On the 650, those aftermarket swagers work on the upstroke when the cases are not contacting the dies.

There are 3 white plastic strips on mine. I did bring it back to them (since they are local) to have a look at it. I was told it looks like it was installed correctly and the friction seemed fine. He recommended I just keep using the tape. If I knew I'd be forking out over $50 for this precise piece of equipment but have to resort to using tape to keep the setting from moving, I would’ve stuck with the MRDial.

Does anyone notice their setting changing after some use?
I have one for 223 and 9mm and I've noticed both of them changing their settings after some use. I first time I noticed it after loading a large batch (2K) of 9mm. While shooting, I noticed the loads felt light. I go home and check the charge and it went from 4.2 gn to 3.5 gn. I write down my settings and it did in fact change while loading. The next time I loaded up some 223, I kept an eye on it and noticed it did change after a couple of hundred rounds. I've resorted to putting tape on the dial so it doesn't move.
I have a Dillon 650 and no my kids don't sneak into the garage and change my settings while I'm napping.

The guy that sold it to me was the second owner and got it as part of a trade but he didn't even know it was modified. The guy doesn't shoot competitively and was cool about taking it back. It's too bad, it was a good price. Thanks again.

I purchased a used G34 and noticed some material was taken off under the trigger guard to allow for a higher grip. Not a lot was removed and I didn't even notice it when I first looked over the gun. Is this production legal? I checked the rule book but only found something regarding revolver grips.

I love the 15" PRI I have on my AR and Lancer makes a really nice one but their 308 versions have a larger diameter than their AR version. Because of that, I went with JP for my 308. They have a brilliant offset mounting system that allows it to use the same tube they use for their AR models.

I've been running an 18" JP barrel for years. A few years back, I got one of their 16" middy as a backup upper. I shot both side by side with all things equal except for the barrel. The 18" was noticeably softer enough for me to sell the backup upper. Many years ago, I tried the a 14.5" carbine gas system with a BC comp at a match. My doubles were a lot slower because it was bouncing a lot. I'll never do that again.

OK, now I'm really not a happy camper. We went to Stage 7 to watch the Super Squad shoot first thing this morning. What do you know - all the steel targets were FRESHLY PAINTED. What happened to "we are not painting these targets"? One rule for the Super Squad, another rule for the rest? Very not cool
Come on USPSA - if we really want to be a leader in 3-Gun, we are going to have to do a lot better than this.
You'll have to complain longer and louder next time - just like politics.
Congrats to Nils!!!! Just think what he could do with a decent scope.

I shot a Rem 1187 for 4 years before I switched to a M2. The M2 does kick harder but I don't notice it when the clock goes off and being able to load faster makes up for it. If you want to go with a gas system for less recoil but stick with a Benelli style for easy loading, there is always the Versa Max.

There nothing more tactical than a drum. My vote is yes even thought I don't see myself using it unless the roller coaster stage is brought out again.

Had to put our other dog to sleep yesterday. She lasted a lot longer than I expected and I'm glad she gave us time to get over the first one passing away. It would really suck if they both went around the same time. She was 15 years and 4 months. We had the vet come to our place. This is a tough one to explain to the kids because she didn't pass naturally like the other one. We are now dogless for the first time in over 17 years. That will take a little getting used to.

Looking at the specs on those barrels, the only difference is the profile at the gas block to the muzzle. The med contour uses a bull barrel profile with a 0.936" gas block. I like the idea of a 0.750" gas block so you have more gas block options if you don't go with a JP. I'd go with the light contour myself and wish they had that option with their 20" barrels. I always wondered why they went with a heavier profile at the end of the barrel. Isn't that a bad place to add weight to the barrel?

It sticks out a couple of inches past my extended choke but it doesn't look that bad and the benefit of an extra round could come in handy and loading that 8th round is easier than a +5.

I have one recommendation. Have a universal rule to state if we are allowed to chamber a round in our shotgun or not during preload. I could care either way but make it consistent.

The older models have a different motor than what is used now but you can use the new motor on the older models. The only difference is the capacitor shape but it will still fit. I have the older model and it died after less than 3 years. Dillon gave me an option to replace it with the old motor design for $100 vs the new one for $50. Easy choice. If you could install the motor yourself, save the back and forth shipping fee and have them send you just the motor.
If you talk with someone who tells you otherwise, don't believe them. I talked with 4 different people and got 4 different answers before I finally got a hold of someone who knows what they are talking about. One guy told me they won't sell me just the motor and I had to send in the whole thing and didn't give me motor options.

For a windowed die with the micrometer adjustment, try RCBS Gold Medal. It also has an o-ring that keeps the bullet from falling through unlike the RCBS Competition. Without the o-ring, you have to time when the case is in the right height so the bullet drops in the mouth. I use it on my 650 and have the lock ring under the toolhead so it doesn't block the window.

This is why I don't travel to shoot and only shoot one big match a year which is a local one. If I had cash burning a hole in my pocket and no kids, I'm sure it would be a different story.

Premier Reticles 1.1-8x24 if it is available. I upgraded my IOR to a Swaro but I would've liked a PR but I was barely able to sell enough stuff to afford the Swaro. Yes I might not need anything above 4x for most of the matches but it is nice to have if I ever run into 600 yard targets. I'd hate to buy a dedicated scope or upper just for those matches when the 1 scope could do it all. A reticle on the first focal plane and 1/4" MOA adjustments on the Swaro would've been nice.

Nope, they are talking about a side saddle. 3 Gun Gear also makes one. I have a 10 rounder on my M2. I used to have a bolt on side saddle with my 1187 but it became a pain to take apart so I went with a velcro system and never looked backed. The Mesa Tactical looks cooler because it is alum but it is more expensive and only holds 6.

I saw similar symptoms on a case feeder on a 1050 just before the motor died.

No experience with the Ballistic Tool version but I did use the uniquetek for my 9mm and 223 because I use different powder/bullet combinations for those calibers. Both uniquetek's changed settings while loading on my 650. I had to put tape on it. If you're not going to change the settings, don't bother with those expensive adjustable ones. Not worth it.
