Unfortunately due to a leg injury I have to drop out of this match.
I'll still be there supporting friends, but unable to compete.
EDIT:
Working with Sheldon to fill my spot and give one lucky individual 3 days of fun!
Excellent.

Yep. Must fall to score.

Not official, but enough for preliminary planning purposes.
Approximate Round Count- 200 Rifle, 150 pistol, 75 birdshot, 10 slugs and 10 buckshot
Is this an approx. count for WWII division? or will theirs be less?
The round counts are based on tactical, which assumes 2 hits anywhere on paper to avoid a penalty (1 A/B on paper, but 2 anywhere), so WW2 will use less since only 1 hit on paper is required. But steel is the same number of rounds. And the shotgun rounds are the same regardless of division. The mix of paper/steel has not been announced, so no exact count.
Thanks Lee.

Wait, buckshot? To quote Sam's opening line in every episode of Quantum Leap, "Oh boy..."
I had the same thought.
Always a first time to shoot buckshot in competition.

Not sure what their lead times are like, but here are some Ammo Pouches for the Garand.

Hey guys, got a pretty cool story for you. I attend church with a veteran of the Pacific War. His father was on Patton's General Staff at the same time he was on the other side the world as a US Army captain serving in the Pacific Theatre. I was telling him of the upcoming match and the theme. He was very interested in hearing about what 3 gun is all about. He is also a big fan of the Pacific War Museum in Fredericksburg that will have an exhibit there. I was trying to figure out how to honor him somehow during the match and talked with his wife about it...
This past Sunday he walked up to me handed me a bag and said he would be honored if I would wear his Captain's bars on my hat or shirt during the match...they haven't been worn on a uniform in 65 years...
I am not worthy...but I an honored to do it.
My grandfather served in the Pacific.
I have a # of his medals, and was planning on doing the same.

Georgetown and Round Rock would also be good choices. Jump on Hwy 29 for a straight shot to the range.
-
College Station is going to be one heck of a drive. Hope you don't have to do it.

Walmart has a Remington bandoleer for around $5. Get that as a minimum. slower than loading form the belt/side saddle, but I have to think it will be faster than the dump pouch.
-
My home scale has accuracy issues, but around 10 lbs.
-
Not mandatory, but I also recommend:
9. Round off the back, underside of the barrel, where it protrudes into the breach. It's rare, but you can hange up a sharp edged shell on the bottom of this lip as it is being lifted.
Anyone have a pick of #9?
Thanks.

About this not seeming right nonsense...the match is a tribute to the men and women of the US Armed forces during WW2, The hope was to get a small...very small taste of what it was like using equipment from that era. I wholeheartedly disagree that anyone would have gained a competitive advantage over shooting a single stack, pump, and Garand. If anything you'd be at a disadvantage. For those of you that chickened out because of what you thought would be inappropriate...you totally missed the boat and I am extremely disappointed. It wasn't abpout winning or 3gun nation. It was about guys like Thomas Baker Citation. Tragic that so many are so short sighted these days...
I (Like) this!
My Grandfather served in the Pacific. I can only imagine the things he and his brothers in arms went through.

Still a desert, but we have had more rain this year than last. Maybe there will be less dust this year.
I am still bringing a shemagh though.
-
As long as it is the same as last year, personal vehicles were not allowed in the bays.
Park in the parking lot and carry everything. Carts are a bonus.
Not enough room for everyone to bring cars in.
-
No finish time yet afaik. . To be safe would suggest a late flight.
-
So what are no shoots going to look like?
Bunnies.

Not so much as dumbing down, as it is "Politically Correct" targets. It is going to be on NBC sports.
I hate those Circles... Get'em!!!

Asked them on FB about ranges and pasters, here is there reply...
For 3GN Pro Series matches, we will have red and black pasters on-hand. And no, we won't be using these at long-range, just distances extended past mere "hosing" ranges. -
Thoughts?
3 Gun Nation Pro Series Targets
I like the instant feed back, but the mention of extended range for rifle targets is concerning. Going to be fun to run out and paste those. How "extended" are they thinking?
Also, will they require red and black pasters?

Forgot about them (usually do not make it that far north)

Sorry, should have clarified.
Excellent for the shooter you are helping, and for your generosity.
Def sucks for you. But glad you will still be able to attend and offer support.
