Alright, to pull it apart, take down the gun like you are changing the barrel. Pull your bolt back till it locks the hammer and then slowly let the bolt go forward. Pull the charging handle out of the bolt (just straight out). This will allow you to pull the bolt and carrier out through the barrel hole. I normally drop the trigger assembly out first, but this is not necessary as long as the hammer is locked back (if it is not, something is probably going to fall out of the trigger assembly).
To answer your question, the 930 doesn't have a way stop the hammer from being fired if the bolt isn't all of the way forward. I have had the bolt sit 1/8" from being closed once (error was on my end with not having put everything together correctly).
sounds a lot like not having the spring in the right place...happened to me

Jeremy, you should have ordered the new Apex FSS trigger kit!!!!
Dave, is that the one that looks like a Glock trigger? If it is, I'm not a fan of the Glock look and feel... that's just me.
It feels nothing like a Glock. The pretravel and overtravel are so minimal that it feels as close to a 1911 as I've ever felt in a non-1911 gun. My .40 Pro limited build will definitely have one.
+1, everyone that shoots my FSS trigger says it's the best trigger they have ever felt in a polymer gun.

what grain bullets are you running with the KKM barrel?

I went with the larger one...I've got it attached to the Operator pack and it works well

Got a few questions on a lightened bolt carrier.
I have a 20" barrel, rifle length buffer, JP spring, F2 comp and run various factory ammo currently. Could i switch to the JP LMOS carrier and buffer without having an adjustable gas system? I wasn't sure if not being able to adjust the gas would beat up the Lightened carrier system.

i have one on order

Guiderod and spring is what I'm trying to figure out as well. Has anyone tried both lengths and have reasons for one or the other. I've got the SSS magwell and tf basepads and think the extra weight up front will balance the gun out
-
the description says "Longer than a standard guide rod and extends to the end of the guide rod counterbore in the slide"...I'm not sure what the means so I figured a picture would sort it out for me
-
anyone have a picture of the extra long SSS tungsten guide rod in a 9L? (not a picture of the guide rod but of it installed in the gun)
-
I emailed Donnie and I've got 100 coming my way to try out.
I assume these load similar to a moly bullet? I've been running 3.3gr N320 with a 147 BBI at 1.125OAL

BBI is 6-8 weeks out
Montana Gold is backordered
Zero is out of stock
anyone know where there are some in stock?
-
On the +4 I use the standard end cap for 8+1 and the XXL end cap for 9+1
-
This is what i've done so far...
28" barrel cut to 22" and threaded
lengthen and polish forcing cone
polish chamber
Briley extended LM choke
Nordic handle
Nordic follower
Nordic +4 extension
Nordic XL cap
Hi-Viz TriComp sight
welded lifter
Brownells safety
Sounds like a sick setup... have any pics?
Mind me asking how it runs with the forcing cone mods?
Mike Orlen did the barrel work back in November. Lengthen and polish forcing cone and chamber - $35

I tested 4 different brands of low recoil slugs a few weeks ago (Federal Truball, winlite, B&P, Wolf). Based on the initial tests the B&P seemed to work best for me. I ordered a case and did some more testing today. They ran fine in the gun and I had no issues with them at all. They say one ounce but I cut one out after getting them and they are closer to 7/8 ounce slugs.
22" barrel w/LM choke
Hi-Viz TriComp FO sight with triangle light pipe
This is 5 rounds off my bag and 5 rounds offhand at 50 yards. I put the tip of the triangle at the bottom of the circle
This is 5 rounds off my bag and 4 rounds offhand at 100 yards. I held the tip of the triangle at the base of the head even with the shoulders (or tried to anyway).

I'm planning to use it for everything
-
just ordered 4 from 3gunstuff
-
anyone know where I can find these in stock?
-
I ordered the G4 Operator last night from lapolicegear.com and got 15% off (code PAT15). When it arrives I'll take some pictures of it loaded up and give my thoughts.
The Operator looks to be very similar to the Phantom but the rifle case isn't detachable.
-
Does anyone have the Operator or Gunslinger II as a 3 gun bag? I've been looking at them and they look to be a good option. Only think I am not sure on is the shotgun scabbard and if would fit my 22" shotgun with the extended bolt handle.
-
i've noticed if you try and download it you can get this problem but if you fill it out on the site then print it it seems to work ok.
-
If you're a member of shotgunworld.com he gives discount pricing. Prices may have went up, he did mine a few months ago

I just ordered a "factory" (special order) barrel for my 930 straight from Mossberg! It is the "Turkey" model, with NO PORTS. Cost $180 + shipping, which is cheaper than modding the factory 28" barrel!!!!
[
How's it cheaper than modding the factory 28", unless you have to buy the 28" then modify it.
Mike Orlen did work on mine...
cut barrel to rib post - NC
install provided hi-viz sight - $10
lengthen and polish forcing cone and chamber - $35
Thread barrel for chokes - $35
return shipping $15
Total = $95
