Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. After months of unproductive dry fire, and reading the experiences of you all on this forum, I was finally able to order Steve's first book. I can't wait!
  2. As a long time martial artist, but a new shooter. I have been thinking about my breath a lot lately. At this stage I am not able to add speed, as I am still learning to control the trigger. I find that when I slowly exhale during the shot I can usually keep my trigger press smooth, and keep my sights aligned properly. Hopefully I will be able to start adding speed in soon, and I don't see how I will be able to exhale over multiple shots. In the normal learning process does one stop needing to control the breath so closely, or do most people not need that close of a breath control to start with?
  3. I tried this link, and it came to a golf show. Was that the one you intended? In addition to Matt's show I also like Massad Ayoub's ProArms podcast and the Gunfighter Cast podcast. They aren't aimed at practical shooting sports though, more so just general gun information, which is fine for a complete novice like myself.
  4. I've enjoyed this thread, and have seen many good points. As a newbie, I see someone who is accurate as good. I see someone who is accurate and fast as exceptional. I agree with the idea that accurate and fast are relative, to more than me. Someday I hope to be accurate and fast enough to put myself in that group. Maybe then the definition will have to change.
