Keep everything as is.....
Use a lighter load and change to a lighter main and hammer spring....no fuss no muss.

If it's the plastic grip.....you may be better of getting anothe one.... or upgrading to an aftermarket model.

Are they worth the $$....IMHO YESSS...Every pennys worth.
I am now using my SVI as my main gun with my STI as my back up.
Something about steel ( agressive texture or not) that you notice straight away....a total lack of "flex"...that's the only
way i can discribe it
My new SVI

Still playing with my new SVI.....
I've found that some of my old STI mags seem to work fine in the new gun...Hmmmmmmm.

A "easy fix".....you get an SVI for you....your wife gets your current gun and gets into the USPSA or IPSC game.

It's not as aggesive as you might think.
The biggest issue people have with the SVI Grip types is, apart from the co$t, that what does it feel like and is it the right size for your hand.
The very first mod I've done to my brand new gun is ....you guessed it...shave down the pedal on the RS Ambi safety...it was biting me and not allowing for a clean swipe of the safeties.
SO....is it perfect......maybe 99.9%....but the human factor is always an issue.
What would I have added ......maybe the DLC Coating... do all the accents in TIN....Go with a Sight Tracker layout and a 30 lpi serrations on the top of the slide......all of that would have easily pushed the gun into the 7G range.....and no mag.
Well, maybe on my next one....can someone say retirement gift

Thanks guys.
I know that the porcupine texture can be a tad aggesive....but you can always " knock them down a bit" to taste.
As for the price...the gun and 6 ( 10 round IPSC box rule) mags came to just under $6400 CDN
I just recieved the final paperwork....so now I can start the break in period......Brandon recomends aprox 1000 rds ( major PF ammo)
