AWESOME! I love when you guys give guns away!!!
There was a vote taken, you don't get to entry the raffle, you can still buy tickets, but they will not be included
This looks like it was grammer checked in Warsaw as well.
And no one caught the misspelling of grammar? Just say you were on your smart phone

Application printed. Hopefully in the mail this week.

I shot a bone stock XD 4" and a M&P pro with Apex trigger in Production last year. My performances were fairly consistent with both guns. I would finish consistently in the top 1/3 to 1/2 at local matches (15-20 shooters). I like the Apex, because it cleaner and crisper than the stock M&P trigger. Trust me, there were some newer shooters with bone stock "whatevers" that would and still do give me fits. I think it is about ability, not trigger pull, that makes someone a competitive shooter. If this question came up a year ago, I would have disagreed with my statement above.

Am I working this ? I will need to make sure I save vacation.
Yes if you would like to
I will if you need me. If you get more "local boys" to help and I'm not needed, I will just shoot. I know the RO class is going on in February and you shoot get a fresh crop of ROs. I will more than likely be there to help build the previous weekend though.
We'll see how it plays out. Hopefully, I will feel better physically in 8 months

Confirmed. Special classifier match 5th Sunday in April. No WVO this year.
-
Just wondering what the dates are. I heard April 13 - 15 but need to confirm so I can schedule vacation.
Thanks,
Chris
Last I heard the match had to be cancelled due to RCC club conflicts (11/20/11). I believe there will be a special classifier match the 5th Saturday or Sunday in April to replace the match. I will be seeing Coach this evening and I will try to remember to confirm this.

As always, the folks in Indi did a great job. I had fun even with my many mistakes. I plan to be back again next year.
We always enjoy pestering the buckeyes

So far here is what I have on the match:
We are looking at having 10 stages with a round count somewhere in the 250 range.
As I already stated lunch will be available from EZ BBQ and will cost around $5.00 per plate.
I have always said that I like awards after the match but given the turnout for last years awards and the headache of mailing them to the winners I have decided to forgo the cerimony and have Manny ship them to the winners.
We plan on having more guns to give away this year including one (or more) for the staff. Matt Cheely has offered to custom build 4 of those guns. Last match we had a total of 6 guns (2 customs) that were awarded to the division winners. We are toying with the idea of awarding the guns through random draw within each division. So we will have 6 drawings one for each division. But this is still just an idea and has not yet been determined. A lot depends on how many guns we end up with.
We had a few people who had problems with the hill from hell and we are working on setting up a shuttle service from stage 2 to the top of the hill. Again, this is still just an idea.
We will be having a meeting of the minds in the next few weeks to work out some of these issues. As plans become concrete I will let ya'll know.
And Hooter Girls
I will volunteer to work if needed. I can probably swing a Friday off for Hooter Girls.

Squad 103 was great! Learned that cleaning your gun before a major is STILL not recommended. I either gummed up the striker or several high primers reared their ugly head. Had a great time working stage 7 with Matt and Tiffany.
-
I'm looking forward to this. I'll be working on some stage somewhere. I'll be the fat guy . (sometimes I think I should save e-mails)
Found the e-mail. I'm on bay 7

I will be there. Great match in 2011. Thanks for ditching that memory stage!
-
My votes would be ....
Pulp Fiction ..... probably already been done before
The Hangover
Blues Brothers
Ballad of Ricky Bobby
Forrest Gump
all of which would make for great costume contests .......
I'll throw "Smokey and the Bandit" out there.
"Smokey and the Bandit" was the theme for the Wabash Valley Open in March. Some of our suggestions matched Chris's. My vote is the Blues Brothers or Hangover.

A huge thanks to Jake, Aron, Brent and everyone that was involved in putting on this year's IN Sectional:
- sponsors
- setup/teardown crew
- stats
- ROs and you too, chrono
- and most important, the fellow keeping the coolers full - thank you!
It was, yet again, another match to rival all others. Awesome stages to think your way through. Enjoyed shooting with Squad 18, too.
DON'T MISS this one next year!!!
Sue, Sarah and Steve
Thanks for coming down. I hope Sarah's ankle is better. She was a bit bummed at lunch time.

As I said on Sunday, I wasn't aware of the costume contest, I overslept and just wore what I woke up in! I am truly sorry for taking the gun away from Jake! I'm sure those competitors that arrived on my stage were quite confused when I read the stage briefing!
On another note, I cannot say enough of how much fun this match was to shoot and work. And, my stage was a killer both for the shooter's and the staff. We had reshoots that put us behind but Aron and Jake brought me the best help in the world. Barry Martens stood out in the sun working for us and the guys were setting that Texas Star and watching that steel and we worked through lunch and made up over an hour and a half to get those shooters through. Also, this was the first match that I worked that I as staff was treated to a dedicated RO and score keeper on staff day. What a treat that was and I thank all of those that shot and bullet proofed those stages the day before so those of us working could experience a match like a competitor!
Lilli, Lilli Legs...Lilli Lilli
I feel for you on Stage 7. That is a lot of resetting, but at least you had shade all 3 days. Up at two, it was brutal for about 4-5 hours each day, but we had a good system. Thanks to Fourtrax and Riverman for a solid rotation Saturday and Sunday. They even had a little sympathy for me. . I feel for those at the bottom in the afternoon. It had to be brutal. With that being said, we did not have 115 deg. heat indexes like last year.

It's twu, it's twu !!
Lily & Bart are on the range.
Schnitzengruber for lunch.

Since I hear set up went well on day 1, my ETA is bumped back to about 6:30 p.m. tomorrow evening. My hours were pushed back to 8-4. I should be just in time for dinner. Some of you know, I don't miss any meals

Good point. I checked with Caliper. They are around .3555. I backed off the crimp for the first batch. Thanks
Unfortunately, busy couple of weeks coming up. I won't be able to get to the range to practice for about 2 weeks

I'm like a kid on Christmas Day. I can't wait.

My 147gr Loads dont tumble.. 147 BBI or Missouri, 3.4-3.8 Solo 1K (depending on lot number) light crimp, 1.12-1.14 oal depending on my mood and desired gun to shoot out of. Makes 135ish PF. Shoot in my M&P Pro, CZ Shadow, 9mm 1911 and even my 9mm Open Bianchi Gun.
I would back off the charge, see how that goes. Then if that doesnt help, load 10-20 with more crimp, and 10-20 with less crimp. Should find something in there that works. If not, then maybe try a different powder.
Thanks. My guess is that I'll have to find a slower powder. But I'm going to try to back off TG first. I've made some up with less crimp already.

If you are trying to get to 1000 fps then you are definately using the wrong powder. Pushing a 147gr fast with a fast powder is asking from a head seperation or case split. If you are trying for a defense round, don't do it my lawyer advised me not to use Reloads, makes you look bad in court, if you are hunting try 10 mm. But if you must, try something like WSF, Sillhoutte, or AA#7, then you won't scatter tupperware all over the range.
Purely practice and USPSA. I buy my defense rounds.
Then 918 fps is plenty too fast for production and plinking, @3,2gr TG, slowing it down a bit may solve the tumbling. If you have a look at the FAQ page on Precision you will see that TiteGroup is on the do not use list. I tried TG, it melted the rear end of the bullets, caused fowling, and smoked bad, went to N320, on the cheap side WST, 231, Solo1000, IMR7625, and even Clays(but don't push clays hard).
I've seen a few guns damaged with short OAL's fast powder and heavy bullets, in the last few weeks, fortunately no one was seriously injured, notice the word seriously, there were injuries. One individual I warned not to shoot the loads he had, well he didn't listen and it went Kaboom, and he never did find his trigger.
960-1000 is a pretty large spread. I wouldnt go any higher, more powder wont fix the problem if you are that high. I was thinking you were down aroun d 875. I meant to say TG isNT ideal for cast.
I'll back down TG first. I think I will probably be using WST or some of the other slower powders.
Thanks for all the input.

147's can be right on the verge of loosing stability when loaded light, You switched to a cast bullet which is probably slower than the moly's. TG is ideal for cast but works ok, The hole purpose of cast is to shoot cheap so I wouldnt buy powder especially for them though unless you have soemthing on hand. Try to get the velocity up closer to 1000 fps. Severl 9's I had wouldnt stabalize any 147's unless I was above 140 pf. Which is why I quit using them.
I did run some through chrono last weekend prior to a class. I was getting 960-1000 fps. I may try running some closer to the max 3.6 titegroup.
That's a pretty good bit of Tite group you're running already. The 3.6 max sounds like jacketed bullet data. You CANNOT safely use the same data for a cast bullet. I would back it down a bit and see if the tumbling continues. You may also try a slower powder as stated. WSF or Unique works well with cast bullets and can be found almost everywhere.
Good luck. I hope you get your problem solved.
Yeah, they are warm. I didn't really want to increase velocity for this reason. I've read others use WSF with success. I hate it because I bought 12 lbs of Titegroup at the end of last year

OP, what gun are you using? 147gr on a CZ shadow/SP-01 tumbles often.
I knew I forgot something.

Much to my Chagrin, I have to bow out. I will be working in TN over Memorial Day weekend and until the end of June (at least). Arrangments made, hopefully, to sell my entry.
