  1. The SV thumb safety is extra wide. It is just under a half of an inch wide. It is also just low enough for a high grip, but not uncomfortable for people who have small hands. They are made out of solid billet steel. The bottom side of the safety is already cut for .25 radius grip safety. So no trimming when you install, just drop it in and fit it to the sear.

  2. Hello: The Blade Tech for a 6" STI with a full length dust cover will hold just about any pistol. Sean at Power factor Shooting may be able to help you on that one. I have even used it for a Glock 34. I am not sure if Ready Tactical make one as well. You could check with Chris Patty(CPWSA) for that one. Thanks, Eric

Thanks for the reply. My main concern is the SV trigger guard fitting in the footprint of the STI trigger guard.

  3. I am looking for a kydex holster that will accommodate a 6" gun with a SV steel grip. Can I order a regular STI/SV 6" blade tech, or is the SV steel grip trigger guard a different size?

I guess if someone has a holster for a Edge and happens to have a SVI with a steel grip can you try to holster it in the regular STI blade tech holster. If it works for that it should work for my application.

    Any help is appreciated.

  4. Joebob was a local shooter to my area. I have seen this gun run in at least three matches. He has seen some of my guns and wanted to build a custom gun. He ordered all the parts for that gun and sent it off to the smith. He purchased a STI trojan from me and decided to sell the edge to recoup parts cost. I glanced over the gun before he sold it. I even tried to talk a friend into buying this gun. This edge was in pristine condition the grip was not even undercut. I knew about the slide stop braking and had seen the broken slide stop, but that is not related to the link failure. There was just no way to know that the link was going to brake, especially since the gun was in that good of condition. I can assure you that this gun was sold in good faith,

When the gun comes back from STI it will be like new.

On the other hand the buyer probably inspected it and thought there is no way there could be anything wrong with it.

If I was in this same situation as the buyer I would be pissed no doubt. If STI is going to warranty it then the buyer gets the closest thing to a new gun because there is not a scratch on it.

This is all over pretty much $50. If he returns the money it will cost $35 to ship it to STI and he could easly sell it for what he sold it for originally. If the buyer sends it to STI he will be out $35 for shipping. The biggest issue is just the inconvience of sending it in or returning it.

If he decides to return it he is out maybe $35-50 and ten days of waiting for it to be repaired.

If the buyer decides to send it in then they get what they wanted originally but has to wait 10 more days

Either way its inconvenient, but its not like this gun is destroyed, and they are arguing over $2000. Someone just make a decision who is going to spend $35 and send it to STI.

like I said it is a good looking Edge

  5. Taking the buyers side for a moment...

There is no way that I could have forseen that a barrel think would break and if I would have I would rather had it happen to me and had it fixed.

    umm... the slide stop broke.

How would you feel if you bought a gun that broke the barrel link in less than 50 rounds? Lets say you never even took it apart and went out to shoot your brand new gun and it broke in less than 50 rounds? You telling me you wouldn't be upset? Are you saying you wouldn't want your money back? Seriously?

As the buyer, I would be looking at the for sale ad. In the ad, you state it broke the slide stop. You knew it should not break and you replaced it without repairing what caused it to break. How is that "in good faith"? Then you claim the 4 mags were in excelent condition. Every pic you posted of them they are turned everytime so you can only see the feed lips on one mag. Is that good faith too? I can see in one of the pics a flat spot on the feed lips on one of them.

I guess my point is if you put yourself in my shoes (the seller) how should I potentially get screwed on a deal that I did nothing wrong in and could have done nothing to prevent

It's not about getting screwed. It's about doing the right thing.

I know there is now way for you to know this because you never saw the broken slide stop. The slide stop broke on the out side of the gun because STI slide stops suck. I had a sti slide stop on my edge that broke in the same spot. The broken slide stop has nothing to do with the link being to short. It came from the factory like that. There is a way to check for the link being to short, but who thinks to do that.

  6. A double charge won't just break the barrel link.

If it were me you sold it to and it broke as described, I would be demanding my money back as well, especially since you knew it had already broken one barrel link. I would not for one minute entertain sending it to STI, that's your problem.

It previously broke a STI slide stop not a barrel link. That was the first barrel link broken in the gun.

  7. How old is the gun? Is a stock STI edge or custom build?

I would first call STI and see if they can fix it. Either way, get the gun back and then resell it. Barrel links break, more so if the barrel was not fit properly from the factory.

Links are a part i change out every couple of years just be on the safe side.

I happen yo know enough about this situation because I know him personally to answer your questions.

It is a stock edge very lightly used.

He called STI and said they would fix it, as long as it was not shooter error like a double charge

  8. I seem to get it. When I shoot a group from a bench I seem to flinch but when I am on the clock it totally goes away. I have a video from the Georiga state match from were I shot empty, reloaded and pulled the trigger on a empty chamber and nothing moved but the trigger finger. I was impressed with myself.

It is weird, when I take my time I think about recoil. When I am in a match I think just about making the shot, and not about what happens after I pull the trigger.
