My wife is 5'5" and is about average size. (Not implying ANYTHING!) I started her with a Ruger .22 and she came to adopt my Browning HP and she likes the BHP better than the P226, XDm, or USP... Her commandeering my HP did free me up to buy another.

FL Gun Exchange is indeed the best "closest" place to you IMO. From the attractions it is no easy feat to get to anyplace other than Kissimmee. Unless you have some time to burn and REALLY REALLY need something you'd be better off ordering online. Enjoy the attractions. I you do make it to Shoot Straight do some price research first they will have a good deal hidden in the store somewhere but more often than not I have found they are much higher priced than a common internet price.

I also fall in the like camp for the 9mm XDm. I have been looking at another and considering the tactical because of the 5" barrel. I am I correct in noting the difference between the XDm and the tactical is the barrel length? (Sorry for the drift.)

This is soooo true. I can't wait for my kids to get old enough to start "pulling the handle"
