used Lead from Penn, Quality Cast, Hornady
& ZERO projectiles.
I have some of the NEW projectiles from THE BLUE BULLET COMPANY
that a friend gave me some samples of and I've not loaded them as of yet.
They're 158 grain .359 SWC NO LUBE GROOVE.
I use HI-TEK coatings from Bayou to coat with and
presently have an order on the way from Gateway Bullets
of the NEW "DRY MIX HI-TEK" product.
Donnie's order has not yet left Australia. (he ordered a bunch I hear).
I find the Casting and Coating to be RELAXING just as I find reloading to be.
-
I think I'll start with 3.5 grains of VV N320 on the Bayou 124 TC
loaded at the C.O.L. of 1.080 for my CZ's. (SP-01, P0-1 Compact)
Go up to 3.6, 3.7, 3.8 We'll see.
The CZ SP-01 seem to shoot well INDOORS with the Bayou COATED
147 grain RNFP and 3.2 grains VV N320 loaded at 1.130/1.135.
-
Bayou, SNS, Gateway, LNL, and now BBI has now switched coatings,
all these use the Australian HI-TEK polymer coatings.
Blue Bullets uses their own color/process.
There are other manufacturers using ELECTROSTATIC TYPE "POWDER COATING"

jc3257,
Always use YOUR BARREL and try the PLUNK TEST to verify profile.
Test the final length for magazine fit and that A DUMMY also cycles.
-
Tripod,
WRONG projectile, I was looking for info on the
BAYOU 124 grain TCG profile(grooveless) as in NO lube groove.
-
razorfish,
Correct, the dry mix will be easier to mix up, add your own
Acetone, coat/dry/bake/coat/dry/bake/SIZE/load/shoot.
You can coat/bake 200/300 at a time IN A DEDICATED CONVECTION
COUNTERTOP OVEN (it can never be used for FOOD AGAIN).
-
razorfish,
Thanks,
The newer HI-TEK colors coming out have better/better catalysts.
Gateway Bullets presently has the newest DRY POWER HI-TEK mix
that has the color/catalyst already together in DRY form, that
makes it easier for self casters/coaters to apply.
DONNIE'S order of the newest colors and dry mixes has not yet
arrived in the US from Australia.

My CZ SP-01 and P-01 Compact will load the Bayou Coated 147 RNFP at 1.130/1.135.
To use the Bayou 124 TC (Coated Groove-less) I need to set C.O.L.
at 1.080 (with a safety factor) to pass the PLUNK TEST in both firearms.
I was looking for a possible start charge with the Bayou 124 TC and VV N320 powder.
-
I may just have to make up some with that new tube place to order from.
THANKS.
-
I use the Roller handle on the 550 but have just replaced it with
a Inline Fabrication ERGO Roller handle, I like the reach as I
load in a standing position.
-
Just looking for any load info for my two CZ's.
1 SP-01 and 1 P-01.
I want to try these Lead 124 TC Grooveless projectiles.
Been shooting a few of Donnie's 147's.
Looking to load with VV N320 powder but could use ANY LOAD INFO.
I've been using some of Donnie's New Color coatings HI-TEK Red/Copper
as of late, but these were only available this past Monday in
Green or the GOLD that these are.
-
I been trying some different samples (100 packs)from Donnie, I've ordered
in the morning and two days later they're in my mailbox.
You just can't beat that for great customer service.
-
I cycle charges into a small pill bottle a few times and dump back into the hopper,
then I drop 10 charges into it and weigh for an average charge.
If I take a break, I repeat the above.
When finished loading for the session, I drop 10 charges and get the average.
Constantly checking your work is a good thing.

Go over to thefirearmsforum.com
go to AMMO & RELOADING,
Look for the Hornady LNL-AP press Hints and Tricks"
It's a complete video series on the press and well done
by 76highboy.
Look for the video on the Priming System, it shows you
how to set it and check it.
If it's off just slightly you apply added stress to the
Black mounting piece and it breaks.
Some people have added METAL BACKING PLATES.
DON'T FORCE THINGS, look for causes and fix them.
-
The Dillon Square Deal ONLY USES DILLON PROPRIETARY DIES FOR THAT MACHINE.
They are not dies you are accustom to seeing.
Other Dillon presses use industry standard dies 7/8-14 thread including the "U" Die.
-
HI-TEK "DRY POWDER MIX" is now available in limited quantity
from Gateway Bullets, a larger DRY MIX order for Donnie at
Bayou Bullets has not yet been filled in Australia.
The Dry Mix has the Color and Catalyst already together,
you just add ACETONE and mix-tumble your projectiles-dry-bake-repeat.

Have a look at americanworkbench.com
American made, he makes tables and benches for all
kinds of hobbies and crafts, big work tables also.
Nice stuff!
-
Shot some NEW 147 RNFP in the RED/COPPER HI-TEK coating from Donnie at Bayou.
My CZ SP-01 Target looks like the 147 RNFP over 3.2 of VV N320 1.135 c.o.l. will be
something to work with.

When the rotor ROTATES to the top, does it "CLICK" WITH AUTHORITY when it hits
the TOP and the BOTTOM of the slot?
Is the POWDER FUNNEL getting a GROOVE wore into itself,
originals were not heat treated, I don't know if they are presently either.

I put a CLEAR SHEET PROTECTOR inside my measures tube.
The powder never comes in contact with the tube.
