    yes

18.4 Aftermarket springs and trigger assemblies are permitted.

Where it gets confusing is RO/RM interpretation on whether that means any aftermarket spring anywhere else in the gun also. Hasn't been clarified by IROA as yet as far as I know.

But yes youré good to go with an AM trigger, try out the ArmoryCraft version.

Thanks, I will give that a go. Is it possible to fit the trigger of Armory Craft without changing the trigger bar?

  2. Has anyone made any modification on how to reduce the trigger pre - travel?

I know there are several aftermarket triggers available but I am not sure if these are IPSC legal (not USPSA legal) so my question is has anyone made any alternation or know what modification can be done and keep it IPSC legal?

if it makes you feel any better, I had the same lack of response to my inquiries.  But I did finally get it and I like it a lot.

I had a RHT before that that did fit my *thumb rest [generic]*, but I liked the idea of the GX Vise holster.   I'll probably be putting the RHT up for sale soon.

wow the gx vice holster has a lead time of 5 weeks.

On a 1911 maybe. On the p320 it’s open end towards the chamber, and while you can install it either way, it’s much easier to install  with the open end on the guide rod facing the chamber.

so its okay this way even on a variable recoil spring like wollf or ismi?

  5. Hi, could I just jump into this thread...It was mentioned that regular 1911 recoil springs can be used to replace the x5 legion recoil spring. When replacing, which end goes where? On a 2011, the open end of the recoil spring goes to the front. Is it the same with the Sig? I got my new x5 legion and the open end of the spring was towards the rear though.

  6. separate question, the website says the Romeo 1 Pro objective lens is 30mm and I suppose this is the diameter from left to right. Does anyone know what the measurement of the objective lens might be top to bottom? I cant find any info, considering its not a circular lens that would be 30mm diameter equally.

It has to do with the amount of magazines you get with the gun. As far as I was aware.

how many mags did it come with the earlier version? the R2 had 3 mags

It seems pretty common for newer dot shooters to worry about the height of the plate. The addition of a mounting plate makes little to no difference. I have guns with and without and there is no effective difference.

The important thing is to dryfire and build a good index with whatever setup you end up with.

I guess that is what I'm trying to see, whether there is any difference. I have had some people tell me that lower sitting dot is better because it is faster to acquire when drawing from the holster versus when the dot is sitting high then when presenting the gun, the tendency is trying to find the dot therefore making that first shot slower.

What other rds are you thinking of using? The Legion was built to be compatible with either the DPP or the R1pro as direct mount.

I could purchase an optic mount and then put say a burris fast fire 3 which I already have in the cupboard but the mounting plate would make the dot higher. If I put the romeo, it sits lower but is it as low as to where the rear sight was which means I wont have any issues in "retraining" to present the gun lower to see the red dot.

  10. It has been advertised that the Romeo 1 pro on the x5 legion does not need a mounting plate and therefore would sit lower in the slide compared to having put another optic brand which will then require a mounting plate.

I have seen several mounting plates in the market but my question is, is it worth the extra money to buy the Romeo 1 Pro instead and have that advantage of the optic supposedly sitting lower in the slide?

Does it really help that the optic sits lower making it more of a natural pointing gun so to speak? Does it really make a difference where the dot is?

I am new to the Sig platform having come from a 2011 platform for quite a while. Usually when shifting from a standard gun to an open gun, I find that I have to lower the gun a bit just because the red dot sight sights very high and I have known some people mount their cmore optics sideways on a 90 degree to get the lens closer to the bore (I havent managed to look through on one of these though).

I guess my question is, compared to the height of the iron sights, replacing it with the Romeo 1 pro, does the dot actually sit at the height of where the rear sight would have been?

  11. Is the P320 x5 Legion legal in production and production optics division in IPSC? Confusing on the production list where it says P320 is legal but then I think I read that the P320 x-five is not?

A 30 degree swing won't have much of an effect on the majority of common powders, but can on some.

Just compensate for the difference if using powders like WST, TiteGroup, W231/HP-38 or other somewhat temperature sensitive powders.

Chrono & load PF for the 41F and you are good to go.

I wasnt sure if this was a common thing (i.e. have two loads - one for summer and one for winter or otherwise). Getting a feel on what most do?

I'm concerned if I load when its cold and yes make power factor, would that load be dangerous to use when its summer and hot?

  13. I reload 40 S&W using extreme projectiles 180gr and Win231. We usually have shoots in all seasons and all are outdoors. Summers can reach 77 degrees F and winters are about 41 deg F.

Is it common to have loads specifically for summer season shooting and loads during winter to meet power factor needed?

I ask because I noticed that the load I have been using all summer which was chrono'd appear to have reduced power during shoots in the cold. Is that normal and so do you guys usually work a load for summer and a different recipe for the cold winter shoots?

  14. Thats interesting. I did have the first shot impacting highest than the rest. In saying that, Im not sure if the lock up would be any different to the rest of the rounds I fired as when I chambered a round, I often pulled the slide back and release it so it stripped the ammunition from the magazine. I dont guide the slide back though.

  15. sights are sturdy, The link appears fine. The slide stop pin has peened where the lower barrel lugs contact which if I am not mistaken means a tight fit?

was shooting rested on a range bag. Will see about the recoil spring but I am not sure how a stronger recoil spring correlates to shot placement? I thought they were only to resolve feeding problems and how fast to return back to battery and ready to fire?

  16. Trying to analyze my grouping. 180gr FMJ ammo from a STI DVC, 40S&W. 25 meters the grouping is a straight vertical line with 5 shot groups, about 1/2 inches apart for the 4 shots and the 5th shot was 2 inches higher. What is puzzling is that it was a straight line that I could put a ruler and draw a line for all the shots and they would be in a perfect line.

This was done on a slow fire to see the grouping.

Any ideas on what I need to look at or what is causing this? Any ideas would be welcome.
