  1. Kev, You can type Daniel at Daniel@DanielHorner.com and ask him. I've spoken to him several times over email regarding different shotgunning questions I had and he always typed back in a timely manner. He was super helpful and a real gentleman. As a result, he's now my favorite shotgunner out there. Good dude. Hope this helps.
  2. Beautiful job Ray! I really appreciate you posting the pics and sharing the info with us! I've been thinking about shortening the LOP on my SX2 but didn't know what I'd be getting myself into. Great info. Thanks again and God bless you brother. Chris
  3. Thank you Ray! You're a Godsend! Any way you could post a pic of your entire SG so we can see what it looks like overall? Thanks and all the best!
  4. I'm trying to get my Winchester SX2 Practical set up. Anyone know if anyone out there is making a "Big Dome" (Vang Comp) type safety for it? It's almost impossible to find aftermarket accessories for the SX2 / FN SLP Mk 1! Nothing like what's offered for the 870 / 1100! Thanks, Chris
  5. Wow gotm4! LOVE that SLP. I have a Winchester SX2 Practical I want to do the same thing to. Where did you get your 24" VR barrel, is it a 3" chamber, and will it fit my SX2? Also, is it any lighter than the stock barrel with the cantilever scope mount? Could you explain a little bit more about how it balances better than the stock set-up? Thanks!

  7. Nik, did that upper include a full-length slide to fit the 6" barrel? If so, who was the slide made by? Thanks and a very Merry Christmas to you and yours, Chris
  8. Thanks for the info Pac. Your timing is perfect. I was wondering what the effect might be of swapping out the 17 lb recoil spring for the 15 lb one. I think that while the 15 lb might provide a little less muzzle rise, it sounds like it might also cause the gun to run a little less reliably. Thanks for running the test and for sharing the results with us. Merry Christmas to you and yours, Chris
  9. I totally understand what Duane is getting at Kev, but you're right, I was wondering why the shape of the Glock's slide was so block-like, and not a little more sexy like the M&P and XDm (while still being able to accomodate the external tilt barrel system as described by Duane).
  10. Thanks for the suggestion Memphis. I'll definitely handle one of the Gen 4s and see how it fits. BTW, love your Ronnie avatar.
  11. Thanks for the info Rob. I appreciate it! I don't have an extra frame laying around so I'd better consult with Mike! All the best, Chris
  12. I have a Gen2 G21 and am looking to take a little polymer off the "hump" area on the rear of the grip as well as some off both sides of the upper grip area (just under the rail area where the "thumb rests" are on the newer pistols) to make the grip a little thinner. Anyone out there have a resource to let me know how much polymer I have to work with in these areas without destroying the frame? Thanks and all the best, Chris
  13. Ahhhh I see your point. The slide has to be more block-like to keeps its profile as low as possible. Got it. Thanks fellas and a very Merry Christmas to all on BE's forums! Chris
  14. First of all, let me say I LOVE my Glocks! And I understand how Glock decided on the geometry of its frames. But I've always wondered why they chose to make their slides wide and block-like and not a little more tapered like S/A has done with their XDm series. Anyone know what the method in Glock's madness is as it relates to this?
  15. Beautiful pics j! Look like some really clean work on the frame. I especially like the undercut trigger guard. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions! All the best, Chris
  16. Thanks fellas! I appreciate you sharing your input with me. All the best this Holiday Season to you and yours!
  17. I recently purchased a Glock 21 after shooting 1911s for years. As most know, we fans of the 1911 have our favorite pistolsmiths when mods need to be done. I'm looking for some opinions as to who some of the respected Glocksmiths are so when the grip modification or aftermarket barrel installation bug bites, I'll be ready! Thanks to everyone for your input! Best wished for a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone here on BE's forums! Chris
  18. Who are some of the respected Glock pistolsmiths out there? Any opinions?
  19. I have a G21 (Gen 2) and am looking to make the pistol shoot a little "flatter" (less muzzle flip). I use it primarily for self-defense. Is it OK to reduce the weight of the recoil spring without affecting reliability? I understand if I lower the recoil spring weight, I also have to reduce the striker spring weight. Will frame battering be an issue with a lighter recoil spring? If so, what recoil and striker spring weights would you folks recommend if Im shooting full power 230 gr ball and occasionally 230 gr +P Winchester Ranger SXT? All the best to everyone...
