Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I would appreciate it very much if someone could tell me how to do this.
  2. I have a Witness Match in 9mm which I purchased last year. The pistol is extremely accurate and I have shot thousands of my handloads through it without any problems. My only complaint is with the sights. I had to raise the rear sight to it's extreme height to be able to get on target. The sights also do not have any white or other colored component which makes it difficult to get a good sight picture when shooting at all black silhouette targets. I would like to know what, if any, kind of replacements sights are available for this pistol and are they difficult to install. TIA
  3. I have a 9mm Witness Match which I bought earlier this year. I have 2 magazines with the front spacers. So far I have shot a couple of thousand handloads through it without any feeding problems. I do not load more than 10 rounds at a time and am careful about checking the OAL.
  4. I have an Elite Witness Match in 9mm. I have the older style mags and have not had any feeding problems as long as I do not load more than 10 rounds. I would recommend these guns to anyone who is interested. This is a heavy, all steel pistol with exceptional accuracy. I only shoot handloads with lead bullets and have not any problems of any sort. I do not shoot in competition but use it mainly for informal paper punching and shooting bowling pins. The load I use is 4.7 grains of Winchester AutoComp behind a 125 grain lead bullet. I keep the OAL to 1.125. If you load your cartridges to more than 1.135 you will encounter feeding problems. Last but not least, this pistol is an exceptional value. You get a lot for the money and the pistol is also very attractive. Mine gets lots of comments when I take it to the range.
  5. I also have a Witness Match in 9mm which I bought some months ago. It came with the old style magazine with the spacer in the front and the orange follower and I bought another one of these from Henning. So far I have put close to 2000 rounds through this pistol and have not had any of these problems. I have not altered the magazines in any way and the slide locks back every single time. I guess I have just been lucky.
  6. You are not the only one to have problems with a new CZ. I am another. I bought a new CZ 75B and have returned it to the company twice and it still doesn't work properly.
  7. Yesterday I took my new Witness Match out to the range. I put 150 rounds of my hand loads through it and it performed flawlessly. Prior to this I have purchased 2 other 9 mm's this year; a Taurus 24/7 OSS Tactical and a CZ 75B. The Witness is easily the best of the three. Accuracy is excellent with the light and smooth single action trigger. The grips provide for a steady hold. Recoil is very mild because of the solid weight of the piece. The adjustable sights are easy to use. And one last item which I really appreciate. The ejected cases landed nearby and most were in a 2 foot circle and so it was easy to pick them up after I was done shooting. I have had other guns which throw the cases all over the place. After I have more experience shooting this pistol I might contact Henning for the parts to make the trigger pull a bit lighter. I only have a couple of minor complaints. First, the gun came with only 1 magazine; almost all other manufacturers provide 2. Second, I think the company's web sight is woefully lacking in informative information. Third, customer service is crap. I sent them an email several weeks ago and am still waiting for a reply. The warranty also states that if you have a covered repair, you still have to pay the shipping costs both ways!

    Slide removal problem

I have a CZ 75B with the Omega trigger system which I purchased in April. Since then I have had to return it twice to CZ for various problems. I have now put more than 2000 rounds through it and there are no malfunctions and it is accurate. It also will digest all of my reloads without any difficulty. My only problem is in disassembly for cleaning. I cannot get the slide off the frame using just my two hands. I have put the hammer at half cock and at full cock and it makes no difference. The rails in the slide and frame are kept clean and oiled. When I called CZ about this I was told to "just use more force." Since then I have had to give the back of the slide a couple of light taps with a rubber mallet to get it to move forward off the frame. I am really disappointed because the main reason I bought this pistol was its reputation for quality. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has had a similar experience. TIA
  9. How do I find some of his "how to" videos, e.g., loading a magazine, installing new parts, etc? I can't seem to locate these on his web site. TIA
  10. I am considering buying this pistol but have heard of problems with the magazine. I would like to know the nature of the problem and also any possible fix for this, e.g., better after market magazines. Second question. Does anyone know the approximate pull weight on the trigger. I am looking for a light trigger because of arthritis in my fingers. TIA
