  1. Are you going to get a byfocal on your shooting eye and leave the other lense unmodified?
  2. I pulled out a limited gun for the first time in a while and I noticed that there is a black blur on top of my gun where the front sight used to be. For one match, I put on some off the shelf reading glasses and discovered that I could see the front sight but the targets were a bit blurry. Here is what I am thinking of doing: Go to the eye doctor and get a perscription for a right bifocal and a left plain lense. Has anyone tried that? Did it work? Did you take a gun to the eye exam? I have seen some shooting glasses with changable outer lenses. Any thoughts?
  3. I didn't give complete details. Rumore-has-it that the situration that caused the rule change was a big name got DQed from a big match because he fell and engaged a target from the ground. The two Alpha hits went over the berm. The rule was changed. One way we keep bullets inside the berm is to DQ shooters when they send one out. As a match director, you do vet your stages but... you might not notice that if a target is engaged from 2' off the gound instead of 4' (a very short shooter) the round might go over the berm. So, how do you stop it, within the rules?
  4. Sorry if this has already been discussed but... 10.4.1 A shot, which travels over a backstop, a berm or in any other direction, specified in the written stage briefing by the match organizers as being unsafe. Note that a competitor who legitimately fires a shot at a target, which then travels in an unsafe direction, will not be disqualified, but the provisions of Section 2.3 may apply. I don't like the thought of a round going over the berm. Many of the ranges I shoot at are in urban areas. A round over the berm could shut down a match and the entire range. Under the Red Book rules you would DQ the shooter. Under the Green Book rules, there is no penalty. One solution is to put in a requrement that "Shots are fired while standing". That would mean a procedural for every shot fired. Has anyone else come up with a better solution? See you at the range Tom Neal
  5. I just finished entering applications. The match is filling up. We are only going to have 120 shooters this year. (8 squads of 15) For informatin about the match: www.TexasSouthSection.com See you at the range Tom Neal
  6. I went back to the USPSA web site http://www.uspsa.org/classifiers/03-03.pdf The classifier is still the same there Where did the image at the top of this tread come from? See you at the range Tom Neal
  7. Boxes? I went here: http://www.uspsa.org/classifiers/03-03.pdf But I didn't find any references to shooting from either box You start in Box A and you move to Box B same as earlier See you at the range Tom Neal
  8. Thanks for the update I guess I could have researched this myself but ... See you at the range Tom Neal L2362
  9. Someone wrote about a 18 months ago that the High Hit Factors for Revolver, Production and Limited 10 are just a percentage of the Limited HHF. Has that changed? See you at the range Tom Neal
  10. I am thinking about an all classifier match for those that want to move up. Which classifiers seem to score high when they get to Sedro Woolley? Lefty's Revenge and Man Down seem to score high Recently Six Chickens had the high hit factor lowered Indoor Rapid fire standards is no longer available. See you at the range Tom Neal
  11. From the 70's Dick Nixion He's aready dicked you. It's national sex week don't let your meat loaf VD is nothing to clap about See you at the range, Tom Neal
  12. Ok So you get both feet in Box B Does that mean you have "Moved to Box B" Once you have accomplished that task it doesn't matter where your feet are. Or Does it? See you at the range Tom Neal
  13. Why YES I was tring to buy VV powder. Thanks for the clarification See you at the range Tom Neal
  14. 4/29/2005 - 5/01/2005 Space City Challenge 2005 Point Series USPSA Level III Tournament 9 stages (6 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday) http://www.texassouthsection.com/SCC_2005/ssc_2005.htm See you at the range Tom Neal
  15. This summer I ordered some gun powder. It never got shipped because "UPS was reworking their Haz/Mat Rules for Gun Powder". Did that ever get worked out? See you at the range Tom Neal
  16. Is it just me or did anyone else notice that there was nothing in the stage description that required you to shoot from a box? What would your time be if you shot the two on the left from Box A. Shot the two on the right while moving to box B Put one foot in Box B and blasted the steel? Can you see any procedurals baseed on the course of fire? See you at the range Tom
  17. Thanks for the kind words. I have 6 bays to work with for sure and maybe 7. But the 7th bay (we have used it in the past) is out of the way. I though I would limit each bay to 30 rounds. So... on the Saturday bays that are doubled up. They could be shot almost like two strings. It is an inovative way to maximize the the number of LAMR on a 1.5 day match. And minimize the Sunday tear down time. When you think all the score sheets are in. Tear down and put away 1/2 the stages. If you need a reshoot, the stage is still set up. See you at the range Tom
  18. I am considering a different format for a major 2 day match and I want opinions on what could go wrong. Would you enjoy a major match that had 8 stages in 6 bays (only 1 squad per bay) that would be shot on Saturday. Saturday evening the match is torn down and replaced with 2 copies of 3 stages to be shot on Sunday morning. (6 bays for 3 stages) The of the 3 stages on Sunday, 2 would be classifiers and 1 would be similar to a classifier in that it would have precise measurements and set up instructions. Or describing the Sunday part of the match differently Bay A & B would each be set up with classifier CM99-xx Bay C & D woud each be set up with classifier CM99-yy Bay E & F would be set up with a non-classifier stage with very precise measurements. Odd numbered squads would shoot A, C, and E Even numbered squads would shoot B, D, and F This would allow everyone to finish by Noon on Sunday. Has anyone set up a Sunday like this? What protests did you encounter (or would you expect) from the shooters? See you at the range Tom

  20. Nope. Not factor by a long shot. It's been to the smith many times. Maybe it's just time for one more trip. See you at the range. Tom Neal
  21. My Para Ord P16-40 just started going to 1/2 cock I had a magazine problem. (Rounds were nose diving into the feed ramp even after a new spring.) I started testing how many rounds I could load before the problem occured. About 5 or 6 into it, the gun went to 1/2 cock. I tried a couple of more times. Then I got nervious and went to an empty mag. When I drop the slide on an empty magazine it sometimes goes to 1/2 cock and sometime the hammer follows. I plan to head to the gunsmith this week unless someone has a suggestion. Tom Neal
  22. The body is cracked. It's going back to C-More See you at the range Tom Neal
  23. By the way. Did I mention that the gun was built by Bob Londrigan In the 17 to 20 thousand rounds it's only had a handful of failures. (I don't practice, I just shoot local matches.) None of the failures was a gun problem. My daughter was able to limp-wrist it into a stove pipe. I changed the mag spring in "the big stick" to the wrong size and it became unreliable until I installed the correct one at Bob's suggestion. A few "ammo" problems. And once I let the bottom of the scope mount get so dirty that it caused Joey some jams at a match in San Antonio. Bob once told me that if I ever had a problem to let him know but if I really liked the gun don't tell him, tell everyone. Sorry Bob. I haven't mentioned it to everyone recently but, after all this time, I am still delighted with the gun consider it money well spent. You can still hear the quality of the gun. I am not talking about when you fire it. I am talking about, when the gun goes into battery, it makes a thunk that sounds as good as closing the door on a new car. And, I love the way magazines just glide into the mag well with no restance until the instant that it clicks. Then it seems rock solid. 24. All kidding aside, I am really delighted with my c-more. I think Bob Londrigan may have adjusted the windage for me before he delivered my gun. And, I only adjusted the up / down. That was four and a half years ago. I would have gotten an answer from c-more but I called after the tech support guy left. 25. I wonder if I have broken the body as well. It was kind of weird. I was off to the left. I moved it a quarter turn. I was about half way to where I wanted to be. I moved it another quarter turn and I was way off to the wrong side. It took a series of extremely small moves to get it just right. Then I felt the back side moving and... Here I am asking c-more questions. See you at the range Tom Neal
