  1. I got a RMR RM07 adjustable for my XDm compact, its pretty tough, so no need to worry about breaking if its constantly hitting stuff, as demonstrated here: I had my slide milled and RMR placed in front of my rear suppressor sight. I leave it on my default brightness setting, never turned it off and it's still as bright as it was when I bought it in October.
  2. Got my C-more red-dot in!!! I also got my 1911 reduce power recoil springs pack on monday. Now it sits on my carver mount There is no way of know where the knobs current position is, so I decided to make a marker with paint to show its location. She is about 80% complete, still missing a threaded barrel and will get some slide cuts and a new paint job .
  3. I'd say about 2 years ago I started shooting with both eyes open, I've learned to ignore the ghost and focus on the real from sight. Since then I've never really notice any ghost.
  4. Well a I just received my pistol gear Unlimited mag well, carver slide racker and 4x arredondo 140mm mag extentions and their springs today from a fellow XD enthusiast on brian enos forum. Just got off of work and was estatic to get them and decided to fit them ASAP. I ran into a problem with the magwell, its not its fault, but it was a problem with the frame. My Marine Tex epoxy had added a substantial amount of girth at the magazine opening. So I proceeded to dremel it, took off the top layer, hammered it in with a rubber mallet, still tight AND it caused the opening to bend inwards, causing it to bind any mag inserts or releases. I ended up dremeling down to the original polymer surface. It finally fits w/o binding, so with that done I'm planning on just adding some touch up blue paint on that lower section. Slide racker is a good fit, and I see no need to tighten the hex screw, though I'll need to invest in some brass pin punch to remove it w/o marring it for cleanings. The base pads for my mags. I found out that a fully loaded 140mm mag (22 rds of 9mm) makes it difficult for the mag catch lever to get a good lock, cause I noticed it would fall out. If I chambered a rd then the mag would seat properly. I will also Duracoat them blue as well. She is almost finish!! Just waiting for more storm lake threaded barrels to come in then I'll be sending it out to Mark Housel of L&M precision to do some slide cuts, barrel fitting and cerakote the slide and compensator. I'm also waiting for some 1911 reduce recoil springs for the Springer XDm guiderod that takes 1911 springs and also my slide ride c-more.
  5. I realized that after finishing LVN school and currently studying for boards, its gonna be hard to convince a patient to live healthy if I'm obese. I'm 5'6" and started the new year at 268 lbs. On 1/19/13 I decided to actually use my "Lose It" app on my iPhone, just curious to see how much calories I'm really eating. I added up all the stuff I ate and I took in 2,966 in one day and on top of that I lived a sedentary lifestyle, go sit down at work then go home and sit down and watch TV/Internet. The app had me down for 2,109 cals a day for what goal I wanted: 100 lbs, 2 lb loss a week (thats the max) and it quoted me that I should loose that amount by 2/3/13. Since I started that almost 4 wks ago, I've been doing well as far as keeping my calories below the max, I've lost about 16 lbs so far and just started exercising 2 days ago with just a jog/walk. Another reason to lose weight besides health, is I'd like to start in USPSA open, and having your gut overflow onto the mags and mag holders would not be comfy.
  6. Thanks for the input you guys! I hope to get the racker tomorrow. Will do some dry fire runs with it to see how it works for me.
  7. Yup, thanks for the parts, cant wait to put them on!!!
  8. Yup, just got more parts coming in. Carver mount, guide rod that takes 1911 springs, magwell, slide racker and 4 140mm w/ springs on on the way
  9. Finished with the new paint job, just waiting for bobby to get a new shipment of storm lake barrels for sending my slide to my gunsmith for the slide cuts, paint job and barrel fitting. Also found a good way to hold the frame while painting, cover the entire mag, insert backwards and volia!! gun frame on a stick.
  10. So about 2 years ago I wanted to start an Open gun build on my XDm9, I got as far as repainting my frame and added a silicon carbide grit on the frame, and had a older version of PRP match trigger kit. This year I decided to get the ball rolling again, and since then the paint has been beat up so I've ordered duracoat snow gray(I believe that was the name) and OSHA Blue. Going with a sliver/gray/blue/black theme. I have a carver mount and XDm guide rod that takes 1911 springs and it included a choice of different springs, I went with a 9lb as I'll be loading for major. Other projects in the pipe is to get the slide cut and redone in satin aluminum cerakote as well as the SP 3-port comp. I'm just waiting for a new shipment of storm lake barrels from Bobby carver, so I can get my gunsmith to do the cut, paint and barrel fitment in one shot. Other items to finish this off is: -C-more slide ride (blue) -Pistol gear Unlimited Magwell -Carver XDm slide racker. Then eventually I'll buy bobby carver CR Speed holster, belt and mag holder combo http://www.bb-enterprise.biz/item157235.ctlg I'm also planning on upgrading my reloading set up, I have an old C-style lee reloader, works great for the past 2 yrs but I'd like to step up to a progressive, looking into a Dillion square deal. Reloading supplies I'm looking for more primers and looking for autocomp, which is hard to find online. Sadly I'm working double shifts today and tomorrow....and the gunshow is in town this weekend. I'm gonna order some 125gr JHP from precision delta for major and some 115 FMJ for just plinking for my other XDm compact. Thats about it for now!
  11. Thanks for the replies, I guess when I get mine I'll have to try either side. Though with the Carver mount for the XDm9, I'll have to remove it everytime to take the gun apart :/
  12. Alright, well I decided to get my XDm in to open division shape, buying parts and getting the slide lighten and repainted. Looking into a slide racker, I'm a lefty and I've notice in videos that some RH shooters have their slide racker on the right side. Personal Preference? Or is there something behind it?
  13. Yeah... its will suffice and help me with just reloading minor loads. I don't plan to shoot USPSA anytime soon though and I'm just going to work on the XDM little by little. Thanks for the heads up though!
  14. Whats up you guy, decided to come out of the shadows today, been a long time lurker and making use of the search button . Anyways, I decided that I wanted to try out USPSA open division sometime in the next year or two. Production would suffice for a newb like me to the sport, but I just cant let my XDM9 be and have decided to do a slow build. Which brings me to reloading, I want to try for 9 major so I decided to start reloading first to get a alot of experiance and a good understanding of building a round before I make the jump to making major loads. So what to do with the tax return that was more than a month late and was given as a check vs. DD which I asked for. Well I want to get into reloading so I decided to follow the advice that is given to new reloaders, READ!!!! So I had bought the ABCs of reloading 8th Ed. a month ago, and on wednesday I went to midway and decided to get this: Lee single stage press Though to myself "heck I'll just be paying $9 for the manual" Also included are Lees universal shell holder Lee shellholder chamfer and deburring tool Lee chamfer and deburring tool and a universal reloading tray Lyman Universal Reloading Tray Thats it for now, looking for an plans for building a reloading bench right now. My initial want was to get the Lee 50th anniversary press kit Lee Challenger Breech Lock Single Stage Press Anniversary Kit - MidwayUSA but decided that I prefer a digital scale and since I wanted to get a Lee reloading manual might as well get the one with the press. It comes in on the monday so I'm pretty exicted. So that was a pretty lengthy intro........ Ahhh forgot to add pics of the Race gun to be....plans are to send it to Scott at springer precision and get the trigger worked, creakote the slide and comp and get a bar-sto barrel fitted and other stuff....

    Airsoft pistol

I know I'm not going to get recoil management from my airsoft, but I do notice that I'm focusing more on my front sight, which I had a problem before of moving from front sight to target. I also think that the fact that I'm also working on transitional drills has helped with keeping my front sight focus, I don't know how to explain what it is, but when I line up my gun with the target after I transition I focus on the front sight, but when I see the target in the background all fuzzy, I place the clearly focused front sight right in the middle, double tap, then move to the next one. Is this a skill that anyone else uses?
  17. I have a xdm9 with a trigger mod, was thinking of production, but I would have to remove my mods.
  18. Just want to know the difference between these two besides caliber. Do I have to score higher or something, cause I read somewhere that shooting minor you have to shoot A's? If I get around to doing USPSA I would like to try limited, but I only have a 9mm and I don't reload.
  19. Thanks for the help, I really would like to try it out, but I have to wait and see money wise. It really is a nice thing that I can shoot with what I have, only thing that is missing is a LH holster, 1 more mag, and I would like to use WWB 100 pack...but hell still hasn't froze over.
  20. Being a newb to this forum and to IDPA, a fellow forum member from xdtalk invited me to try shooting a IDPA match on May 24. ( my B-day also ) I have a XDM9 so I'm guessing I'll be placed in the ESP division, what mods are allowed? All I have in it is a PRP match trigger kit, grip tape, and FO front sight. Are any of these mods allowed?
