  1. My Glock trigger was/is the same as my Timney, 2.5#.  I only switched because my Glock trigger could only set off certain primers due to the lightness of the springs I needed to get it to work.  With Timney I can set off small rifle that I could not with my Glock trigger.  The only reason I switched to be honest, especially with primer scarcity.

No reason to leave the plantation because the Timney would not work out in your Glock.

  2. Some of it might be the tolerance of your frame itself.

I have 2 Timneys installed, one on a 34.4 & 34.3. When I got the first one for my 34.4, I had multiple issues that I couldn't resolve, so I got my backup 34.4 dropped that same trigger in and it ran perfectly first time in.

Got the second trigger for the 34.3, dropped in no problem.

I had the luxury of multiple Glocks to fall back on, though.

Received mine today to use on my 650 and old style case feeder.  Could not get it to run with the Dillon Wedge left on, would not cycle underneath the wedge.  Removing the wedge, it runs but squeaks, squawks, squeals and seems to drag on either speed.  Will try it with the DAA wedge later, but the drag and noise has me concerned as I don't have those with the Dillon plate.  From what I see for my case feeder (circa 2000) the thickness of the plate appears to be an issue with the Dillon wedge.

As an aside, the case feeder has 3 mounting holes for the Dillon wedge, something I don't see on newer models.  Also does not have a metal side to it, all plastic the whole way around. Not sure if the previous owner added one or not.

I reached out to DAA support, we'll see what they say.

UPDATE:  After hearing from DAA Support (thanks Josh) turns out that while I have five screws holding the case feeder on, only 3 are recessed, the other two are not flush.  As a result, the squealing and squeaking I heard was the new plate running over them.  Now to take a closer look to see if I can remove material or find screws to replace these.

If you are running an older case feeder (circa 2000), take a close look.

  4. I've been pleased with the walker silencer 2.0 over the last two shooting seasons, especially since switching to the Comply plugs.

Just found that my insurance will cover a certain amount for hearing protection so I might look into the westone.

If you can wait, the HoloSun SCS looks sexy as heck.  Fits the Glock OEM slide cut WITHOUT adapter plates.  It sits low as heck, as in "the window is barely higher than the slide top, so anybody's sights are usable".  Not having to use Suppressor-height sights means practically any holster is usable and there should be a shortened learning curve for the shooter, since the sightline is the same as iron sights.

No, I'm not on Holosun's payroll, but I do like the features....

.Wow, I had heard that they were working on their own plate, not a Glock cut compatible sight.

  7. Always worth it, minor investment of time and money. My RO training was also Perry Wilson, my CRO was John Amidon.  Actually working matches at the local, section and area level taught me much, and the people you meet become invaluable in what you learn from them by watching them breakdown stages as well as talking to them (after their stage - never interrupt during).  That and it's always a pleasure to be remembered by shooters that you've run over the years (both top shooters and us no talent middle of the road folks).

Before covid it was the weekend before Ryan Rocks. Now after covid it's the same weekend. Thankfully the MD of Ryan Rocks changed the date so those of us who want to shoot both can.

I have to take your word for it as I know nothing about Ryan Rocks or the schedules there.

We all have the same problem with Major matches and local club matches.  There will always be scheduling conflicts.

How come everyone keeps bringing up the fact the board was with Foley lock and step yet seems to forget the fact he was RE elected by the MEMBERSHIP. Wouldn't that make the membership just as culpable as the board?

To a degree, we probably do, but we don't have day to day oversight of the President, that's the BOD's job.  And his first go around, while marred with some incidents that we heard about and thought were addressed by the BOD, turned out to be much more than we knew.  BOD should have listened more to the howler monkeys, they were right.  Kind of like advance scouts...

How come yall switched the weekend to the same as Ryan Rocks?

I don't think it was a switch.  When originally designed last year, it was for that weekend but at a different range/club.  Once the range fell through, Section had to look around for a venue that could accommodate.  New club opened in the section, was very amenable to hosting it on that schedule.

Hope it doesn't stop you from coming by!

  11. They very well may, but sometimes you end up buying 50 of them, lol.  Best to reach out and contact M-C.  Buck at CHWPS swears by his product, and I respect him for that.  Would expect nothing less.  My experience is different as will every buyers' experience, though Matt7184 has the same issue.  When I have to use screw removers to take out a small stripped screw to upgrade a sight, that's a problem.

My guess is magwells and perhaps an outside possibility of ported barrels too. This would be for both CO and Production and would include the removal of magazine capacity limits for Production.

Then USPSA will four main handgun divisions:

    • Open
    • Open-Minor (currently CO)
    • Limited
    • Limited-Minor (currently Production)

I would add that they will likely allow SAO guns into CO/Production too.

    Well Francis Uncle Charlie Katy...

Serious question for those that enjoy Production; Do you think that the rule changes concerning allowable modifications have made the division better or worse?

Other than the lights and weight, no.  Production was fine as it was before this, IMHO.  I have come back to production after CO, I missed the challenge of the stage planning.  When CO was Production Optics, I enjoyed the improvement with an optic and the 10 rounds.  Once it became CO with 21+ rounds it was no longer production in any way, shape or form.

I stopped having fun with CO after a few years.  I'll still shoot it.  As a super senior with declining vision it is an aid, but it in no way is Production.

Perhaps I am a dinosaur and the sport has passed me by after 20+ years.

  14. Fed up.  CHWPS screws once removed from a Holosun sight.  This is bulls#!t.  I've used their screws with both Vortex and Holosun sights and have had the same issues consistently with the provided screws.  Got to where I requested extra screws knowing they would strip.  Whether the plate is better or nor is immaterial;.  Going back to the Glock MOS plate and screws.  Not my first rodeo, I know the inch pounds and how to install, the whole nine yards.  Just cheap ass screws at a premium price.

The people that wear it way in front can have issues with breaking the 180 on turn and draws. I rarely see it called, but I had to issue a DQ once before someone even fired a shot at a match because of it.

Glad you see that as well, caught flashes of what I thought was a 180 break after the rule change but wasn't sure enough to call it.

How did you catch the DQ on the shooter?

I keep looking at new guns but I have a hard time leaving my 34.5, especially after throwing in That Timney trigger. I have a couple minor changes I'm making to it in the off season but I'm not competing serious enough to have the gun hold me back at this point and I'll just run what I have and what I know.

This.  After 20 years shooting the 34's and 17's, hard to switch, and as a super senior, a new platform is not going to take me that much further.  Add the expense of new equipment after so much invested in Glock, have to ask why.  It still remains - It's the Indian, not the arrow.

  17. Might be some frame rubbing or angle of the connector.  Swap out some parts, see what else is going on.  Striker channel clear of debris, etc.

I had trouble getting mine to work on the first G34.4 I tried it in, swapped out everything.  Put it in my backup 34.4 and it ran flawlessly.  That may not help much, not everybody has backup guns
