  1. Your CED M2 isn the most accurate, sensative, and fastest chrono on the market. At Multi-gun I had an AR double and it picked up both shots. See if you can get the club to upgrade their chrono or at least set it up in a box. Chronoman
  2. We're mixing apples and oranges here....Use the normal sun screens in daylight and use the IR screens in a box. The mfg sez the IR's can be used out of the box but for serious/best results use them indoors or in a box. The IR's can be washed out by too much ambient light. All things considered, CED is the best sporting chronograph on the market. Chronoman
  3. not sure if the first reply got out... I use both. Incandescent with RV bulbs when commercial poweris not available and display case bulbs when it is. I use the IR's whenever possible for 2 reasons: It 's the best possible light source and the sponsor supplies them. Chronoman Thanks for the followup. It looked at first like you didn't use/like the IR stuff and I thought that would be the most stable medium to use which you confirm. I have the IR system but haven't used it yet, I wonder if there is any difference between the two? You might find .5% difference between incandescent light and the IR's. We use the IR's because they'er supplied by CED, are battery operated with NiCad's that give 8 hrs use between charging, and they are convenient when using a box as they focus their light on the sensors. Especially for the price, it's a sweet setup. Chronoman Neal in AZ
  4. I'm sure that it will be available as an AR upper soon---or just shoot all A's and don't worry! Chronoman
  5. The biggest offender of erroneous power factors is the use of natural sunlight. Light intensity and angle can greatly affect your readings, that's why we use a box and artificial light at major matches. I've had repeatable readings with 6 different guns over the same chrono both in and out of the box one bright sunny Sacramento day and the owners of the guns said that the sunlight readings were way higher than expected! A repeatable 100fps faster outside the box! Chronoman

  7. "A Box" would be 20 rds...for under $7 us
  8. I've just noticed Wolf plastic cased 223's on Powder Valley's web site...available and under $7/bx. Anybody had any experience with plastic cased ammo? Earlier in the week they had 9mm but it's gone now
