What is the deal with Cerakote? I'm looking at a glock 17 and it has been Cerakoted. I'm not at all familiar with this stuff. Why would someone coat a glock with it? What is the purpose and how well does it accomplish that purpose? WHat does it do to durabliity, reliability, and accuracy?
-
Oh, the 17 is significantly cheaper anyway. On another note: What are the differences between the 17 and 34? Aside from the length of course. Is the only other difference the mag release?
-
That is the best arguement I've heard so far Duane. I have no problem carrying a large frame gun. Hell it's an open carry anyway, but the little size and weight saving of the 17 when I shoot it just as well as the 34... looks like the 17 is the winner.

SO I'm going to start carrying a glock for work. I'm desided that It will be a 9mm. SO I'm between a 17 and a 34. I shoot a 34 in production. Anyone carry a 34 or use it for work/something other than sompetition?

I love this forum for exactly the reasons you all provided here. So much information for so many different sources. Awesome. Thanks again guys.

Thanks for all the info guys. I'm actually building a work rifle, so 00bullitt had it right on the money. I'd like to know more about breaks that are best suited for a combat and CQB enviornment. $400 for a Knights Armament seems a little steep. What can you tell me about the PWS FSC556. What does it actually do?

So I know that Front Sight just did a big article on Comps a few months ago, and it seems like I found a comp that I really like, but I'm still curios about what else is out there and what other shooters are using. I'm new to 3-gun and I love it so far, but my rifle background comes from military shooting primarily. THat being said I understand that 3gun and combat shooing are in fact different. I digress... So other than my personal favorite (surefire), and Miculek what other comps are people using? I'm especially interested in the Noveske "Flaming Pig" Also, Anone know what comp/brake Magpul dynamic uses in "The Art of The Tactical Carbine II" DVD?

When you put on an extension is there another part that should be used also? Some kind of clamp or something?

I'm new to 3gun and I have a benelli m1. I want to get an extension tube to get 8+1. Where can you find one, and who makes the best one?

Mid-Length vs. Rifle Length gas system questions.

It looks like Brownells has a 20" DPMS barrel that will take a rifle length gas system. Wow do I go about having it cut down? Where do I look for someone to cut it? -

Thanks for the info. I'm going to see if I can find an 18" DPMS barrel cut for a rifle length gas system. -

So what is a descent 18" barrel? I don't want to pay a fortune for a designer barrel. If you have all the necessary parts and pieces can you just get a barrel and put the rifle length gas system on it? Does the barrel need to be set up for the gas system? Could I put a rifle length system on a 16" barrel? -

Is the JP adjusatable gas block and different or better than PRIs?

If you use an adjustable gas block does the length of the system really matter? -
Is the JP adjustable gas block the way to go? Is it that much better than any of the other low-pro adjustable gas blocks out there?
-
I hate it when some has said that they will sell you their Benelli M2 for $800 when you get back from deployment and then 3 days before you return they sell it to someone else.

Great thread thanks.

Expensive but worth every penny if your going through 30k rounds a year or more

I started shooting a Sig226 and Moved to a Glock 34 and Love the results. Better trigger of course and I like the 34 more than the 17, but I really like the 17L as well. If you already have a 17 I would save the money and not get the 34.
