Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I've gone through there a couple of times before going overseas and found it to be a great place to train. There are a lot of ranges going and the instructors are great. If some of them seem cocky it's more than likely because they have survived by doing. All of the guys I know there have been doing PSD work and training for several years. Most have prior combat experience. While the instructors I know my not be teaching a competition class I'm sure they can get it covered by someone who is qualified. I would pay to go there again. Take knee pads because the rocks on the range will tear your knees and elbows to shreds.
  2. This thread has answered a question I've had for years. I don't think I've ever fired a pistol and reloaded when the slide didn't didn't release. I didn't think I was seating the magazines that hard. This has been true for Glock, Sig, and Wilson CQB. I guess as long as I'm indexing my trigger finger I should be ok. Thanks for the thread.
  3. Quick question from a Newbie. Would a 2nd generation G17 work for building a limited gun like the one in the photo. I'm starting from scratch here and don't even know how much I don't know.
  4. I'm not sure. I have a couple of older Glocks (17&19) and a couple of 1911's. I don't know what is best for anything. I've just been cruising around to see what I can learn on here. I'm going to join a gun club and I hope to get a feel for what I want to shoot.
  5. Hi All, I'm new to all of this. The only shooting match I've ever been is was at the police academy many years ago. I have no idea what I'm doing and figured I would join and hopefully learn a few things before I go out and start shooting. I have an old Square Deal B and that's about as advanced as I can get right now. Thanks for letting me join.
