  1. I would start out at around 4.2 grains loaded to about 1.165 OAL. You may have to increase or decrease a tad after Chrono but probably not much. For my 6 inch STI I use 4.3 grains of N320 loaded to 1.165 OAL using 180 grain Moly Coated Black Bullets. They Chrono at around 169.8 PF. The jacketed bullets want get as good a PF as the Moly Bullets so I think 4.2 grains would be a safe place to start.
  2. There are a few videos of Lena Miculek on Facebook and maybe Youtube! Have not seen any others yet. She did an awesome job and for sure has a superb instructor!
  3. Basically any Accidental Discharge would be deemed grounds for a disqualification. It would be my assumption if a competitor is firing at a target and the bullet hits the ground 10ft or further out, the competitor was firing at that target and no accidental discharge occurred. It would basically be assumed if the competitor is firing at a target and the bullet hits the ground within 10ft it is an accidental discharge and unsafe, resulting in a DQ unless it is caused from the result of a squib.
  4. Had a great time at Double Tap this year! I had some good stages along with the not so good, but I always gain a little more knowledge with each match I shoot. Much thanks to Robert and all of the Match/Stage sponsors who made this event possible. The Match Staff and Range Officers were excellent as well, Thank You.
  5. Never doubted his integrity Spanky! I'm just proud he came in 3rd A so I could come in 3rd B. Good Shooting and see you at the next event.
  6. That is great Jack, I need to add another plaque to my small collection, LOL. Thanks for all the hard work you and everyone else put in to make the match a success. I had a great time and will definitely be back next year.

    SR 4756

Thanks Roman! I'm just wondering how reverse sensitive the Silhouette is? Guess I will have to experiment with different temperatures, but that may take a while.

    SR 4756

Chrono Results: Temp 65 degrees in full sun. Shooting a 6in STI and 5 In SV 40 caliber 180 Grain BBI loaded with 5.8 grains Ramshot Silhouette at 1.162 OAL 6 inch gun power factor was 175.3 5 inch gun power factor was 168.3 Now using 5.9 grains of SR 4756 with same bullet and OAL 6 inch gun power factor was 178.2 5 inch gun power factor was 164.6 6.1 grains of SR4756 with same bullet and OAL 6 inch gun power factor was 180.2 5 inch gun power factor was 171.8 40 caliber 180 grain Montana Gold CMJ loaded with 4.5 grains of Tite Group at 1.165 OAL 6 inch gun power factor was 173 5 inch gun power factor was 168 Recovery time was faster with the Silhouette than the SR4756. After I get all this powder used up, I will experiment with Solo 1000.

    SR 4756

Thanks Aaron! The problem I run into is trying to find a load that will not burn to fast and rip any of the moly off my bullets. If you load a real fast burning powder it seems like it leaves a little more residue in the barrel but then again you don't want a real slow burning powder either. Silhouette seems to work fairly well. I guess I'm just always searching for that perfect load, LOL.

    SR 4756

Thanks sargenv, sounds like an educated answer. I've got an open gun too so nothings lost. I'm still gonna chrono what I've loaded so I can feel just what your talking about when I shoot those loads.Interested to see how the Silhouette compares to the 4756 in a Major PF Load. I've looked at a couple of burn rate charts and one has Silhouette burning faster than 4756, then the other had 4756 burning faster than Silhouette. Thanks for your answer.

    SR 4756

Have been using 5.7 grains shooting 180 grain Black Bullets. OAL 1.165 I'm gonna chrono tomorrow using the above load, also gonna try 5.9 grains and 6.1 to see what I will need to make MPF.

    SR 4756

Does anyone out there use SR4756 for a 40 caliber Limited Load? If so, has your experience been a positive one or should I look at loading with a different powder. I also use Ramshot Silhouette. Most people tell me SR4756 is a good Open Gun Powder but seem a little surprised when I tell them I'm using it as a Limited Gun Load.
  13. Love my Rydons. Lens are easy to change and since I use them for about everything, easy is good.
  14. has not set their status

  15. Probably not a bad price. As far as the pistol goes, it wouldn't be my choice but I think it would do just fine if you don't plan on putting thousands of rounds thru it.
  16. I have one myself! I bought mine directly from CZ Custom and it already had all the custom work done to it. It has a Fabulous trigger, both double and single action. I think it would money well spent to have Angus work his majic on the Shadow.
  17. Hello from Texas and glad someone told me about this site. Looking forward to gaining alot of knowledge.
