  1. Some suggestions... When starting with empty stations and the case tube is loaded... Raise the shafts halfway up and manually index the primers six clicks, and you are ready to go. Whenever i finish a batch and run out of primers, i always make a few additional resized cases without primers and put them aside. Then I put the large Allen key in the case lever so no more cases are fed into station one. You can use the resized cases, if you for some reason have a primer without a case at station two. No more primers on the ski ramp... I also set all cases that I measure the powder aside.. Those I run when all other cases are done, and there are no more primers in the system. Seating them manually into station two, one by one until done. If you have snapping shell plate issues (powder jumps out)... Move the powder die to station three. While holding the bullet with index finger and thumbnail, use the pinkie finger to guide the case from station three into station four. All of this should give you a smooth start with the 650! 2. After receiving suggestions on this forum, I moved the powder station to station 3. Then catch the case with one finger leading it into position, when moving to seating station. All this while holding the bullet with my other fingers... looking into the case to confirm powder level and place bullet on the case. Works much better then cutting coils and using bearings... I used both, but ran into another snapping issue, that led me to test the solution above. /S Sent from my V9 using Tapatalk
  3. Does't the bullet fall off if you have "snapping" issues? For me, moving powder to station three... and catch the case when it moves into station four with my pinkie finger, while holding the bullet with the other fingers works best. Using this, i can almost keep the same speed as before the problems started.
  4. Sacrifice something red to the blue gods, and pray I gave up on finding the reason (for now).. moved powder to station three, and tightened the shell plate/catch the case when it comes into station four, with whatever finger not holding a bullet. Not as fast as it was before the problems started, but probably around 85%.
  5. Not on that spring ... did it on another spring a bit at a time until it was too short, just to see if it would help. But again.. the ball is already in place when the ring resets.
  6. I had another look under the shell plate. Not sure if the pictures will give you any new ideas? A small piece is chipped off in the back, as you can see in one of the images. I Doubt that is any problem though, as the plastic piece is seated deeper then that. Also there is a clear mark on the "hammer looking index part" ... could that indicate too much spring tension? Pretty sure this is the piece causing the snap when the index ring resets (as the plate has fully rotated and the ball is already in place). I did move the powder to station three (thanks for the suggestion!). It takes care of 90% of my problems, but I would still like to know why they occur in the first place.
  7. Well cutting coils of the spring did not work.. Got a bit worried when i couldn't find a replacement spring in the repair kit ... but found it after a while.
  8. I will test with cutting of a coil on the spring this weekend. I doubt it will help as the plate has fully rotated into position, when the index ring resets. But i'm getting desperate here ... need a couple of thousands 9mm asap If that doesn't work I have to send an email to dillon.
  9. Sorry, i ment the needle bearing fix discussed in another thread. It's the right plate and buttons. Does the powder bar reset allow for it to be put on station three? The problem occurs when the plate has rotated into position, and the index ring resets. A slight click is heard an the powder jumps out of the case at station three.
  10. The ball bearing "fix" was installed directly when i got my 650 (the press is unusable for 9mm without it). However another "snapping" issue has appeard instead. When the shell plate indexer resets, powder "jumps" out on station Three. This is extremely annoying and forces me to put my finger on top of the case when raising the handle. Down to under 300 rounds an hour because of this! I pulled the press apart to see what could be causing it... index ring looked ok, spring ok, changed that spring loaded hammer looking indexarm. No effect. Any ideas on hown to solve this?

Could not find a delete post option on my android ?
  12. Hmm.. I mailed Dillon about exactly the same problem, but they acted as they never heard of it? My tube is also tilted forward. You have to be very careful to properly seat it at the bottom, or cases will get stuck! /S
  13. Maybe you can try what this Aussie did? Might prevent the brass from rotating.
  14. Thanks, I now got the dies installed.. They work OK (but could do better) for wadcutters, even though there is nothing to "hold on" to. Apparently Redding has some kind of insert for waddcutters .. I might get one of those if I find the length to vary to much. /S
  15. How well does the Redding Competition Pro seating die .38spec/.357mag work for wadcutters? Doesn't the seating die try to grab the bullet on the ogive? The wadcutter doesn't have that! /S
