  1. I want to thank everyone who came out and shot this match. I hope the run and gun stages were enjoyable for everyone. I also want to thank those who sponsored the match. But the hard working and loyal set up, and tear down crew need the most appreciation. They make the match possible in the first place. There was some great shooting done in Riley, Indiana this weekend. Congratulations to all of the winners.

I hope that everyone will keep the injured shooter in their thoughts and prayers. He is scheduled for surgery Monday morning. The toughness he displayed on Saturday afternoon tells me that he will fight through this and be ok.

Once scores are finalized and any corrections made. I will be ordering plaques and they will be either hand delivered if you are local or mailed if you are not.

    He was indeed a trooper.

Thanks to all that made it. I hope to see you all next year.

http://mywabashvalley.com/fulltext?nxd_id=320952 link to a some news coverage today. You can see my ugly arse (literally) around the 20 second mark

  2. My application is in the mail. Thanks to Sudden Death for talking me into coming over for this. I spent four years in Terre Haute, so this will be a kind of homecoming! Looking forward to it.

    Sounds like a Sycamore.

I spent most of my 41 years there and have 3 degrees from ISU...You still aren't missing much. lol

Fightin' Engineer instead of a Sycamore. Close, though. Had some good friends at ISU.

In fact, if you're 41, we were there at the same time.

yep. You're one of them there smart ones huh

  3. When are you coming to town? We won't start anything outdoors until end of March or April depending on weather. The local IDPA guys shoot indoors at shooters in Racine twice a month. That is only 25 minutes from Burlington. The company I work for is based in Burlington, what are you going to be doing in town for a month.

    Tom

I will be working at a local glass manufacturer overseeing the Safety end of a furnace rebuild. I will be arriving March 3rd and leaving 4/25. Just in time for the Indiana State SS/Prod. match. I hope I get a few days of shooting in somewhere before then. I'm hoping to get to the indoor range in McHenry every other Wednesday. My weekends are probably few and far between. I know i'll have Easter off, but of course that falls on a 5th Sunday. Perhaps I'll shoot some IDPA to keep the skills up. Do they require membership?

  4. The staff shoots Saturday. If things go good and all the set up is done. We might try shooting some local staff Friday so they can RO on Saturday. We will set some up some the weekend before the match and come back on Wednesday to finish.

Sounds good, I'll see what I can do. I'll be coming from Wisconsin. Right now, that is the last weekend I'll have to be there for that job. I hoping to get some shooting in while I'm there.

  5. I did some live fire today. Nothing real formal. Mainly worked on transitioning on 2 10" plates and 1 12" plate. Often I got ahead with the eye snap. I seemed to be pushing low a little bit. Overall, I wasn't dissapointed. I was hitting the steel more that I was missing it. Yardages were 15-20 yards mostly. I didn't use the timer much, just wanted to get comfortable with the tools again.

    I was using all 3 of my M&P's. 9 Pro, 40 Pro and 40 4.25

Discovered some ammo wasn't feeding. I highly suspect I have some short rounds in my .40 stash.

One thing for sure, I'm ready to get back out again. Hopefully I will fully be released on 2/21/13.
