Ok first off I'm brand spanking new to reloading. I just purchased a .40 229 a week ago and with the ammo shortages I figured I'd get into reloading. From what I've read I seem to be a little late in the game but got to start some where.
Anyways, like I said I'm brand new but I have an acquaintance that started reloading at a young age and he said if I can come up with the components he'll be more than willing to teach me using his press.
Brass - once fired mixed stamps
Primers - still haven't found any online but a local store has SPMs I believe
Powder - WST or WSF. Again the locals have WSF and WST, from what I can remember off hand, for 24.50 a pound. That seemed a little expensive as powder valley has WSF 1# for 16.20 but including shipping and hazard it ends up costing more than the locals.
Bullets - I'm looking at 180gr. Mastercast lead or precision delta FMJs. Should lead be used for a new barrel? Or should I stick with jacketed or even moly?
Now I see people talking about major or minor loads and I've still yet to find an answer on what this means. I presume PF?
Thanks
