  1. I hate the wait after that...watching as more of the organizations I could work at layoff and nuke people. I hate the lack of return phone calls, the decency to let someone know via a letter or email that they are no longer in the running.

Going thru it now and it is not fun...eats at your brain and you know if you don't find something soon your hobbies and interests will no longer be affordable....

Probably explains my foul mood and short fuse as of late....

  2. Sorry if I twisted your drawers. :)

LOL! no problem...drawers not twisted. Very focused now on the revelation i have gotten over that last several weeks from BE's post I quoted. Knowing where we are weak and where we are strong is what will guide us to improve.

If one does not choose to dive deep into themselves to see how and why they shoot, they will not improve. Our comments are different sides of the same coin.

  3. I go back to the quote from Brian. I should have put the YOU in Bold/CAPS. It's the shooters choice, nobody else's. I can't express how much of an impact that simple statement had on me as a shooter. Instead of running someone else's game or style, I run mine. May not be as fast as others, may be a touch more accurate, but it fits me and feels good for me...it's my game, nobody else's.

15 minutes can rule a life...nagging folks to practice can rule a life. Sorry, no comment from you will make me practice more unless I want to. No comment from Brian or Todd or Matt or anyone else will make me do more than I wish to do. Heck, meditating and relaxing makes me better...does not always have to do with trigger time!

How your life is organized and your time is utilized is by your choice. Likewise for other folks. Can I add 15 more? Sure...if I want to. That simple.

Now, if the challenge is to better the competition so that more satisfaction is taken from winning, then that's something different! :D

  4. From BE:

See what you need to see, do what you need to do; nothing more, nothing less, at each moment.

Everyone shoots for different reasons and are driven to practice (or not practice) for different reasons. Shooting may not rule their life and they may enjoy the camraderie more than the competition.

When/if that person you refer to decides to practice, they will. Plain and simple. No rant by you or anyone else will make someone do something they either don't/won't/can't do for whatever reason.

Folks are on this forum because they want to improve, to better themselves. Everyone needs to find their own path...this forum is just a resource. Some chose to avail themselves, others do not.

  5. ...ACCEPT that what YOU CAN ACTUALLY DO is all you should attempt to do. This we've called trust.

See what you need to see, do what you need to do; nothing more, nothing less, at each moment.

    be

Operative word is "You"...not what others think you should do. Don't rent space in your head to other folks. Last local match I let other stuff in and did not trust myself. Showed in the match....

  6. I just picked it up tonight and started to reread it. All of a sudden in Chapter 2 reading about focus and awareness and meditation, it hit me, and I could conciously visualize all the aspects that Brian was talking about. All I can say is " Thanks Brian, I have nowhere to go but up from here!"

Did anyone else have this revelation?

EVERY time I re-read the book!!

  7. Like the others here, the only time I have had any issues with Federal Primers was when I used "other" brass....S&B, Speer, Gecico (sp), et. all. Did that early in my reloading life and no longer use them. [They do work fine, however, in my SIG's.]

When I use my "regular" brass collection (Win, R-P, FC, PMC, CBC) I have zero problems.

    All through a Glock 34.

  8. Are modifications permitted to mag holders in Production Class? Oops...Division.

The reason I ask is that I have a few holders (ky-tac and comp-tec) that cover the lower third of the magazine, while the Uncle Mike and Fobus cover at least half.

Can you reduce the amount covered by an Uncle Mike or Fobus so that it covers less than half, closer to a third of the magazine? Seems that it can be reduced to above the top screw and still provide stability and security to the magazine.

    Thanks!

Lose the sights...first thing i dumped were the adjustable plastic sights.

Went to a Dawson Fiber Optic front and a Heinie rear that is widened.

Flex...funny you talk about the reversal of the rear...just did that with my SIG 226 and find it to be a world of difference!

  9. Funny you post that. I shot an IDPA match on Saturday where one of our group had both a clear holster and a clear mag carrier...of course his second mag carrier was hot neon pink....

Looks interesting...kind of like the ASP pistols that had the clear grips so you could see the number of rounds remaining in your psitol....

  10. I don't try to cover the finger swells on my 34...just the decal tape (.57 a foot from Home Depot 3m brand) on the sides and a strip along the back at the top, and the puppy points perfect.
